Good morning everyone from a bright and frosty Northampton, 0° outside at the moment. Not going to yoga this morning as my lift has a different appointment, and I cannot be bothered to get myself up and ready for the early bus. Instead I shall go to Knit and Natter at the pub later, not been for a couple of weeks.

Then I shall head down to Next where I tried some clothes on last Friday, as I fear I may have lost my gold necklace there while trying clothes on. I realised late yesterday morning that it wasn't around my neck and was missing - it is a necklace I wear all the time. I searched the house, including stripping the bed, and need to have another search of the garden, as I cut the grass on Saturday.

The necklace has sentimental connections for me, as late DH bought it for me when he was working in Abu Dhabi back in the 1970s. If it's gone it's gone; I shall be upset, but nothing else I can do, just one of those things.

Enjoyed my film yesterday - 'The Fabelmans' - a lovely gentle story of Steven Spielberg's early life and how he became fascinated by film as a child. He seemed to spend most of his childhood making home movies.

Glad that Marydoll is feeling better, long may it continue.

May Monday smile on us all.

Good morning from the South Downs. A sparkling late winters morning, just back from walking the dog, and came through the garden, all the Coum and snowdrops making such a pretty display.

A quick skim seems to show that everyone is in fine fettle which is good to know.

A housework sort of day today after yesterdays visit from all the family for a meal.

Haven’t seen how the world is fairing yet except ugs news of an earthquake in Turkey. Mother Nature throws enough at us I think without us idiots adding to it.

Enjoy this glorious day one and all.

Good morning from a lovely sunny morning here in Suffolk. We had an interesting dog walk yesterday along one of our regular footpaths along the field just beyond our garden.

We first met 2 women from the village, which is a mile or so from our cottage who had been to look at the snowdrops in our dell. One moved into the village 19 years ago and was recommended to look at our snowdrops in what was described to her as ‘ the plague pit’! We have lived here for nearly 39 years and have never heard it so described before… but where we are, just a medieval church and the row of 4 cottages is known as a plague village when the village was moved away from the original after the plague. Who knows?

And then we met another villager we know well who told us the farmer M has said that we will have snow, and quite a lot of it,on the 17th. So,watch this space and we’ll watch the weather forecast.

Now for a second cup of tea and make the porridge.

Hope that there is some sunshine in everyone’s day today.

Good morning from a frosty Black country.
A restless nights sleep woke a couple of times but it didn't help having a sinus headache before I went to bed, will get outside and hopefully it will clear.
A trip to the charity shop again another bag to take.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Monday everyone and may you all find some ☀️

GrannySomerset Mon 06-Feb-23 08:27:02

U3A trip to Wells - Cathedral tour plus guided walk, followed by lunch somewhere - so must get going. This will be quite a demanding morning for me so hope I am up to it. DD and DSiL left at 6.30 am so am thrown by such an early start but hope to survive. Flower club tonight if I am still awake!

Good news from Marydoll and hope improvement continues with input from Nurse Dollie. Meanwhile I am still processing last night’s shocking ending to Happy Valley.

Jaxjacky Mon 06-Feb-23 08:20:01

Morning from -1 in S Hampshire, stunning picture Blue.
Good luck with your stepfathers appointment Urms I’ve just seen the tragic news from Turkey.
Volunteer phones today, a couple of other calls to make and pub quiz tonight for us., MrJ has a nurse visit.
Enjoy your day if possible 🦩🦩.

dragonfly46 Mon 06-Feb-23 08:09:48

Good morning from sunny Essex.

Trip to Tesco this morning to buy washing up liquid as DD doesn’t seem to have any. Then dog walking which will involve a number of stops as everyone want to Pat him.

This evening I a meeting DD in Clapham to go to a show. I hope I manage to stay awake.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Forsythia Mon 06-Feb-23 08:03:54

Good morning from the south coast where, after red sky at night, we’ve woken to a frost on the lawns and a cold snap. Today, a GP appointment for DH and a bit more sorting out for the charity shop box for me to deliver to them later. Otherwise, a fairly quiet day I suspect.
Hope everyone enjoys their day as much as they can.

