Definitely modern medical equipment/incubators- without which my 2 youngest sons nor some of my GC would be here now.😊

Hmm yes the inside toilet is a good choice hulahoop- as a kid we had outside one (and im only 59!) and when we did get house with one inside (when they demolished old streets) it was a downstairs bathroom.! Still better than outside though.πŸ˜„

Heated gilet with a spare battery - wear it all the time!

Norah-The air fryer IS easy to clean particularly if u get one with baskets/container you can take out & put in dishwasher- (look at wilko's own one) or use air- fryer liners.

Jules 59 I think you will find the new digital NHS ones do just as much as any private hearing aids. You can buy all the Accessories privately to go with the NHS hearing aids and they are brilliant. Nothing is perfect but this is as good as it comes for me and I have tried at least 10 pair in the past.

Romola

Washing machine, no contest.
Until our son was born in 1971, we used to carry our laundry to the launderette and have half a pint in the pub nearby. But the prospect of nappies (terry towelling then) made me decide that the time had come to get a machine.
Does anyone not have a washing machine nowadays?

Don’t think anyone in Eastenders owns a washing machine Romola:. They all seem to take their’s to the Laundrette. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Totally agree NannyJan53, do you have the TV connector too? I have a Roger Pen but is seriously considering buying the TV attachment too, anyone know if it is any good?

I could not work without my computer. I would hate to be without my electric blanket and heating in general. Food wise Cheese is my top priority.

Why is your oven so dirty it's unusable? Surely you clean it?

I pad. Being housebound it keeps me in touch with relatives and friends as well as being able to shop for all sorts of things.

About 4 years ago I bought a new padded coat. Looked at some cheapish ones. But found a much dearer one that was weighty and went to my knees. But not bulky. Splashed out and so glad I did. So cosy and warm. Still looks like new. One of my best ever buys.

My mobile and the internet would have loved them as a teen growing up.

I pad, Automatic washing machine, Air Fryer

Are air fryer hard to clean?

Our oven is so dirty I feel we'd be better just buying new smile or something easier to keep clean from little people baking.

Washing machine first, what a blessing.
Showers instead of baths
Indoor toilet: walking across the yard to the outside loo was a challenge in winter.

987H2001....No.1 I can talk for England,I used to be very shy when younger.no.2 I have a grasshopper mind. My brain needs constant feeding so that I dont feel glum plus I've always been interested in how differently people see life even if they're of similar age. When I used to transport elderly people I found they liked to talk, especially about their past. Now I'm that age I I find happiness thinking backwards hence my posts.
If anyone finds me too annoying I will just read others posts and not put anything up myself !!

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 01-Feb-23 12:32:38

Nana3- I'm with you: unheated bathrooms in the past.😩
