The day before yesterday, during the late evening, I ordered various things inc. 2 big bags of stuffing, from Wool Warehouse.
Email acknowledgement came yesterday, and blow me down, the parcel arrived this morning!

Delivery choice is Evri or RM (£1 more) and it did say on the website that RM is proving faster at the moment - no kidding!

Hi Witzend I think that there is something going on with Evri at the moment.
All my deliveries from them going back to before Christmas have been delayed / rescheduled.
One parcel from Next was over a month late.
Next actually cancelled the delivery as they said it had been lost.
But then it turned up weeks later (and I got a free bottle of perfume! Please don’t tell anyone 🤫)

I ordered from Wicked Uncle Toys in late afternoon, parcel arrived by Royal Mail the following morning.
Evri is getting a lot of complaints at the moment but I personally have had no missing parcels from them, just not such a speedy service as Royal Mail

I would gladly pay more for delivery by RM, given the option - Evri is very unpredictable. Yet another Evri driver in my area has been prosecuted for theft - may explain the disappearance of my White Stuff return collected by Evri (I did manage to get my money back),

I ordered from John Lewis on a Saturday morning and it arrived Sunday teatime via Amazon delivery. A record, I think.

Amazon have many faults but their delivery service is excellent.

Last Tuesday afternoon I ordered some gloves from the rather lovely British-based Southcombe company (No, I don’t own it or have shares in it!) www.southcombe.com/

They arrived at 9:30am next morning via RM. ✔️

Evri has been appalling recently-despite their reputation I'd never had a problem before. Three recent parcels, two from Woolwarehouse, were 10-15 days late, and one of them delivered to a property up the road.
I suspect the delay was due to the warehouse thefts in Stockport but the wrong address was just the irritation on the top.

Three cheers if Royal Mail are getting back in gear!!
