Good morning all - oh when is it going to start getting warmer!

The ‘old’ neighbour of Dd texted her to say the cat was in their conservatory.! Yay! They had lured him in, so dd picked him up and hes now warm and cosy in the new house. Thank goodness!

Dd has her penultimate immunotherapy infusion today. I hope all the messages got through to the hospital, to say she has moved.🙏, as the nurse comes to the house to administer it. (Don’t have any faith, I’m afraid). Thank goodness she’s been well enough to cope with her move.

Today we have a tip time booked at 9.30 with lots of DD’s ‘stuff’, - DH’s ribs are still sore, so I’ll do all the lifting. The staff at the tip aren’t very helpful.😤. .

Hoping you all have a good enough day. Love and kind wishes to all who are poorly or sad or stressed or worried. 🙏

Morning all from a frosty West Oxfordshire. We are going to see friends about one and a half hours away later on. We have known them for nearly 50 years! We have only seen them once since covid began so we are looking forward to it. The first half hour of any meeting is spent discussing our various ailments, before moving onto more interesting topics. Have a good day.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Enjoy your trip today Mick. A beautiful sunrise in South Yorkshire this morning, and not quite so cold. We had a lovely meal out for DD’s. birthday yesterday and she was very pleased with her birthday cake so my effort wasn’t wasted! Son in law put Apple TV on my set last night and he seems to have scrambled all my terrestrial channels. I don’t know what he’s done to it! DH where are you when I need you!! He was the tv expert. General housework and associated goings on for me today.
Have the best day you can, folks.

harrigran Mon 23-Jan-23 08:23:19

Good morning from the NE where it is 1 degree and dry.
SIL got stuck in football traffic yesterday and it took him an hour to get here, usually it only takes twenty minutes. I didn't realise there was a Derby match between Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
The bulb had gone in one of my ovens so he changed that for me, fiddly job but done now.
The duck parmentier was delicious, the last time we had it I ordered it from Michel Roux but yesterday I made it myself and we both agreed it was superior in taste. Must write down the recipe so that I can recreate the dish for GD1 as she loves duck dishes.
Elder sister sent a message to say she is visiting this afternoon after she has had a new carpet fitted in her flat. This is her sixth and final week in the UK, she will be off home to Germany at the weekend. I wish I had half her stamina.
Have a good day.

No Matt = Monday.

Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga. I’ve had two mugs of tea and am just contemplating a third. I’ve been reading the newspapers on line. Washing cycle is almost complete (a quick freshen up of clothes) and looking out I’ll need to use extra pegs as it’s windy woo at present.

No idea what to do with our day. Might go down to the paseo later for a last walk along by the Mediterranean before we fly home on Wednesday. No chance tomorrow as it’s ‘ladies’ which is sacrosanct. Mandatory attendance unless you provide a sick note. 🤣

I like how your house is prepped ready for your in-house nursery provision Grandmabatty. Enjoy your mini break Mick it’s come at a good time for your well being I think. You do right getting up and about Ekwa those anxious thoughts in the wee small hours are a bugger. I loved your description of the cygnets ‘coming in to land’!

Enjoy Monday all - whether you have plans or none. x

Good morning all from North Wales. Dry and milder than of late. Late up after not sleeping too well during the night.

Had a nice few hours in Liverpool yesterday. GS had a ball of a time at Monster trucks live. They did a meet and greet before where he met the drivers and vehicles up close and got photos. He looked like the cat that got the cream. Definitely his best birthday present! Yes it was very loud he told me hulahoop and I am sure your little GS would love it too when he’s a bit bigger Grandmabatty

Not sure of our plans today. Probably a nice stroll will feature.

Will catch up with all the threads now.
Safe travels Mick

So pleased your DD’s cat turned up Gingster.

Good morning and it looks like more of the same weather wise today. Dog walks have been great the last few days as we can keep to the footpaths along the fields and avoid the icy lanes.

DS came yesterday with middle DGD as eldest one working and youngest suffering from a bad cold. I think they appreciate having special 1-1 time with us.

