Good morning from the South Downs. Dull and mild today with little wind, so will go into the garden.
Enjoyed my evening with my sister, where we had much merriment reading our school reports, we were in classes of 40+, so you have to wonder if the teacher even knew us at all.
Lots of letters written by long dead folk, including many from an Uncle to an Aunt from Osaka as a prisoner of war. My goodness I suspect that many people today would be incapable of putting so much descriptive emotion on paper in 30 words (allowance). All in pencil!
It is now my task to identify long ago relatives and friends and write a synopsis on them. That should keep me occupied for the next decade, if I live that long.
Lamb Tagine and saffron rice for dinner.
Have a good one folks!
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks dry, still quite dark.
Frustrating day yesterday with interruptions meaning I accomplished far less than I had hoped to. Never mind, a different day today as our not so Littlest and his minders will be here for most of it. We’ll try to keep up with them on a beach walk, hope it stays reasonably fine. After lunch some time here when I’m sure there will be a demonstration of Lego prowess and how to create the most chaos in the shortest amount of time. Will we mind? Of course not. Looking forward to every minute.
That surveyor wasn’t doing the best job for his clients grandmattie, pleased your enjoyed your meal. Another one here not making it into the garden bluebalou, I’m waiting for some sunshine I think. Next week maybe. I’ve been thinking of marydoll and hope she has had some rest.
Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.
Good Morning all from a very dark Severnside.
It looks promising sunshine wise over the weekend so I’ll be joining you in the garden BlueBalou. Everything looks so untidy and if I don’t do something soon I won’t be able to see the bulbs come up.
I got my shopping sorted yesterday with a new lead for iPad and then a venture into Hobbycraft because I wanted one thing and came out with a bag full 🤣
Have a good day all 🌺🦩
Morning Mick and all
Still dark here, off to Aldi this morning then to the butcher’s and greengrocers down the road. I should probably get reacquainted with the washing machine and iron later 🤣
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️🦩
Good morning Mick and all from Inverness where we’ve a forecast high today of 10º but with wind and rain to go with it.
It sounds like things are moving quickly gMattie, also pleased you had a good day yesterday
I’ll be going into town for my usual Saturday morning browse around and if the weather isn’t too bad I’m hoping to have a potter in the garden later. Hope you manage to get started on your garden too Bluebalou and if not you enjoy the painting instead
Hope you sleep better tonight Sar
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from Essex by the sea.
I didn't sleep well, sometimes I don't feel able to switch off my brain.
A few bits to buy this morning and for DH rugby to watch this afternoon.
This evening there is a 'do' at the yacht club, I have said I will drive.
SIL arrived home from India yesterday after a few days there working. DD1 said he was shattered.
I wish everyone a happy weekend xx
Good morning all!
I intend to get started on the garden tidy today, I keep putting it off 🙄, mainly because I get so puffed.
I also want to start a painting by numbers too - I was a child the last time I did one! Perhaps that will encourage me to do more watercolours too. It’s in acrylics so something a bit different.
Apart from that nothing happening!
I hope the weekend goes well for you all x
Good morning Mick, grandMattie and all to follow from Shropshire.
DH has a speed awareness course over the border in North Wales this morning to which we will need to set off shortly.
While he is learning the error of his ways I will pop into the nearest town for some groceries and a coffee stop.
We are meeting DH and the children for lunch then we are taking H to a birthday party. It is for a little girl he has made friends with at the playgroup we take him to.We will meet DD to hand H over half way between their house and the party venue. Then home to no doubt fall asleep in front of the tv!
My thoughts to all unwell and with worries about family members.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning from a dark, dry and mildish (8deg) Sarthe.
How irritating, grandMattie, regarding the surveyor! It sounds as if he was unaware of for whom the survey was being carried out!
Our soakaway has improved but will require further work according to the French farmer friend of our cleaner/gardener, who carried out the work. Last night DH was shattered from helping them both but then hasn’t slept well. I hope he isn’t worrying about it.
Yesterday, I spoke to a very dear friend of ours (my best friend from school) whose husband has stage 4 oesophageal cancer, only diagnosed in November and it’s inoperable. Her family have had their share of tragedy. Her older brother, one of DH's best friends, died of mesothelioma in his twenties, cutting short a promising career in electronics in Montreal. She was remarkably stoic and eager to hear about my recent medical experiences.
Enjoy whatever the weekend brings! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning from a dark, overcast E Kent.
The buyers’ surveyor naturally came at the end of the two-hour window I’d been given, leaving me waiting… I hate 5hat.
He seemed not really to know what he was doing, asking me if I was re-mortgaging the house! He also too too much time for a valuation and not enough for a proper survey.
I started to sort out yet another cupboard full of stuff. I also have a date to visit Bristol where DD will arrange viewings. I’ll get the tickets this morning.
DGS came over for dinner at a local Pizza restaurant. I invited AM, Philip’s girlfriend. A really lovely girl, who has stayed in touch and visits regularly. I gave her a mountain of bits for her MS charity where she works - she is also affected.
All in all a pleasant day.
Today, using home visit and more sorting, interspersed with sewing. Half last night’s pizza for dinner…
I hope everyone will have a gentle day, with improvement in health, hawith family, etc.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
