Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside here in brackley and looks a little milder as to temperatures as of late
I did Bicester yesterday as I will do today , have had a phone call from Hospital in relation to surgery they will send full detail by post as I may need to go in a day earlier for a pre op .
Otherwise I am carrying on as normal until these changes happen.
Take Care,
Mick

So glad you’re feeling a little better MD. Hope the flat buying doesn’t have too many hiccups GM. I’ve just been playing Go Fish with my granddaughter. I lost!

Kalu Fri 17-Feb-23 09:06:51

Good morning from Glasgow where it is a windy 7deg. dry and the sun has just broken through.

My trip to TKMaxx was a wasted journey Marydoll. Bedding was a sparse mish mash and clothing was disappointing. You were better off at home.
DD1 will arrive for coffee once she has dropped the girls off at school. I feel for her as the realisation that her first born will be flying the nest when leaving home for university this year, worried about GD2’s upcoming surgery and is peri menopausal to boot, a blether with her Mum helps to put things into perspective as I have been there and done it.

Have a good Friday all whatever your plans are.

Good morning everyone from a grey, damp and windy Northampton. The.usual trip out on the bus this morning; I have an order to collect from M&S, and something to return to Next.

Had a man come yesterday to inspect the loft for invading squirrels, and he says all is ok, but to be aware that this time of year they are looking for nesting sites. I can hear loud scratching again this morning, so I think they are trying to find a way in. He also said the wasps nest was abandoned and safe. I think I need to find a roofing company to see what damage the squirrels are doing and make it secure.

Glad you are feeling better Marydoll, and grandMattie, hope all goes well with your flat purchase.

Taichinan Fri 17-Feb-23 08:57:50

Good morning all. Sunshine, blue skies and a strong wind on the Angus coast - I think Otto must be passing us by.
Tai chi was, as ever, really good yesterday and I then went on to make the usual stops on the weekly shop. As predicted I then slept most of the afternoon, most of the evening and all night! I obviously needed that!!
Today Dancing DG is off up to Inverness to prepare for a show there with the National Youth Dance Company of Scotland on Saturday evening. It's the first if this year's venues and she's very excited. She's certainly following her dream.
It's lovely reading of all your busy-ness and doings with grandchildren and dining out (and climbing into lofts - do take care). Thinking of you in particular Mick as you keep on keeping on towards your op, and grandmattie as you wait to hear about your preferred flat.
Have a good day everyone x

Good morning from a windy, grey W Kent. Off this morning to a new U3A group, we are both going to this and I have a feeling we shall be the oldest ones there, nothing ventured..........
Glad you are feeling a bit better Marydoll, don't do too much all at once.
Hope the viewing goes well gM
Best wishes for the day

SunshineSally Fri 17-Feb-23 08:44:31

Marydoll so glad you’re starting to get your mojo back. Don’t overdo it though. Ooh I love sweet and sour chicken balls and fried rice - haven’t had that for ages! Am salivating now 😋(not a pretty sight!). Enjoy your empty x

Anniebach Fri 17-Feb-23 08:43:17

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

dragonfly46 Fri 17-Feb-23 08:42:37

Pleased you are feeling better Marydoll.

Grammaretto Fri 17-Feb-23 08:38:20

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. The wind was ferocious last night so I could not settle to sleep but as I drifted off I was woken by a loud buzzing. I put the light on and there was a huge wasp on my pillow!
I don't know how it ended up there. Poor thing.

I shall be on the train to Cambridge to stay with my DSis. later today. I hope there's not been too much disruption. I shall meet a pal for coffee first.
Better get packed.
Have a great day everyone if you can.

