Good morning Mick and everyone from a greyish damp Carlisle.
I'm about to go into town to have my hair cut, it's beginning to annoy me so needs some drastic pruning. I have a prescription to pick up and bits and bobs to buy. I'm hoping that might include a sweet pepper but I'm not banking on it due to the current veggie 'crisis'. Then it's back for a little housework and more reading of the sci-fi book I started yesterday. Somewhat hard to grasp some of the odd ideas in it though. I have to admire the imaginations of some authors.
Wishing everyone who has them, success with their medical problems. I'm glad you don't have to add to your stresses by wrestling with problem pharmacies Marydoll.
Happy anniversary to Mr&MrsBaubles, have a lovely day.

Good Morning Wednesday 22nd February 2023
(65 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet outside here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday , I returned via Buckingham on the buses from Bicester because with it being Pancake Day did the cafe I used to go into allot ,as they do them but price and amount of pancakes reduced in quantity from 3 to 2 .
Today , I have my pre op assessment at the Horton Hospital in Banbury early afternoon , readying me for next Monday with the pre tests of which will see whether they admit next week.
It messes my meal routine about as well .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning all. It's absolutely chucking it down with rain this morning, but it is forecast to turn into a sunny afternoon. I hope so because I'm taking my friend to her favourite cafe 'up Country'.
Things are moving forward for you Mick - you'll be glad now when it's all over. You too grandmattie. A couple of days looking after yourself sound like an excellent idea, and not before time! I watched The Piano last week too Mizuna - it was a lovely uplifting programme. What talent lies hidden amongst us. Because if my deafness I can no longer hear music properly so I suppose my attention was more on the people themselves. Music must be a lovely creative outlet for your daughter.
Have a good day everyone, and enjoy your sunshine - in whatever way it comes x
Wishing the Baubles a very Happy Anniversary! 💐❤️🥂
Good morning from a damp underfoot Sefton. Hope it brightens up later but we did need a bit of rain, February has been quite dry.
Zoom dance class very soon, must get a move on. Bit of a garage sort out & tip visit as well this morning & a theatre visit this evening.
Take care all.
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a dull damp Hull.
Happy birthday to your GS Grandmabatty 🎉
Happy anniversary to you both Baubles have a lovely day 🥂💐
Georgesgran your poor little grandsons thank goodness all is well.
Today I need to do some dusting especially in the spare room as my sister is coming up to visit.
I’ll be picking up Grandson from school later. On the way home on Monday I asked him what he would like for tea never expecting an answer but for the first time in his 8 years he said tuna and rice please. I was so chuffed. I’ll ask him again tonight and hope he tells me again. 🤞
Have a lovely day everyone. Thinking of those struggling with illness and family worries. 🌻🌻
Good morning from a Shropshire.
I am going to visit mum with DD1 and the children today.DD2 is meeting us there. We will go out for lunch and then have promised the children a visit to the ice cream farm on the way home.
Hoping for successful GP appointments and pharmacy calls for all who have them.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp South Yorkshire where we had overnight rain. Mick think about wearing a mask while you’re out and about this week, please.
I did a couple of productive hours in the garden yesterday, cut down and got rid of a phygellius that was getting too big for its boots, pruned the roses, cleared a couple of large pots that I borrowed from DD last year and had a general tidy up it was nice to be out in the sun but today I am feeling it and hoping a hot shower and a couple of ibuprofen will put me right. No real plans for today except to sort out the conservatory which has become a bit of a dumping ground this winter.
Have the best day you can folks.
I have a GP appointment to discuss my stubbornly high blood pressure and recently acquired breathlessness and am hoping for a simple solution though I am not optimistic. Then craft group, where I form a slow learner group of one, and singing this afternoon, so a busy day. Fine and calm here, which is good.
Sorry Marydoll is so beset still, though an efficient pharmacy is a help. Don’t envy grandMattie the next few weeks/ months though when we moved in 1996 we managed it in six weeks from putting the house on the market to moving in. The owners of the house we were buying happened to use our solicitor, which helped enormously though we had to have a different one for the purchase. Things seem to be much more complicated now.
Here’s Matt.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s been draining as it’s quite damp out. Alexa tells me it’s 6°C at present with cloud and showers later. Ah well, we’ll be wet inside too as we are meeting friends this afternoon in a good old pub near their house. The half hour walk will do us good. I’m really looking forward to seeing them as we’ve not met up in months. They don’t live far away but Life gets in the way of Life sometimes doesn’t it?
I’ve got cooked veggies left over from last night so will fry them up for tea and send Himself down to the larder for a small piece of gammon to roast, some vine tomatoes and a jar of piccalilli. An easy meal for when we get home.
I tackled my friend about her recent comment on our walk yesterday and I’m pleased to report I feel SO much lighter and we are still good buds. We’ve arranged to meet up next Tuesday lunchtime to see ‘Joyland’ at HOME in Manchester. I just wish being brave didn’t tie me in knots beforehand.
😊
Happy Anniversary Baubles.
Baubles happy anniversary to you both xx
Happy Anniversary Baubles 💐
Good morning Mick and All.
Cloudy in South Bucks.
Marydoll what a stressful time you are having. At last you seem to have a Pharmacy that can meet you needs, hurray.
Kitty hope you get your kitchen sorted out soon.
Off to visit a friend who has just moved into a residential home, which of course won’t be like her own home, but she couldn’t cope on her own.
Then I’ve asked DH to take me out to lunch 😋
Good morning all and it’s dreary here in Essex. Rain forecast later so Dh probably won’t go fishing. He’s having breakfast with his two old school pals first.