Marydoll Mon 06-Feb-23 08:02:07

Good morning all from Glasgow, its 5°C.

Good to hear of all the busyness.
Ash, migraines are so debilitating, it used to take days before I felt better.

I'm under doctors orders to rest, no gadding about.
DH and I had an upsetting conversation last night. I hadn't realised how ill I was and how it was affecting him. I had retreated into my own wee world, ( the only way, I could cope), he said I had lost my spark and had become a very, elderly lady, unable to do much.
Fortunately, I feel a difference on waking this morning, the terrible brain fog is lifting and the chronic breathlessness has eased.
I have so much to be thankful for, much longer on that medication and the consequences would have been unthinkable.

My pals across the road sent over beautiful roses, (my favourite) and a visit from DS1, DD and Dollie just made my day.
The icing on the cake, we sang a duet together.
Many years ago, my class sang The Song of The Clyde for a Scottish Assembly and last week, Dollie's class did the same. She was word perfect, I had forgotten many of the words! 😄

I wish you all the best of days, DH is painting the newly plastered ceiling. I shall retreat somewhere and bite my tongue. 😇
My very best wishes to all, who are poorly. 💐

Good morning all from bright but very chilly Harrogate. We have a stunning sky of pink and purple with a full moon.Welcome Fancythat hope to hear more from you.
Spectacular photo Bluebalou.
Hope your DD has found the right flat for you GrandMattie it will be good not to have to worry about where you are going to live.
Today is my day on the phone - hard work chatting! My school friend has just been diagnosed with Diabetes 2 she has to find out how she deals with it. Later I generally catch up with my sisters. It’s amazing what we can do while the washing machine gets on with the washing.
Looking forward to hearing how Marydoll is getting on after her hospital stay.
Have the best day possible folks

Morning Mick, morning All from a clear, frosty corner of Somerset

Enjoyed some gaeden pottering yesterday, I forget how it lifts my spirits. Had a good chat with our teenagers and their dad over our meal early evening, every scrap disappeared, phew. Our elder granddaughter is in a geography field trip this week, sensible girl that she is her packing list included thermals.

Not a plan or a ‘need’ today other than to turn on the washing machine. Maybe a well wrapped up walk and I quite fancy turning out some drawers. Not like me at all!

Take care everyone. Hope Monday is good to us all.

Kalu Mon 06-Feb-23 07:53:08

Good morning from Glasgow. A beautiful crimson sunrise here which doesn’t bode well but even though it may be a bad omen, it’s a lovely sight to wake up to.
Your sunset last night really was spectacular Blue

Some basic housework and a visit to the bank later are my only plans for today. The amaryllis I potted early last month have been a bit slow to grow but the double headed white is in full bloom now and is a beauty.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Urmstongran Mon 06-Feb-23 07:52:29

No Matt = Monday.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry but seems chilly out as the rooftops are frosty again. Like you Ashcombe we had the most spectacular fiery orange sunset around 5pm last night. Nature at her most spectacular.

We are taking my stepfather over to Wythenshawe hospital this morning for a follow up ENT appointment from which we expect him to be discharged as he has had no further episodes.

Wyllow I think you’re having a colonoscopy? If you have it without sedation, just a mild prick of diazepam like I’ve had on a few occasions in the past, you can drive yourself home after the cup of tea and a biscuit!

Awful reports of an earthquake in Turkey this morning with over 500 people dead. Tragic.

Stilllearning Mon 06-Feb-23 07:51:27

Morning from S Lanarkshire where I was so pleased to see the sky beginning to lighten shortly before 7am.

A pleasant weekend and now back to childminding later today, thank goodness the roads are okay. I’ll be making a detour to drop off sponsor money to one of my DGDs who stayed up all night (in school) on Friday to raise money for one of their charities. I admire the teachers’ commitment but I have reservations about the choice of activity!

Loved Happy Valley ending last night, so good it wasn’t a ‘let down’.