SunshineSally Fri 17-Feb-23 08:36:47

Good morning from a cloudy south Hants.
Mick it’s good that you have your date for your op. I hope everything goes well for you.
Ashcombe you’ve reminded me that my hair needs a trim too! Glad you’re pleased with your result - always a worry when you go somewhere new. I think the last of the colour will be on the floor when I go.
gMattie Hope the second viewing goes well 🤞. Listen to your gut feeling. You’ll know if it’s the right one. I do feel for you and send you my very best wishes that everything goes well and smoothly for you x.
karmalady be careful! I’m not very good with heights and balance … just the thought of going in the loft fills me with dread! Thankfully we have recently had a loft ladder installed - before that, DH would use his ladder against the wall (and would scrape off the paint on the wall!😡). Whilst I’ve looked in the loft whilst standing on the ladder - I’ve never actually gone in there!
Today I’m preparing desserts - a pavlova and a banoffee pie. They went down well the last time I did it and we’ve a full house at the weekend. I also need to cook my leg of lamb.
DH has just brought me coffee in bed - love him 🥰 - so I shall drink it now, whilst reading through your posts.
Have the best day you can. Thoughts to those who have worries or are unwell 🦩🦩🦩
🤗 and 🌻🌻🌻 for you all x

dragonfly46 Fri 17-Feb-23 08:35:57

Good morning from blustery Leicestershire.

Quick trip to Sainsbury’s this morning then NWR lunch. I started the lunch group a while ago and try to go to different places each time. There are usually at least 6 of us.

Pleased you are getting the details Mick.
Sorry you are stilled stressed GrandMattie. I hope you hear something about the flat today and a long probate isn’t involved.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Susan56 Fri 17-Feb-23 08:33:46

Mary🤣

Glad you’re feeling better🤞🏻

grandMattie Fri 17-Feb-23 08:29:29

So glad, that for whatever reason, you are feeling more yourself, MD. Please don’t overdo it though! Xxx ❤️

Liberty Fri 17-Feb-23 08:27:56

Good morning from a calm and sunny Suffolk,so different from those poor people in windswept areas. It is beginning to feel that Spring will be here soon as we had lots of birdsong at dusk last night and more this morning. So lovely to hear.

Not much planned for today apart from a mooch around a local market and coffee afterwards. But first porridge and then a dog walk.

Hope all have as good a day as possible.

Marydoll Fri 17-Feb-23 08:22:33

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
A very disturbed night, due to the wind and some bizarre dreams.

Glad the hospital are on the ball Mick, You need to be careful not to pick up any bugs beforehand.
To be on the safe side, I know I would be curtailing my outings on public transport, if it was me.

DH is playing his first game of golf of 2023. He has recently refused to play, for fear of something happening to me, if I was left on my own.
It will do us both good. Being stuck with me for eight weeks without a break, is above and beyond his marriage vows.
I'm so looking forward to my empty, as I'm sure he is looking forward to a taste of freedom!!!
I may event attempt to make sweet and sour chicken balls and fried rice for dinner.
Dinner gas been rather ^ make do^, recently! 😁

Yesterday was a much better day for me. I managed to clean the main bathroom properly 😉, without a bad vertigo spell.
DH thinks a quick wipe round with wipes, constitutes a deep clean. 😄
I also made potato scones with the leftover potatoes from dinner! DH was so pleased I was more like my old self!
This was the first day since Christmas, without an attack. It felt so good!

Today, I have nothing planned, a quick turnover of my car's engine, as I'm still not safe to drive yet. The slight feeling of walking on sponges, still persists, but I will hopefully get there, as my body adjusts to the new meds.
For the first time in ages, I feel hopeful.

I asked yesterday, if you had alpacas, Karmalady, because you said you spun the wool yourself. That would be amazing.
As others have said, be careful in the loft.

I haven't read the posts properly yet, so will do so.
I did misread your post Susan. Being emotional, was not what I expected of your DH, after his booster. (Well, we oldies do get them!) 😆
I hope wee H feels better today.

Good luck with the ongoing, house purchase, GM . The system in England seems to be so different from here in Scotland.

Have a good day folks! Thinking of all those with pain ( Harri ) and worries.

Jaxjacky Fri 17-Feb-23 08:21:09

Morning Mick and everyone from a grey S Hampshire, no wind here.
Stress/anxiety can induce labarynthitis gMattie, I hope you find a calmer few minutes today.
Cleaning of door frames, kitchen units and hob this morning, Tesco delivery this afternoon, pub tonight.
Enjoy your day all 🦩🦩

ginny Fri 17-Feb-23 08:17:00

Good morning everyone from a breezy N. Bucks.

