Good morning all from a dull W Kent. We had a happy time with the family last night for GS5's birthday. Fish and chips all round, which was chosen by the birthday boy. Unfortunately aged GD then had a night of indigestion, we can't win anymore!
My DH, DB, and father were all Chartered Surveyors and yes there is a vast difference between what happens for a mortgage survey and a full house survey something most people don't appreciate, one is no substitute for the other.
Very pleased to hear your good news Marydoll, enjoy your wine
Good wishes to all.

..."no heading off to Filey for fish and chips then!"

Oh, don't tempt me. the chips at the far end of the beach (is it Cobble Landing? near the Brigg are second to none.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry here and Alexa says 7°C at present with showers later and a high of 10°C. We slept in which was nice. I’ve stripped the bed and the porridge is on the hob.

We are going over to mind L’il Miss in an hour as her mum & dad would like to both watch the Boy Wonder play football this morning. Later, we will be going back there to babysit tonight.

Enjoy Saturday. I’ll catch up reading your posts later! x

Light at the end of the tunnel for Marydoll, what an encouraging post today. Looks as if incarceration will prove worthwhile.

Grey skies this morning. DD andDSiL arriving this evening so need to shop in order to feed and water them suitably. I look forward so much to their visit and am cooking duck for this evening.

ginny Sat 04-Feb-23 09:04:25

Good morning.
Moving day went well for Dd3 yesterday and their new house is lovely.
I actually managed to sleep quite well after a day with smallest DGS.
Not sure what plans are today but I am hoping to finish a painting and make a couple of birth cards .
Pleased to hear Marydoll seems to be getting her treatment sorted out.
Wishing you all a good day.

Alygran Sat 04-Feb-23 08:55:54

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Cold and grey this morning.
Off to the garden centre to meet my cousin for coffee this morning. I’ve not seen her for a while so a lot to catch up on. Out for supper this evening.
Good news Marydoll. I hope you’ll be home soon.
Happy driving Grey.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all and it looks like another ‘nothing’ day in north Suffolk.

We have a dell in the garden made when clay was excavated centuries ago and it is covered in snowdrops and later bluebells, followed by nettles. The snowdrops are almost at their best now and, given there are snowdrop days locally in the next couple of weeks, they are flowering at their usual time.

What is strange is that we have some daffodils in bud as well as hellebores and primroses. However and whenever they flower it is so lovely to see them and, with the lengthening days, feel that spring is just round the corner.

Hope you all have an enjoyable day and those with anxieties and worries have some relief.

Good morning from an overcast S Hampshire, i had an erratic night’s sleep, unlike me.
Unsatisfactory visit by the surveyor gMattie, disconcerting.
I’ll be digging out my leeks later, leek tart for dinner tonight, while I’m in the garden a few bits need chopping back.
MrJ’s wound swab showed the infection is gone, he’ll still have a week or two of nurse visits for dressing changes.
Enjoy all of your adventures today 🦩🦩

NannyJan53 Sat 04-Feb-23 08:46:10

Good morning from an overcast Black Country, but fairly mild.

Housework this morning, then pop over to Mums as Brother and Sis in Law will be visiting for lunch. So I will join them for a walk.

Susan I went to pick up MrJ about 6 years ago after a speed awareness course. As they were all leaving, one of the atendee's drove off sharply whilst on his mobile phone shock So much for trying to educate people.

Homemade curry tonight, and watch one of the many films we have recorded and not found time to see.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning all from a dry but dull Black country.
Washing on hoping it will dry outside have managed 3 loads this week outdoors.
Ash I hope you can get your blockage sorted and it doesn't entail to much more work before things move smoothly.
Mary you seem a lot brighter it's good that hopefully your meds will be sorted and your dizziness bouts will cease, and enjoy that glass of white🥂 cheers.
Friends coming over later and we shall go to the club.
Well it's Saturday once again and full English calling so will catch up with everybody's news later.
Enjoy your day and may you all find some ☀️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey but mild South Yorkshire. A better day yesterday. DD took me shopping, did some stuff in the house and then son in law and I went for my second run out in my car. He’s satisfied he can safely leave me to fly solo, as long as I don’t overreach myself (no heading off to Filey for fish and chips then!). My house arrest is finally over!
I have a cake to make today, and a curry for a family lunch tomorrow.
Mary glad to hear they finally have a handle on your condition! Onward and upward!
Have the best day you can folks.