A quiet day today although we might go to the nearest Aldi about 15 miles away to investigate what wine they have in stock. DH thinks they have stopped online deliveries which we normally use.

Hope today is kindvtoday whatever your hopes and plans.

Good morning all from gloriously sunny -but parky- N Bucks
I laughed at your dog’s wandering Baubles - Rosie starts the night in her bed but some time in the early hours must transfer to mine because I generally wake up with her curled in a tight ball pressed into the small of my back. With no more Paw, I’m not complaining.
I arranged to meet up with a friend I haven’t seen for a couple of years for coffee before my Art History class today and now 3 other mutual friends who’ve missed her too are coming as well so we can be ladies who lunch. Her DH is quite frail and I believe she’s been so afraid of catching any of the current lurgies (let alone Covid) that she has withdrawn from many activities as she has literally no family who could help out, their only daughter living abroad. It’s a thought when you are the only carer - I used to say I “didn’t do ill ” - but TBH I couldn’t have!
Good luck with the Estate Agent GM, they do such brilliant pictures don’t they? The pics of both Daughters’ houses in London were so lovely they wondered why they wanted to move. Mind you, D2 had spent a full week not only decluttering but “spit and polishing” every last centimetre and D3 told me that when they had their open day, all the boys’ toys were in the back of the car and they had to walk them to the park and her sister’s for the day as there wasn’t room in the car for them to drive!
You are a brave lady going through that again, I’ve been in this house for 25 years and dread the thought of downsizing. Good luck.
Wishing you all respite from your worries or health issues and a pleasant day to all.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 23-Jan-23 08:42:54

Good morning all from slightly warmer Harrogate
Should be interesting finding out more about your new puss, Ashcombe
Have a restful trip away Mick
Good luck with the estate agents GrandMattie - look on it as new beginnings.
Today is a day of telephone calls to my sisters and school friend will also have to contact my bank to find out why I can’t use my card to get money out!
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders .
I'm on the way home from the dentist on the bus. It's freezing 🥶
Supposed to be 8° but with all the windows open this bus is like sitting in a fridge .
Maybe we are being deterrrred from spending all day on buses to keep warm?

Nothing much planned today so may do some housework. It needs attention.

Hope you have a good mini break Mick
Surely kitty is allowed to be gender neutral Ash grin

Could it be a food allergy Abitbatty

Alygran Mon 23-Jan-23 08:47:47

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another dry and cold day here.
Sunday lunch club was good yesterday with 9 of us. Lots of laughter and chat. DD2 went home late afternoon as she has a busy week at work. Back to being very quiet.
I’ll go out for a walk today and then catch up on the usual admin.
Enjoy your trip Mick.
Stay warm everyone and have a good day.

dustyangel Mon 23-Jan-23 08:47:56

Good Morning everyone. It’s bright but chilly and has just got up to 5°. I’ve been awake for a while sending messages with my older daughter whose birthday it is today. When I wished her happy birthday earlier she asked if I was messaging from my bed. blush. She knows me well.
We are seeing the physiotherapist later on, I managed to pinch a nerve in my neck while doing exercises a few days ago so I’m hoping she can sort that out.,

GrannySomerset Mon 23-Jan-23 08:55:53

Still frosty and sunny but not for much longer if the forecast is right. Empty day so will totter into the village for exercise and a little shopping but nothing else planned. I have two books on the go for different groups so had better finish them, I think.

Jaxjacky Mon 23-Jan-23 09:02:30

Morning all from -5 in S Hampshire, early phone call from daughter, never good news, she’s tested +ve, they called in yesterday as it was our grandson’s birthday. We’ll keep an eye out for symptoms. Quick shop trip today and my volunteering day, some bank stuff to sort online too.
Enjoy your break Mick and good luck with the estate agent gMattie.
Have a pleasant day all 🦩🦩.

