Grammaretto my twin DGS’s were caught up in the train chaos too, but at the other end - they were returning, with two other 14 year olds from a half-term course in the south and got separated when staff prevented too many people getting on the platform. One of them managed to get the attention of a member of staff and explained their age and that one DGS is autistic and they were reunited and put on the next train Phew! They didn’t get home until 10.40 though, instead of 6ish.

Good morning from coastal West Sussex. It is cloudy with a cold wind here. I have been out dog walking and forgot my hat 😕. I have had one dog since Tuesday and she will go home today. She has been very good apart from barking at outside noises - apologies to the neighbours. Last night my friend with three small dogs dropped them off before heading off for a weekend in Amsterdam with her family. I am regretting having the overlap - it was all a bit mad last night and this morning. They all want our undivided attention 😂

I have marmalade to make having found some Seville oranges in Waitrose when I thought the season was over. The last lot is a bit sticky so I will try to remove the pan from the heat as soon as setting point is reached (I hope).

Happy birthday to Kalu. It is my eldest daughter’s birthday too.

When I’m late to the parade there are always so many posts to read which is lovely. I feel mean though when I give a shout out to some posters and not others. I’d love to reply to you all. You’re such a good bunch of people. If I haven’t mentioned you please know I really do enjoy reading what you’re all up to and hope - like Baggs - that some concerns have no foundation.

Good morning Mick and all from a bright northwest coast.
My Dsister from the Deep South and I are having a nice time. Yesterday we had an enjoyable shopping day, she leading me astray and it was nice for her after her recent stresses (When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping 😁)
In the evening we had a meal at a local Italian restaurant which was excellent, better food and value than my recent meal at a ‘fine dining’ restaurant in the city recently. Then home and not
by chance watched Naked Attaction in disbelief, which gave us a laugh.
I had terrible cramp in the night and have been up and down like a yo yo. Seems to happen after alcohol, even though I only had one gin and tonic. Or maybe it’s my statins? Rubbed magnesium spray on the affected areas and drank tonic water.

Off for lunch to nearby stately home soon.
So sorry you felt a bit unsure Mick, do hope all runs smoothly grandMattie and happy birthday Kalu.

Good morning everyone. It’s dry, bright and breezy in my corner od Lancaster. Take it easy Mick perhaps local walks would be best for now. I’ve had to use a walking aid from a young age, I do like walking without it but it’s a question of safety.

I was able to get out for a walk down to the river yesterday. The steam trains are running today so I will try to get some photos on my walk today.

It’s been raining since yesterday evening so I am not tempted to venture out though I could do with some activity. Think that means tackling a wardrobe and admitting that I will never fit in to some favourite clothes and getting a charity shop bag or two filled. Depressing to say farewell to clothes I like but with every drawer and cupboard stuffed it’s time to be honest with myself.

Thinking of you, gMattie and hoping things go smoothly. It’s so hard doing it on your own, however competent you are. Hope we all have a good enough day.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey damp Carlisle.
I've just come back from an early trip to Sainsbury's and am now planning a quiet day of pottering about at any little job that takes my fancy plus reading the papers.

Friday's U3A was successful Stillearning so I shall go again. Friendly people and an interesting talk on Fair trade, something I'm keen on.
Yesterday I drove to Whitehaven where there was a rare exhibition of the works of Percy Kelly, a local lad from a poor family in Workington. He became famous and his works were sought after by the great and the good whereupon he then refused to sell anything! And died in poverty with a cottage full of his works. I would dearly love to own one as very many feature the west Cumbrian area. It was interesting to view these and compare them with what I know the area looks like now.
Afterwards I took a stroll around town. The shopping areas are depressing, so many closed shops, more than when I left nearly two years ago. The magnificent Georgian harbour is still to be appreciated though.

Morning Mick, morning All. Somerset was very damp when we left.

Enjoyed our short wander round remarkably empty shops yesterday morning, curled up with a book and the phone in the afternoon. Our friend finally made it to the fracture clinic after the first transport didn’t arrive. It took a very cross call from our goddaughter backed by a furious staff member from the fracture clinic to sort it. There is a right sacral fracture but fortunately both hips are fine. I’m not sure there will be treatment other than heavy duty painkillers.

Currently sat in the day ward waiting for Mr C to return from his angiogram. We were here at 7.30 and so excited as one blue badge space was vacant. We both relaxed then. Should be home late afternoon if all goes well.

Being wobbly is far from fun mick. I use a stick when the wobblies hit, two advantages, it keeps me steadier and warns other folk I’m not about to break into a run.

Try not to worry grandmattie, I’m sure the estate agent will realise you are an excellent purchaser and do all they can to secure acceptance of your offer. Hope todays trip home is uneventful.

Off to find a coffee now. Hope today is the best it can be for you all.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. We have sun so it’s mild and it’s not windy. A very nice Saturday morning for the Boy Wonder to enjoy his football match. His dad is taking him. This afternoon we are going over to mind the children for a couple of hours - mum & dad have a appointment to look round a kitchen showroom.

Himself will go down into the larder at some point as my stepfather is joining us for dinner again tomorrow. Have a good day folks. x

Good morning from the Boggy Brae. Sun's out, lane is a mud bath, birds singing away – almost spring! There is a bullfinch, no, two bullfinches, in the bullace tree I can see from where I'm sitting. They love the just opening buds.

Had a sob yesterday because BrainTumourDD had not sent any news about GS2's birthday and I worried that she felt too ill. I don't want to pester her with enquiries. This morning she had responded to a Whatsapp post from Minibaggs who has been preparing a vegan birthday feast and a Harry Potter film marathon for her lovely bf. He wasn't allowed to read the HP stories as a child but he's well into them now. I reckon it was the Harry Potter books and films that kept Minibaggs sane (just!) through high school. I remember reading the first one after one of my nephews, then aged eleven (now in his thirties), lent me his copy.

Today I'm going to try and finish my artichoke painting. I'm following a tutorial very slowly. Learning a lot. I'll also continue with my sock knitting – amazing how fast it grows now I've challenged myself to knit at least a round a day. An apple and banana cake might be made....