Wishing everyone a pleasant day, you’re doing well Ashcombe, hope that continues 🦩

brook2704 Mon 06-Feb-23 07:45:40

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it promises to be a dry day, cold and windy though
A gorgeous picture Blue, thanks
A run of bad luck there Pittcity hope you can get things fixed ok
I’m off to the gym today for an aerobics class followed by a dip in the pool. I enjoy the socialising and seeing all my gym buddies as much as doing the classes. I’ll pop to Tesco afterwards for a bit of shopping and then home early afternoon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings💐

Chrissielou Mon 06-Feb-23 07:40:23

A very frosty morning here in rural West Oxfordshire. A lovely day yesterday with the sun shining for our long dog walk over the fields.
Another fan of Happy Valley and I too went to sleep with rather shocking images in my head!
A work day, at least I'm at home. Looking forward to weekend as both DSs have birthdays this week and we are out for a celebration meal together.
I wish you all a peaceful day.

NannyJan53 Mon 06-Feb-23 07:40:05

Good morning from a frosty Black Country.

Monday morning walk, then probably ironing this afternoon, as it has been looking at me for at least 2 weeks! Busy week, so it's this afternoon or not at all!

Just simmered the chicken for stock, and chopped vegetables to make chicken and vegetable soup with pearl barley. That is our lunch until Thursday for both of us.

Thinking of Marydoll and hoping she has had a good night.

Wishing you all a pleasant day

Pittcity Mon 06-Feb-23 07:36:17

Good morning from a just above freezing Colchester. 8°, dry and sunny later.
Yesterday we had 3 things break on us, pressure washer, battery charger and leaky dishwasher. So it's repair or replace today.
Otherwise no plans.
Love to all 🦩 x

Wyllow3 Mon 06-Feb-23 07:29:30

Morning from a sunrise in S Yorks.

woke early with pouncing on the phone at 8.30 to book hospital procedure, no doubt a queue, I missed a call yesterday but no ring backs till Monday, bother. Its a 2 week appointment thingy and yesterday a lovely quaker offered to collect me and take me home after it. (Family too far away, was not sure what to do).

GMattie how lovely to have had your DD doing the "flat spotting" leg work for you. Spectacular photo there Blue.

May days work out as planned and poorlies have a decent enoough day.

Susan56 Mon 06-Feb-23 07:28:43

GrannyGravy13 Mon 06-Feb-23 07:25:19

The full moon is so bright and clear over my garden this morning. I am off to the gym this morning and then I will reacquaint myself with the iron and ironing board this afternoon, how exciting 🤣

I hope Marydoll has had a better night 🌸

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Grandmadinosaur Mon 06-Feb-23 07:20:24

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. The moon is still very bright here.

I didn’t sleep too well last night. Don’t know why. I woke at 2 and had the events of Happy Valley going around in my head.

Yesterday we had a lovely lunch with the family. The children were a delight and GS was very happy as the restaurant had a box of Lego for children to play with that kept him busy! Great idea. It was a joint celebration for DIL and DS birthdays who are a week apart. It is DS’s today - 35 years old. He has the day off and we will go across later with presents and we will have fizz and cake. Apart from that I also have my hair appt late morning.

Have a good day everyone.

baubles Mon 06-Feb-23 07:01:42

Good morning all from still dark South Lanarkshire.

I’m woozy from a night of disturbing dreams but will have to get up and organise myself for work.

Have the best day possible everyone.

BlueBalou Mon 06-Feb-23 07:01:22

Good morning, it’s a very frosty-4° here on the hill in Wiltshire. Last night’s sky at sunset was spectacular!
I did quite a lot of tidying in the garden yesterday, it’s a start and certainly looks better. More of that today and my gardener neighbours are coming to help me with the back garden, I want to redesign it because it’s too bitty and messy.
The new painting by numbers will have to wait a wee bit longer!
I hope you all have a good week x

kittylester Mon 06-Feb-23 06:47:57

Good morning all from North Leicestershire.

Dh is off to the gym and then trying to book a hospital appointment while I will be volunteering, on zoom, from the comfort of our lounge. It's not perfect but hopefully is helpful for the participants.

Have a good day everyone.