Morning from a rather dreary S Yorks

Nice to read above posts, especially Marydoll my that has several bits of cheering news in - yes its nice about the wine, but discovering "the wrong drug" very important.

The chap who did the survey on this house was first rate, every detail was useful. However I've found a difference between mortgage surveys (often whizz in and out) and ones of houses you are buying.

Well done for the garden and painting and sewing plans all. My ambition for today is to get to the gym.

Take care poorlies and enjoy family and friends all.

Grandmabatty Sat 04-Feb-23 08:31:07

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry with high cloud. Marydoll that sounds better! And a wee glass of wine too! Nankate what were you thinking? 😂 I haven't had a picnic in years. Mum's idea of a picnic was to sit in the car to eat. She is not a fan of the great outdoors. Ladyleftfieldlover your day sounds really interesting. I'm a big fan of science fiction. BlueBalou enjoy your painting.
Yesterday I visited my friend in hospital in Glasgow. I managed to leave my phone at home though so I had an enforced social media break which probably did me good. Thanks to Marydoll I went the right way getting off the Hyndland train. My friend, although still very thin, has got back her. If you know what I mean. She was feisty and chatty if at times emotional. Her exh was visiting too and he struggled to keep control of his tears. Anyway three hours passed before we knew it. Later I had a fish supper for tea as I couldn't be bothered cooking. It was lovely but upset my stomach last night somewhat.
Today I will toddle to Aldi for some necessary items. Dgs1 is coming for a sleepover, planned this time. He has asked for sausage and noodles for dinner. I have no idea what we'll do, but dinosaurs and trains will figure highly. Have a good day all.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 04-Feb-23 08:28:58

Good morning all from dry Harrogate
I’m surprised the surveyor didn’t just ask you if there were problems he should know about (tongue in cheek) GrandMattie
Sounds like they are getting to the root of your problems Marydoll with the thought of wine when you finally get home!
Today will be a gentle baking day and Hope I’ve space to freeze it for later.
Have the best day possible folks

Gingster Sat 04-Feb-23 08:23:27

Good morning all and it’s a ‘nothing’ sort of day here in Essex.

If I see that pop up video of someone making 3 ingredient scones, once more, I’ll scream! 😫.

Your news sounds promising Marydoll - keep us posted 🤞.

I’ve had another bad night too, Sar how annoying. Try to have a nap before you ‘do’ tonight. Enjoy!

My db2 was a chartered surveyor and a better chap you couldn’t wish to meet! 😉.

Yesterdays lunch was very nice. A large pub packed to the seams with ‘over 55’s’ . A good meal with lots of choice for £5.95. 😳. A round table for 9 of us, it couldn’t have been better , good service and pleasant staff. I don’t know how they did it! 👍.

Today Dd and little gd will come for some lunch after her dancing session. She’s bringing her new Christmas game ‘DigIn’ so that’s our afternoon sorted. Dh and ds1 will go to a footie match .

I hope you all have a nice day, whatever it brings. 🙏

dragonfly46 Sat 04-Feb-23 08:16:38

Good news Marydoll it sounds as if things are going in the right direction 🍸.

dragonfly46 Sat 04-Feb-23 08:13:25

Good morning from overcast Leicestershire.

Great news yesterday. My DS has a new job. He was hating his last one.

When I was teaching in Scotland I had classes of well over 40 and believe me I knew every one of them WWM!

Today I need to pack for our trip down south to see DD’s new house. Then playing Scrabble with friends in the afternoon.

