Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark outside and signs of fog as well here in brackley .
Today , I do not feel 100% as I had a bad case of diarrhea, which has effected my system ,a case of laundry day today and clean up for me and forget any trip out.
Take Care,
Mick

Taichinan Tue 14-Feb-23 15:58:25

DianneAngel I love Spike Milligan 🤣🤣🤣. Actually I left no clothing behind - it wasn't warm enough!
Urms it's just six minutes in the car along country lanes. In spite of the high dunes it is always surprisingly busy - but there's lots of space, particularly when the tide's out as it was yesterday. We really are so lucky here even though we rarely get 'proper summer weather'

DianneAngel Tue 14-Feb-23 13:03:09

Taichinan,
I must go down to the sea again,
I left my vest and socks there.
I wonder if they're dry!
Spike Milligan. hugs

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
Meeting with other ‘facilitator’ for music club today before the event actually kicks off. He’s a bit of a fuss pot so don’t know what we are to discuss, it’s working well as far as I’m concerned and I’m on the desk today. Need to get my Carmen song props out, rose, shawl etc😁
Poor DD still frustrated by problems selling her flat here. Mine to her and others Valentines arrived on Sunday and Monday!
Thought I would have an early night for a change last night and turned in around 10 but what with reading and my IPad, it didn’t make much difference.
So sorry you have diarrhoea Mick, horrid and weakening.
Lovely pic Taichinan and Bon Voyage grandMattie (Duolingo is working wonders!)

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 14-Feb-23 10:03:08

Good Morning from Harrogate where the frost has thawed and the fog has gone and the sun is trying to shine!
Hope you feel better soon Mick.
Safe journey GrandMattie take the opportunity to relax!
You certainly are now being taken care of at your surgery Marydoll with a face to face appointment as well!
Today - another trip to Ripon, on the way back we shall pick up the lawnmower and garden tool which will have been sharpened ready for the spring weather and work in the garden. We are basically on call for when DD1 needs us to look after DGD, but we are not far away
Have the best day possible folks

Such a simple thing to do Dragonfly but a lovely way to connect/share with others. A bunch of sunny daffodils would put a smile on my face.

Jaxjacky Tue 14-Feb-23 10:01:25

Glorious Taichinan thank you for sharing.

Urmstongran Tue 14-Feb-23 09:32:25

Are you far from that beautiful beach Taichinan? It looks remote and beautiful. No wonder your mind is calling you back there today! I’d love to be near the sea. Being beside water is just so therapeutic and that sky! Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

Urmstongran Tue 14-Feb-23 09:29:16

A good deed never goes unpunished dragonfly - how lovely to share your daffodils! Small acts of kindness especially when random are a delight to witness or to instigate.
😊

Good morning from a sunny but frosty NE.
Washing day but I will have to take painkillers to manage as my back is very painful. The last time I had pain like this I developed shingles, I have had the vaccination but apparently it is not 100% guarantee against reoccurrence. My neighbour has just recovered from a bout of it.
Safe travels to those on the move and welcome home to Ashcombe

Taichinan Tue 14-Feb-23 09:08:28

Oh no! I've lost my post! Why am I so stupid!! Entirely my own fault, but Grrrr!
Anyway, good morning from a very frosty Angus coast. The frost was unexpected after such a glorious day yesterday. I hope to attach a couple of photos taken on my beach walk yesterday, but as I am being a real fumble thumb today ........
Sorry to hear you're unwell Mick. I read yesterday that norovirus is making its winter appearance amongst the elderly population, so stay home and warm and drink lots. Safe journey grandmattie and happy flat hunting. That sounds as if it was the childminding day from hell Grandmabatty. I bet you enjoyed that wine! Ash I am honoured that you confused my name with Ekwanimity - and what a wonderful welcome home that was from your neighbour.
The walk along the beach was glorious yesterday, as was the walk back to the car along the little river behind the dunes. There was no sight of the resident swans though, which was a bit disappointing. And then it was home to a lovely big bowl of buttery carrot soup. What more could a body ask for!
Today, no plans. The beach beckons my mind, but my body says "not today thanks" so I shall "potter" and enjoy more soup and also a large bowl of leftover tuna and farfalle salad. No cooking!
Have a good day everyone, no matter what you're up to x

Jaxjacky Tue 14-Feb-23 09:04:13

Good morning from the sun breaking through in S Hampshire. Safe journey gMattie. Hope you feel better soon Mick and those on grandparent duties have an easier and fun day today.
I had my nose cauterised in two places yesterday, so am feeling a touch delicate, an easy day looms. Tomorrow dentist and hairdresser.
Enjoy meals out and family events today.

I had my car cleaned the other day Kalu. A lovely girl was cleaning it when I got back and as I had bought 4 bunches of daffodils I gave her one. She was so thrilled she said it made her week. It gave me a warm fuzzy feeling!

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very misty here too.
Coffee this morning with a friend and history Society this evening.
My tickets for my holiday next week arrived yesterday so I need to print them off. I know they’ll be on my phone but I’m always worried it won’t work at the crucial time.
Sorry to hear you are unwell*Mick*. Lots of advice on here.
Safe travels, happy grand parenting and have a good day everyone.

BlueSapphire Tue 14-Feb-23 08:56:10

Good morning everyone from a grey and misty Northampton. Had been expecting sunshine and have a load of washing ready to go in the machine, but will not bother today.

