Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but hopefully not so chilly and getting milder here in brackley .
Today, apart from household chores ,I plan to go to Bicester on the bus ,taking advantage of the £2 fare on offer .
Then returning home for lunch and cycling on TV.
Take Care,
Mick

Good afternoon everyone, rather belated today 🙄😊
We had a lovely Sunday lunch with old friends yesterday, lots of catching up to do.
GP follow up appointment this morning, it seems that my heart failure is ramping up so urgent referrals being made for further diagnostics.
I was given a 3 year prognosis 4.5 years ago so not doing too badly.
Onwards and upwards!

Hello everyone. I had a good appointment with the Dermatologist. It seems I don’t have anything sinister and it’s simply a blocked pore! She looked at a couple of other strange bumps and lumps and they are fine too. To celebrate we had lunch out. Dinner will be leftover lasagne made by younger son or Special K. Have a good evening.

Hello everyone, chilly morning here near Stansted Airport, planes taking off in different direction so no noise!
I think that Mick’s travels to Bicester sound interesting so will have to venture there soon !

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning from sunny West Sussex.
We had a lovely lunch with DD3 and family yesterday. GDs were both very bouncy so we took them out on their bikes through a local green space and gave them some time on the playground equipment in the park. I was looking for signs of spring but they were few - some hazel catkins and fresh new nettles. I had to run to catch up with the cyclists who were ready to cross at the complicated set of lights on the dual carriageway between green space and home. I’d vote for a car- free Sunday (even though we drove there 😕. I nearly fell asleep on the sofa when we got home but had to wake up for Happy Valley.

Today I have Tai Chi - a very small group of beginners which I am really enjoying. I must join the declutterers - I decluttered DHs desk during lockdown so I too have a box with excess paper clips, safety pins and who knows what else. I must see if a charity shop wants them or I might offer them on Olio.

The Celtic Connections Youth Concert sounds wonderful, Stilllearning. I would love to go to some of the concerts - I looked at the programme but going north would have clashed with commitments down here so I will hope for some recorded sessions on Radio 3.

Susan, I join others on here in sorrow for the death of your young friend.

hollysteers Mon 30-Jan-23 11:51:14

A parcel has arrived from Fortnum and Mason, champagne and chocs, but not for me!
I have figured out the mistake.

Good morning from Sunnyside northwest coast with the washing out in the garden.
Bad night with toothache, reflux and general up and downness.
Toothache calmed down but could be the start of something.
Wish I felt chirpier for such a nice day.
Thoughts to Susan and will read through later.

Grandmabatty Mon 30-Jan-23 11:33:35

Susan such sad news from you. 40 is far too young to go.
Still learning I was too smug! I dropped my car key card at the front door. It promptly vanished under the summer house I think and it's taken me over an hour to remember where I put the spare key. My blood pressure has soared and I'm only now able to calm down. Dgs2 is down for a nap while I have a cuppa.

Good morning from Glasgow, sunny but chilly is still more welcome than grey and dreich.

Very sad news Susan💐
Welcome back fancythat from down south. 👋

I noticed our resident fox sound asleep under his favourite hedge in the garden, took him his cat food treat, he scoffed the lot and went back to sleep. That was enough outside time on a very chilly day for me.🥶

A day of this and that ahead.

Hoping a good day is ahead for all.

dragonfly46 Mon 30-Jan-23 11:05:06

Good morning from a bright, dry and windy Co Durham.
Not posted for a while. I read your posts everyday but by the time I come to reply the morning has gone.
DH has has d a cough and cold for over a week and has just retired to bed again so I’ll have to stay quiet so no housework 😂.
I’ve started investigating train fares to Scotland for my DSIL and me. We normally go three times a year but haven’t been since Feb 2020. We love Perth and Dundee. Hopefully we’ll be going in February or April.
Hugs to those in need and welcome to Fancythat.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire but it’s blowing a hooghlie! Had a nice day with DH and DiL yesterday. We tried a new pub for lunch that does the most amazing pies. The list was long. I had rabbit because I can’t resist a rabbit pie - or rabbit anything for that matter. Wonderful pastry and lots of filling. It made a nice change from a roast. Today I have a casserole to make and portion up for the freezer, and some laundry to do. And there are two chocolate eclairs staring at me from the fridge…………
Susan I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. That’s no age at all.💐
Welcome fancythat👋🏻.
Have a good day folks.