Thinking of all those with worries and ill health.

kittylester Sat 04-Feb-23 08:11:34

Good morning all from a rather overcast bit of North Leicestershire.

This morning DH intends to set up his new laptop - I apologise in advance for the swearing! I will walk to the village for flowers and a chatvwith our lovely florist.

We may go to JL for pillows this afternoon.

Butter chicken for supper.

Have the best day possible everyone.

NanKate Sat 04-Feb-23 08:04:24

Good morning Mick and All.

A clear warmer morning in South Bucks.

Cheers Mary so happy you can indulge in a small amount of chilled white wine. 🍹

Off to buy up Sainsbury’s and M and S as I rather madly offered to provide a picnic for 8 of us on Sunday when we meet up at NT Polesden Lacey to celebrate our DGS’s 10th birthday last Thursday. I’ve found a bar of Cadbury’s choc with his name on it, that won’t last long. 🍫

Have the best day you can Folks.

Marydoll Sat 04-Feb-23 07:56:06

Whitewavemark2

PS I have yet to met a decent surveyor. Money for old rope imo.

My son is a Chartered Surveyor!!!! 😉

Forsythia Sat 04-Feb-23 07:54:28

Good morning from the south coast where it’s dry but overcast at the moment. Yesterday, we did a good walk all along the seafront stopping halfway for a lovely lunch at a favourite seafront cafe, yummy! The old legs are aching today so I suspect it might be a stay at home day today with paperwork to be seen to plus get the washing machine on. Maybe potter in the garden later.
Warm wishes to all. Enjoy your Saturday.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 04-Feb-23 07:48:58

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I will be attending a Day School on various aspects of science fiction today. Should be funsmile OH will be home watching rugby.

Marydoll Sat 04-Feb-23 07:42:43

Good morning all from my room in the sky, its still dark here and I can see the lights twinkling all over Glasgow. I thought I might get home today, but not to be.

GM, I hate waiting for workmen, but on Wednesday morning I had a delivery slot of 7am- 1pm. At 7am, I received a text in hospital saying it would be arriving in five minutes. I tried to phone DH, who was doing his ablutions. Too late, they were already at the door!

Slightly better news, all is not quite resolved, but we are getting there.
Apparently one of my drugs is unsuitable for me and compounded by the fact the dosage is very high. The consultant was quite shocked.
It has been stopped immediately and a new one starts this morning.
This may be the reason for the serious fluctuations in my BP, causing my frequent dizziness.

Furthermore, my scans are better than anticipated, no leaking valves, clear arteries, just the heart's ability to pump blood compromised.
Its better news than anticipated.
Initially, I was told I couldn't drive, the thought of losing my independence really upset me.
However, what was actually said was that I was not to drive if I was unwell, not stop driving all together.

I have been gently reminded that I have to slow down and pace myself, with plenty of rest. Easier said than done!
There is one other piece of good news. I have been advised that, after 5 years of sobriety, I AM ALLOWED 5 UNITS OF ALCOHOL PER WEEK! Oh how I have missed a glass of a crisp, white wine!

I haven't read any posts, but its drugs and BP round. I will be back.

Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Sat 04-Feb-23 07:38:15

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I've been asked to do another shift today in the community café. I'll bake first.
I have a pile of veg to use up so batch soup and sauce making later.
Should I plant seeds? Swithering while watching the weed seeds popping up.hmm

I wouldn't be impressed by that survey gMattie. I wonder what his report will look like.

Good luck Ash with your soak away.
Have a happy day everyone.

Pittcity Sat 04-Feb-23 07:36:23

Good morning from just dawning Colchester. Another dry mild day promised. I have washing to put on the line that I cleaned yesterday.
DGS stayed here last night. He and DH have gone fishing for the day. DS is home for the weekend but he'll catch up on sleep that he doesn't get during the week.
I need to sort out the freezer and go to Aldi again. Where does all the food go?
Love to all 🦩 x