Georgesgran Mon 23-Jan-23 09:24:14

Good morning from Durham. It was a lovely dawn, with streaks of pink in the sky, but it’s now clouded over - at least the temperature is above freezing.
Coffee this morning with two friends, but one is so ‘dizzy’, she’ll probably let us down, (again!) even though today is her suggestion.
DD2 is going to a diabetic foot clinic today - she isn’t diabetic, but her lack of circulation causes much the same results - last time this was tried, the diabetic clinic refused to see her.
After a week of house arrest due to a heavy cold, I’m looking forward to being out and about.
Best wishes to all.

luluaugust Mon 23-Jan-23 09:27:01

Good morning all from a frosty, sunny W Kent. I have plans to go to the local shopping centre and stock up on a few bits and pieces but not sure if it will happen as DH not keen on getting the car out. Good luck with the Estate Agent gMattie. Well done with the beef Marydoll
Good wishes to all.

Taichinan Mon 23-Jan-23 09:31:03

Good morning all from a grey but mild Angus coast. I believe it's 7° out there, but as I've not long woken up I haven't been out. Yes, another late one - but I had a good night's sleep, so no excuse for not "getting on with things" today. Lovely gardener was here on Saturday for the first time this year so that's another step towards Spring, along with all the snowdrops. Joy!
Wishing everyone the best day today - I shall now read some of your posts with a second cup of coffee and the rest at lunchtime x

Anniebach Mon 23-Jan-23 09:42:03

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

annsixty Mon 23-Jan-23 09:50:16

Good morning all from what was a sunny Stockport but it has already clouded over.
My phone tells me it is 4degrees , I don’t believe it!
Nothing on the cards as usual as far as going out but will find small jobs in the house.
You made me think this morning Maw I have been in my house for nearly 47 years, I wish sometimes I had downsized when my H died but I was 81 and it seemed such a big thing at that time.
Now, I couldn’t even contemplate it.
I hope all who are unwell and indeed all of you have the best day you can.

Sar53 Mon 23-Jan-23 09:50:34

Good morning from a cold, frosty and very grey looking Essex by the sea. A miserable day ahead.
A quiet weekend but a lovely phone call with DD2 last night.
Housework this morning and catching up with programmes I missed last night as DH was watching the snooker.
I have a big birthday coming up later this year and my girls are pushing me to arrange a celebration. I need to make some phone calls.
Enjoy Monday everyone xxx

Stilllearning Mon 23-Jan-23 09:54:00

Morning from DD4’s house on the edge of South Lanarkshire.
I had a lovely evening here last night, DD has come late to cooking as a hobby and our meal was delicious.

Today is post school childminding day in East Ren, quite a journey from here. I’ll be on duty tomorrow as well due to ongoing teacher strikes. I am currently out of ideas for activities and looking for inspiration from Junior National Geographic Fun for Kids. It doesn’t actually say ‘for handless grannies’ but one can only hope.

I think one of my brake lights isn’t working so also a visit to my local garage en route.

Best wishes to all for a decent day🦩

Kalu Mon 23-Jan-23 10:39:56

Good morning from Glasgow where it is dreich and drizzly.

I have a script to collect at some point today, other than that, the day is my own. I may get busy or maybe not. Decisions, decisions. 😄

Hoping a good day is ahead for all.

Blossoming Mon 23-Jan-23 11:03:22

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Lancashire. It’s lighter and warmer today and it looks like all the ice has melted. Fingers crossed for a walk later. Enjoy your trip Mick, happy Monday to all 🦩

BlueSapphire Mon 23-Jan-23 11:22:06

A very late good morning everyone from a.not quite so frosty Northampton, 0°out at the moment.

I have just waved my DB-in-law off on his journey back home to the Peterborough area. We have had a lovely weekend, rugby on Saturday, then a lovely day out yesterday with almost all the family to celebrate DD's 40th birthday. We enjoyed the Jamaican restaurant, a few of us tried the curried goat, and it was delicious! Elder DGD couldn't be with us as she was already booked to see 'The Lion King ' in London, including a back-stage tour.

Nothing really planned for today, just a quiet day in, catching up with the papers and ringing the travel company to sort out a few details. And of course will go back and read about everyone's doings.

A good Monday to all!