GrannySomerset Mon 30-Jan-23 09:35:42

Awful night for no good reason so am late facing the day. Good thing there is nothing planned.

Lots of news. So sad for you, Susan, losing friends really hurts. Think Dolly’s strong mindedness must be inherited! Hope for a satisfactory day for all.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 30-Jan-23 09:33:46

Morning Mick and all

The sun is trying to break through and it is meant to be warmer than recently.

I can see the 7yr old and his school pals doing cross country round the school field rather them than me.

I am off to the gym later and some general pottering afterwards.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Ziplok Mon 30-Jan-23 09:33:29

Good morning
A much brighter day today but still fairly chilly.
I tried drying some washing outdoors yesterday, but it was still damp when I brought it back in so it still needed airing off indoors.
Hope your back pain eases off Harrigran.
Have a good day all.

Marydoll Mon 30-Jan-23 09:32:50

Stilllearning, as a staff we used to have a night at Celtic Connections.
There was a mass exodus from school to catch the train, a pre theatre meal and a glass of wine at the venue.
I absolutely loved going. Happy days.

harrigran Mon 30-Jan-23 09:28:39

Good morning from a sunny and very windy NE. I wore earplugs plugs to enable me to sleep.
Busy afternoon yesterday, SIL went into the attic and found a suitcase full of jackets, I thought we had dealt with all of DH's clothes. They were mostly new, still with labels on, so will go to charity.
He also found boxes of old utility bills, a bag of old electric razors and a bag of spectacles 🤨
We printed a form off to send away postage stamps for replacement, when I gathered together all of them there was in excess of £80s worth.
After dinner last night we watched Bank of Dave on Netflix while we finished our glass of Crozes Hermitage.
Today I will be sorting paperwork as my back is still painful.
Good luck with the estate agent today grandMattie, do let the potential buyers know that their offer was insulting.
Have a good day everyone.

Taichinan Mon 30-Jan-23 09:24:54

Good morning all - clear skies and strong winds on the Angus coast. Last night's Chinese Banquet with my tai chi friends was lovely and it was wonderful to see and chat with so many people who I haven't seen since pre-covid.
Sounds like a pleasant day planned Mick. Grandmattie I hope all goes well with the estate agent - that was a good point made by karmalady. Well done with the ironing ash. My ironing and I have an on/off love affair - at the moment it is going through an off stage and iron is wielded as and when required! Oops sorry about all your poorly relatives. Good luck with the ceiling men whitewave - you'll be so glad when this episode is behind you. Dolly's little message raised a chuckle, Marydoll - obviously she's developing into quite a little handful! Welcome to "fancythat* from down south. I know what you mean about the London visit annsixty - the slowing down of the body is such a frustration. Maybe go - and you can investigate many coffee shops?
And talking of going - so must I and get this lovely day moving. The washing machine is churning round with a very large bed cover in it which I hope dries in the wind and then will air off on the radiator this evening before going back on the bed. That's the Big Plan anyway 😉
Have a good day in whatever way you can everybody, with lots of almost-Spring sunshine to brighten your way x

Wyllow3 Mon 30-Jan-23 09:21:25

Morning from a sunny S Yorks, just chilly.

Today I’m hoping to get a properly working printer back - the shop had it from me late December for a repair and sent it ti the wrong place and it all got “lost in space” so they are reluctantly giving me another from stock, its their last one. shall be bring in my computer et al to check it works the function I want - print photos on glossy paper, its a loved nobby.

A sad day, Susan, so young too.
a “hi” to fancythat

May poorlies and hospital visits have a the best day/outcomes possible and outings enjoyed. Ironing…nooooooooo!

Grandmadinosaur Mon 30-Jan-23 09:20:40
