Anyone done this and have you won anything?

Floradora9 Tue 14-Feb-23 21:45:32

One good thing about them is they send you a birthday card . I got so few this past year it made up a firth of my display.

I’ve just remembered that I did win £1,000 the other year.

I won £10 the first month I was in. a friend tells me she wins quite often. I will leave it to the end of the year and probably cancel it.

PerkyPiggy Sat 11-Feb-23 23:19:10

Sorry, 4 separate payments.

PerkyPiggy Sat 11-Feb-23 23:18:34

I've been playing it for about 10 years through two separate addresses. I've won about £40 in three £10 payments. I'll carry on playing it for now.

I'm just on the cusp of cancelling it. Have won a few tenders but not enough to contain my interest.

Ziplok Sat 11-Feb-23 22:18:52

No. Not convinced that anyone is likely to get a big win. Breaking even is hardly a reason for doing it, is it?

NanKate Sat 11-Feb-23 21:21:06

My DH said I had more of a chance being hit by an asteroid than having a big win on the Lottery. 💥

Moneyboss123 Sat 11-Feb-23 21:15:04

I've been doing it for a few years and have had quite a few £10 wins.

Susan56 Sat 11-Feb-23 21:08:34

We have won £1000 and several £10

nadateturbe Sat 11-Feb-23 20:46:02

I was going to, but the "UK" lottery excludes Northern Ireland.
Quel surprise.

We've been in it for quite a few years. Every now and then we win a tenner which is nice - usually celebrate with a coffee out so that takes care of that! As George'sGran says, more of a donation really.

Been in it about 5 years, won £10 a couple of times and thought of packing in when i won £1000 two years ago.

Blondiescot Sat 11-Feb-23 20:35:57

I've never played it myself, but our current next-door neighbours bought the house several years ago with their winnings from the Postcode Lottery (so it was a fairly substantial sum!)

Harris27 Sat 11-Feb-23 20:14:38

Yes I’ve won a few £10 wins just last week I won £10.

62Granny Sat 11-Feb-23 19:55:27

Yes I have won a few £10.00,(3/4) we have been doing it for 5 years. There was a big winner near us a few years before I started. I listened to a speaker a few years ago he was from a charity who transported blood and baby milk between hospitals by motorbike they were all volunteers but got support from the postcode lottery to help with mileage and wear and tear on their motorbikes. Made me want to continue supporting these small charities by entering.

MiniMoon Sat 11-Feb-23 19:41:39

We've been doing it since it started. We've had the odd £10 now and then, but no big wins.

grannypiper Sat 11-Feb-23 19:34:35

I have won 7 lots of £10 but that is over a nine year period. Might be time to cancel, but of course my postcode would win then but as i don't live there anymore i doubt i would hear anything if my e neighbours did win.

Visgir1 Sat 11-Feb-23 19:32:26

I know a Mother and daughter who won a substantial amount about 4 years ago. Completely changed their lives. Pleased for them.

henetha Sat 11-Feb-23 19:21:57

Ive never done it, but my grandson -in-law won a big prize a few years ago.

Georgesgran Sat 11-Feb-23 18:49:14

I think the odds of winning are around 1.2million to one, so hardly surprising to hear of no wins. I believe at least a third goes to charity, so I’d consider it a kind of donation with the chance of a win.

LadyGracie Sat 11-Feb-23 18:35:54

I did it for a while, didn't win so I gave up.
I have more luck on the premium bonds.

tanith Sat 11-Feb-23 18:23:13

I did it for a whole year didn't win a bean.

Shinamae Sat 11-Feb-23 18:08:20

Did it for about eight months didn’t win anything so came out of it which was quite difficult to do actually…..

MayBee70 Sat 11-Feb-23 18:06:02

I win £10 every so often. I realised that you need lots of people in your postcode area to be in it and I think there’s just me. One Christmas I gave my kids £60 so we could all do it for six months and split the money if we won but no one did. I’m the only one that continued with it. At least the money goes to good causes I suppose.