Am rather concerned as woke up to loud scratching noises coming from the loft above DD's old bedroom. Think it might be squirrels, but have messaged DS to see if he can come down to investigate before I get the pest man in. There is no way I can get up into the loft myself. Have popped outside to see if I could see anything, and yes, there was a squirrel sat on the roof......

So it will be a quiet morning of tidying up and pottering, an early lunch, and then a health walk this afternoon.

Ladyleftfieldlover, I watched 'Now, Voyager at the weekend, and rather enjoyed it.

Hope Valentine's Day treats us all well. Poignant memories here, DH always used to buy me red roses and take me out for lunch.

ginny Tue 14-Feb-23 08:51:38

Good morning.
I have a nail appointment today so will wander down to the town a little early. We fancy toad in the hole for dinner so will buy some good butchers sausages.
We have a new Community Fridge by the library and I have a couple of items to drop in there.
If the weather stays good maybe there will be a bit of tidying in the garden.

Hope Tuesday is kind to you all.

EkwaNimitee Tue 14-Feb-23 08:34:46

Good Morning Mick and everyone from sunny but very frosty Carlisle. I hope my car windscreen defrosts itself before I have to go out shortly....to collect new glasses which I hope will be ok. I loath eye tests, all that deciding which letter is sharper than the other so I always worry that I've got a correct prescription.

I do hope you're on the mend Mick, lots of liquid and taking it easy for you as others have said.
Ashcombe, I have to admit it was easier for us with the night ferry as we had a caravan. We would arrive before dark and park up at the port along with all the other tuggers and chuggers. Of course, at the other end there was a bit of driving in the dark. In the end, we got fed up with the short driving days (it would be winter) and the limited number of campsites open and used the Santander ferry. Though that meant braving the Bay of Biscay. It doesn't have a bad rep for nothing I can assure you!

I hope you all have a good day, I'm off to get those new specs.

Urmstongran Tue 14-Feb-23 08:19:08

Aw that was a really nice gesture Kalu. 😊

Marydoll Tue 14-Feb-23 08:14:48

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 6°C.

Sorry to hear you are unwell, Mick, plenty of fluids and and easy day for you.

Susan and GMB, a tiring day ahead for you.
What a lovely young man your grandson is, Greyduster. You must be so proud of him.

Yesterday, I had a telephone consultation with yet another new GP at our surgery. She jokingly asked what on earth they were going to do with me!.
It's too risky for me to stop the medication, which is making me so unwell, due to the benefits outweighing the horrible side effects. I need to ride it out! 😭
However, she thinks that there have been so many changes in heart medication in recent months, that my system has been affected ( is all over the place) and we need to wait until things settle down.
She did increase the dosage of one of my other heart drugs, as my BP is going up and down like the proverbial yoyo, which may be partly to blame for how unwell I feel. She was rather concerned about this.
After checking that I was recording my BP as asked, she said that she was giving me a face to face appointment for next week, fitted in with my nurse appointment, to check my BP. How accommodating!
Yet again, I struck gold there! I've seen more of these new (a pair of fresh eyes) GPs, than I have seen my own GP, since the beginning of the Pandemic.
In fact, I haven't seen him at all!

I then mentioned the jury duty worry.
Goodness, you are too unwell, would you like me to write a letter? All that angst was unnecessary.
I have duly emailed the court, so will wait and hear what will happen next. 🤞

The night I was admitted to hospital, a friend phoned me to say that he was messaging from another Glasgow hospital, where his wife had just been admitted.
I received a phone call yesterday, to say she is now on palliative care, which reduced me to tears. She has fought so hard after a transplant, ten years ago.
I realise how fortunate I am, to have actually managed come out of hospital, but so sad for my friend. And somewhat guilty.

GM, I hope your journey isn't too stressful and time passes quickly.

I was saddened to read of Megs news yesterday. 💐

To those in the sick bay, wishing you a gentle day.
Enjoy your day folks.

Georgesgran Tue 14-Feb-23 08:14:48

Good morning from Durham. It’s very cold and there’s been a heavy frost. Still nursing my cold and absolutely fed up being poorly and it’s only day 3!
I can recommend Imodium Mick - I have IBS and it’s the only solution - I carry it in every bag and in my car too!
Off to take more Day Nurse now.
Best wishes to all. X

Gingster Tue 14-Feb-23 08:14:04

Good morning all and it’s frosty AGAIN!
Such a beautiful day yesterday. Dh and I cleared out the shed In the warm sunshine and had coffee and lunch in the garden.

Today I have Play Reading group and Bridge this afternoon, so I won’t see much of DH on Valentines Day.
Before we were married and both working in London, me at the Whitechapel Hospital and Dh in Barclays Bank at the East End, we used to lunch at the Blind Beggar Pub, famous for the Kray twins. (Still had bullet holes around the walls ).
They did the most delicious veal, ham and egg pie and smoked salmon rolls. So we always replicate this feast on Valentine’s Day. 😂❤️.

Mick take it easy.
GM hope your journey is trouble-free and good luck with your flat-hunting.🤞.
Welcome back to Blighty Ash. 👋
Hope you’re feeling a bit brighter Marydoll. 🙏

Enjoy the day.