I have the whole day to myself. DH has gone to golf and the rest of the family are all away.
Think I’ll just potter and see what activity takes my fancy.
Hope Friday is a good day for all.

Georgesgran Fri 17-Feb-23 08:16:02

Good morning from a very windy Durham - I believe this is Storm Otto with winds of 75 mph! I have sent a third message to the chap supposedly looking at the fence and he has replied that his van is off the road - why don’t people keep others informed?
Coffee out this morning, a quick dog walk and I’ll return said dog to DD2 this afternoon.
Alarming noises from outside, so I shall go and investigate.
Best wishes to all. X

Wyllow3 Fri 17-Feb-23 08:16:01

Morning from an overcast S Yorks. The winds have just started up.

cornergran well done for making a fuss and hope it works out today.

Up early as someone from the sports company is due to put together the treadmill I ordered, in my hope that I'll do enough daily walk each day whist TV is on in the evening. Must get brain in gear but that's in some doubt. No gym, need a day off going out.

Bests for all gransnetters, enjoy family and poorlies take care.

monk08 Fri 17-Feb-23 08:08:51

Good morning all from the Black country, cloudy but windy so have put towels in the wash should dry outside.
No plans other than to take another bag to the charity shop.
Will meet with friends this evening at the club.
Enjoy your Friday whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Alygran Fri 17-Feb-23 08:05:55

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Incredibly strong winds here. There’s lots of banging and creaky noises. Fences and roof still intact (fingers crossed they stay that way).
I haven’t got my car back yet. The garage maintain it’s ok based on the diagnostics on their computer. They are doing a longer test run and rechecking this morning.
DD2 is coming later so I need to get the spare room ready and clean the bathroom etc.
Have a good day everyone.

cornergran Fri 17-Feb-23 08:05:37

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp, draughty corner of Somerset. Fine rain that somehow makes people very wet indeed.

Cards bought yesterday Mr C was pleased to make use of the coffee deal that comes with my SIM contract. The mystery wet patch on a conservatory wall was diagnosed and will be sorted without charge.

Sadly our friend is still living with an unconfirmed fractured hip after falling at the weekend. There is some disagreement over the scan outcome which feels like a re run of her first hip fracture. Hospital transport failed to collect her yesterday. The fracture clinic, a physio, her Home staff and our distraught goddaughter went into battle and she should make it today. Please keep your fingers crossed for her everyone.

Not sure about the shape of our day, may venture to a shopping mall for a wander. If we go soon-ish it won’t be too busy.

Your hospital stay sounds too be well organised mick. Take it easy today grandmattie, hope the second viewing is positive.

Enjoy what you can of the day everyone.

Gingster Fri 17-Feb-23 08:03:20

Good morning all and it feels much milder, thank goodness.
I have Book Club this morning and meet up with our Friday gang, for lunch.

Where is your Thai restaurant, GG? I love Thai food!

Take care those of you in the Storm Otto area.

Safe travelling Sar. Enjoy your time with your family.

Hope all your days are happy ones.❤️

Greyduster Fri 17-Feb-23 07:51:24

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey South Yorkshire. Going to be cloudy all day. Glad the hospital are getting all your ducks in a row, Mick. It was very mild here yesterday - I pottered with the plants on my rockery wall for a while, and then had a walk out. Today I am going to have coffee with my niece and do some shopping at a Lidl near to her house. I wish we had a Lidl - we are up to our okkers in Aldis!
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, Ash, don’t they say?
Have the best day you can folks.

brook2704 Fri 17-Feb-23 07:50:06

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’re getting battered by Storm Otto, I was woken about 5ish with the wind howling and rain on the window but managed to drift back off to sleep again.
I’ll have a quick look outside to check alls ok and then head off to the gym this morning. It’s the circuits class with a very good trainer followed by aqua zumba thus morning. Later on we’re picking up DGS from school, he’s coming for a sleepover as DH is taking him out hiking tomorrow if the weather has improved a bit
Hoping your DGS is feeling better today susan, it’s half term here next week too
Hope the 2nd viewing goes well gMattie everything crossed!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