Dgd1 is home from Uni for a few days so we’ll go out for lunch somewhere with Dd. She will pick up her little sis from school which will be so exciting for them both ! ❤️.
I loved that book too Bluesapphire
Wishing you all a good day
Bluebalou thank you [flowers}
every little helps
Good morning all from North Ayrshire where there are patches of blue sky between the clouds.
We are about to don our boots for a beach walk. Today is our forty eighth wedding anniversary, we bought each other the same card!
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its only 5°C.
Hoping your appointment goes well today, Mick.
Mizuna, I hope your GP can help you today. There are so many reasons for breathlessness, it's so hard to diagnose the cause and also very debilitating and confidence knocking.
The effort of yesterday's medical appointments have left me very tired and not much further forward.
The two minute walk from the car to the surgery caused my BP to soar to 195, causing some consternation, to say the least!
My GP tried the Eplay manoeuvre in the hope of lessening my vertigo attacks. There seems to also be a problem with my ear.
A week's course of labyrinthitis medication has now been added to my regime, in the hope of easing things. She is throwing everything at the problem.
Still no driving allowed. 😪
However, the main cause of my vertigo seems to be my new heart meds, I have all the classic side effects. Unfortunately the cardiologist feels the risk of another heart attack or stroke is too great, if it is stopped. There are very few options left.
Its a case of weighing things up and finding a balance.
I was discussing my forthcoming RA appointment and saying that my consultant always defers to the cardiologists. My GP agreed, saying they are top of the pecking order, everyone defers to them! They are like gods! 😁
Today I won't manage the Ash Wednesday service, but will watch the live stream, while DH goes, dropping off yet another load of scripts at the new pharmacy. The have been excellent so far. 🤞
I couldn't sit for that length of time in church and have lost my confidence a bit. I'm becoming a bit of a hermit! 😉
Wee Dollie, will be there with the school, I'm annoyed at not seeing her and even more so, that DH will! Grrrr!
Baubles, I envy your trip. We always walked along that beach before breakfast, it's so quiet and peaceful.
Wishing you all the best of days, whatever your plans.
Good morning from Durham where it’s wet and miserable.
Coffee this morning with a friend.
No sign of the fence people yesterday, but I don’t think it’s urgent, now the winds have passed.
Dramas with both DGSs yesterday, elder fell downstairs and baby was poorly at Nursery and had to be collected early, but both ok this morning.
Karma I think the shingles vax is 90+% effective - better than a dose of shingles whatever and is highly recommended.
Hope to hear from MaryD later.
Mick - almost there now. Fingers crossed for your Banbury appointment.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and we’ve had some overnight rain
Hoping all goes well today for you today mick and all is ready for next week
I’m off to the gym this morning, Wednesday is the toughest day with a couple of classes followed by a dip in the pool but I enjoy it, especially the social side This evening we’re off to DD2s for a couple of hours to look after the DGC whilst mum and dad go out.
Happy 4th Birthday to your DGS grandmabatty, it’s nice that your DD is visiting your friend with you too
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
I loved that book BlueSapphire.
Good morning from damp Leicestershire.
We are visiting the podiatrist this morning which will also involve a trip to Marks and a coffee.
I meant to go to Marks yesterday but a friend texted me to go for a walk instead.
I would be interested to hear what you thought of your friend’s new home kitty we have watched them being built.
8 weeks seems quick for your house completion GrandMattie my DD has recently completed and with no chain it took much longer. It was all a rush at the end to exchange before the solicitor went off for Christmas and then it was another 3 weeks after that to completion.
I hope it goes well at the hospital Mick.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton, set to remain so for the rest of the day.
A busy day ahead for me: coffee with the neighbours this morning, and then out again early afternoon to book club. Praying that the buses behave themselves as my usual lift to book club is unable to make it today. She has sent her review by email, worrying me a bit because her comments bear no resemblance to the book I have read! ('Olive Kitteridge', by Elizabeth Strout). We shall see.....
Watched another episode of The White Lotus last night, one more to go....
Enjoyed three pancakes yesterday evening, enough batter left for three more today!I
Hoping the day goes well for all.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and wet. Much colder than the last few days. Mizuna I hope the breathlessness is sorted quickly. Grandmattie things are moving along for you. Grannygravy breakfast sounds delicious.
Yesterday dgs2 decided he wouldn't go down easily for a nap and I had to rock him to sleep. His nap in the afternoon didn't happen at all so he was a grumpy wee man.
Today is dgs1's birthday. He is four. I'll pop up and see him after nursery. This morning dd and I are visiting my friend. Dd wants to see her although I think she will be shocked at her appearance. This afternoon I'll potter about and clean my living room window. Dgs2 likes to look at the birds and his hands are often grotty. I'm not sure what I'll have for dinner yet. Have a good day all.
Good morning, I’m not sure what the weather will be today, it looks a bit murky at the moment.
The ‘original’ pancake race went well yesterday. DD3 came 10th out of 20 runners. There was just a glimpse of her in the BBC news.
Some tidying to do at home this morning and then craft club this afternoon. My turn to lead the project which is folded fabric eggs.
Hope today is kind to all especially those with illness and worries .
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I still have some WI admin to do then curtains! They arrived yesterday and look mad and magnificent! I have to gather them, insert the hooks and hang them. I’ll take photos for the family WhatsApp group and wait for comments! OH has a blood test this morning. His potassium levels are a little high. Milo and Ripley have their annual check up and inoculations at the Vet today. We are expecting a large bill as usual. There is another bedside lamp waiting to be collected in our nearby town. OH snaffled the first one which I bought for the new room. I will be listening to an online talk on London’s architects after dinner. Dinner: probably pancakes a day late. Have a good day everyone.
