Good Morning Saturday 18th February 2023
(71 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry outside here in brackley this morning.
I did not go anywhere yesterday as I felt wobbly, although I have been told get a walking stick but its just the odd moment.
Today, will go to Bicester hopefully see people I have got to know .
Take Care,
Mick
Oh and Happy Birthday Kalu, you wear it well! 🎉🎂
Good morning from South Lanarkshire where we are currently between showers.
We had eldest GC staying overnight on Thursday. DH collected her in the morning after which they walked around the West End taking in the Botanic Gardens before having lunch in our favourite wee place. I was sorry to miss out.
She and I had our nails done yesterday then spent some time on a latch hook kit until it was time to take her home as she was going to watch a rugby match with her Dad. They have season tickets for their Glasgow team, the weather was awful though, rather them than me.
I’ve an appointment today to have my hair cut then we’re back to DD’s to babysit this evening.
No work for two weeks, I’m so looking forward to the break.
Have the best possible day everyone, especially those who are not in the best of health or are coping with sadness or worries.
Happy Birthday Kalu! Have a super day!🎂💐
Happy Birthday Kalu indeed time with family is the best present!
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. I have a feeling it will be a mild day. Take it easy today Mick; let’s get you over those wobbles.
I spent a very nice afternoon with my niece yesterday and her lovely little dog. Every time I see it, I am tempted to get a dog. I called in at Lidl and bought some lovely polyanthus - a pack of ten for just over three pounds. I don’t care for them - they’re a bit ‘in yer face’, but DH did and planted them in a trough by the front door every year with tete a tete daffodils. I like to do things that keep us connected.
Nothing much planned for today but to clean the kitchen and put some petrol in the car.
Have the best day you can folks.
Happy Birthday Kalu 🎁🍾🎂
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning all. Well, there's a yellow warning for snow and ice out for Angus - but look what I've found. My first daffodil has opened its lovely little trumpet with a clarion call of Spring! It does lift my spirits and I sort of feel I need that this morning for some reason. Actually it looks lovely (if cold) out with the sun shining in a blue sky over the sea and hills.
Sorry you're feeling a bit wobbly Mick - I hope it soon passes. A stick probably would be a good idea, but I understand your reluctance. Safe journey back to Kent grandmattie, and fingers crossed. All will be well.
Happy Birthday Kalu - have a lovely day.
I'm not sure what I shall get up to - not a lot probably - just stay home and cosy I think, and potter. Cullen skink for lunch and mince and tatties later sounds like a plan.
Enjoy your days everyone x
Morning from S Lanarkshire, it’s been wet and doesn’t seem promising. I admire the ‘whatever the weather’ walk Momb, I am so weak. Maybe it helps when there are two of you, my sister and her DH do the same.
Happy Birthday Kalu sounds like a perfect day👏🎂.
Have no plans for the weekend so have lots of ‘in home’ plans, hmm, we shall see!
Hope your day works out as you hope Mick and you catch up with friends.
Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a breezy bright Hull.
Happy birthday to your DGC Grandmabatty and Susan. Hope your niece’s new baby is out of NICU soon.
Happy birthday to you too Kalu💐
NannyJan best wishes for your DHs eye procedure.
We have our DD and GDs coming over later and baby B will stay with us while GD1 goes with her Mum to the theatre see a ballet.
We are picking up friends at tea time to go out to our other friend’s 60th birthday meal. He’s the 2nd in our group to turn 60.
We have bought him a large new suitcase so we need to tart it up with ribbons and bows. My friend is coming over with the gift tags she’s made so I’ll leave it her I think.
Have a lovely Saturday with family and friend gatherings and hoping those feeling poorly or sad find something in the day to make them smile. 🌻🌻
Good Morning from S Yorks.
Was in bed tired most of yesterday after an early complex delivery so today I hope to get out to the gym.
Hoping for the best Gmattie and that made me smile about the curtains Ladyleftfieldlover
Have good days with family and outings and best days possible for poorlies.
Good morning from a grey, breezy Colchester. No rain in the forecast but that'll soon change as I've just put a load of washing on the line 😂
DS came home last night with muddy uniform that needs to be clean and dry by tomorrow night. Mum to the rescue.
