Same here HowVeryDareYou, but almost overnight, no build-up. Complete full-stop.

Fan on the desk at work, switched on and off all day. Nothing else much though. I was lucky.

Good advice to me was when in bed & overheating, just fold the duvet back on itself from the corner - i.e. make a triangle. Easier to fold back when cold 5 minutes later!

Good luck those going through it. I was lucky. Few sy,pmptoms, no HRT. Although my girls said they thought I became very selfish at the time. Moi?

One minute I’m putting layers on and the next am tearing them off again.

I had quite an easy ride really- no hot flushes, no nothing. But my daughter is now going through it, I suspect. Her moods are all over the place. She’s a difficult girl at the best of times, so you can well imagine 😫

Is that you Mum? 😆

HowVeryDareYou

I'm 63, and my periods didn't stop until I was 59 1/2! The last 6 years were terrible.

I was 56 before mine stopped.

I can't wait

Mine seem to be getting worse in the build up

I've been post menopausal for a long time. So good to have no worries about time of the month.
A women's sports team are now wearing black shorts because of the anxiety of 'showing' during a period.
I remember those anxieties.

MrsKen33 Mon 06-Feb-23 13:38:22

Yes, I had a hysterectomy at age 35. Very liberating.

granzilla Mon 06-Feb-23 12:47:08

The menopause was my best friend too, 30 years ago.

sodapop Mon 06-Feb-23 12:30:53

Haven't needed to use that phrase for over 30 years, well not for me anyway. Having a hysterectomy was one of the best things I did, changed my life.

timetogo2016 Mon 06-Feb-23 10:56:49

LOL,i know exactly what you mean granzilla.
Weve had the same conversation.

granzilla Mon 06-Feb-23 10:33:20

I was just about to reorder our monthly prescriptions on line and
I said to DH 'It's that time of the month again'.
We looked at each other and laughed, remembering when that meant something quite different. smile