DH is taking DGS1 fishing today, DS will catch up on sleep and I will be laundrying and food shopping again!
We took the top off of a sick looking crabapple tree yesterday and I think a bird box or food table would be good on the remaining bit of trunk. DH wants to get it removed completely.
Love to all🦩x
Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton. Light showers forecast this morning.
Should clear up by the afternoon, which is lucky as I am off to Premiership rugby again; we are playing Sale Sharks today, who are having a very good season, so fingers crossed. My lovely neighbour also goes so he has offered me a lift there and back. And I shall meet DD and her husband there, who have seats next to me. Shall have a glass of red wine in hand! Those who watch (it's on tv) I sit behind the South stand goalposts!
At lunchtime I have a man coming to inspect the roof, as I heard squirrels trying to get into the loft again yesterday. The pesky critters are dislodging the mortar in their efforts to get in, so hope the roofer can make it secure. Can't do more than that.
Hope that your flat purchase goes through ok grandMattie.
Have a good Saturday everyone.
Happy birthday, Kalu! 🎂🎁🎈🎉
1950 is certainly a good vintage, DH is 73 in June.
Enjoy your day with your family.
Good morning from a grey S Hampshire. Happy Birthday Kalu 🎂🎉🎈enjoy your day. A happy birthday to people’s grandchildren too, have fun with them.
No plans today, other than the paper and I’ve still not decided what we’re eating tonight, a freezer hunt maybe.
You’re having an horrendous time Megs my thoughts are with you 💐.
Good morning all. We woke a little while ago to sun…lovely. Apart from the daily morning dog walk no much planned but we will probably return to Lidl later to get a few more bottles of the Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire region we bought yesterday.
We’ve found in the past that wines from there we have enjoyed are not there when we decide to buy some more weeks or months later.
Hope today is a good one for everyone.
Happy birthday Kalu . Have a lovely day 💐.
I’ll be 73 I. July. 1950 was a good year! 👍
Good morning from a sunny NE where we have gale force winds again after heavy overnight rain.
Yesterday was awful with the wheelie bins blowing about, even though my bin was full it still blew over several times.
Expecting a delivery this morning and then DS and family will visit and probably my sister and BIL.
Good luck with the flat purchase grandMattie, when we sold ours in the Lakes it took a year and there were no chains either side, so much paperwork going back and forth from the solicitors, a real headache.
Have a good day everyone.
Happy birthday Kalu have a lovely day x
Good morning from Glasgow. 8deg. Showery and breezy.
I am enjoying a peacefully quiet kick start espresso processing the realisation I am 73 today. Even as I read that number, I can’t quite believe it refers to me. How did that happen?
Looking forward to a late lunch at ours with DD1 and both girls who have shelved any social plans to share the day with me.
The best birthday present I could ask for.
Basic housework first followed by a relaxing day.
Have a good Saturday all and I hope, a better one for those with troubling times.
Good morning all from my DSis in Cambridge where I finally arrived very late, via London, after an awful train journey blamed on the weather. Most other passengers were unimpressed.
It began with an hour long queue in Edinburgh and then we were funnelled into the next train in the right direction. Very stressful for old ladies. Luckily people were kind and I only take a small light bag. I look at others enormous cases and wonder if they are all going on a year-long cruise!
We shall be making party preparations today for DBiL big day.
Oh NannyJan sorry to hear that your DH has to have his cataract op corrected. We are always told it is so straightforward. I hope this works for him .
Well done gMattie you have achieved a lot in a very short time. I hope the house selling and buying go well.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Good morning all from an overcast North Leicestershire.
It's all go here already. All 3 children have had breakfast and are watching TV in and on our bed. We are having hot dogs for lunch and then they are going home. I will take them as it involves a lovely drive over the local forest.
DS1 will also be here for lunch and then he and DH will go and watch their team get soundly beaten.
Yes I meant to say my thoughts are with you Megs.
Good morning from an overcast Leicestershire.
NWR lunch was a success yesterday, we tried somewhere new and it was lovely.
Today a quick visit to M&S and the obligatory coffee.
Chicken byriani for dinner.
I hope you hear something soon GrandMattie, can’t the estate agent chase it up?
I am not surprised you are feeling wobbly Mick you have a lot on at the moment. Take care of yourself.
