Oh Gingster this must be tough for your daughter and anxiety inducing for you as she has been through such a lot and then tackled a house move. I do hope she feels much better soon and can access help. It must feel lonely to be left like this.

Morning all from S Yorks, over cast and uninviting. I had a great time with friend yesterday over coffee and cake tho not so much fun with Sky on the phone, and today its probably just the gym.

Happy birthday to Mr C

Karmalady you might find a Zoom Pilates Class you can join. (I'm surprised the LA doesn't offer cheap classes at local leisure centres?)

There's lots of great stuff on U tube but a Zoom class will give you a chance to chat with the teacher. As a trained yoga teacher I always suggest to people tho its worth if they can to splash out on just one session to get the basics exactly right then go on from there. (Or onto U tube stuff)

Best days all, poorlies take care and enjoy family and outings.

Good morning from a chilly Colchester where the sunny blue sky is coming over a bit grey.
Clearing up after a fabulous family night in. Marydoll's post yesterday gave me the idea of a "fakeaway", so we did half and half. Pleased to say that the homemade stuff was scoffed and there are only takeaway noodles left over. They'll be eaten with pork chops tonight.
A quiet weekend in the offing with no firm plans. DS came home for a week off in the early hours so I expect he'll have laundry for me and the cars badly need washing so that'll keep the men occupied.

Happy Birthday to MrCorner 🎁🍾🎂

Love to all 🦩x

Marydoll Sat 25-Feb-23 08:32:11

For your daughter, Gingster. 💐

What about phoning 111. I did that when I was very unwell in the summer and couldn't get to speak to a GP.
They were amazing and fast tracked me to A&E, where I was seen immediately. It was such a relief to get help.

Marydoll Sat 25-Feb-23 08:27:59

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it's -2°C with a beautiful sky.

Happy birthday to Mr C! I misread your post, Corner, I thought Mr C's parents were coming to lunch!!! 😂

GM, I feel so sorry for you clearing your home and so many memories, on your own. What a difficult thing to have to do. 💐

Well I survived yesterday's visit to the Range. As you would expect of a Marydoll outing, it was not without incident.
I had difficulty getting out of DIL's mini, until I realised the strap of my bag had somehow wrapped itself around my leg.
No matter how I tried, I couldn't release it, due to my mobility issues.
ĎIL had to come to the passenger side, swivel me round, lift my leg ( I couldn"t), then untangle me. She was hysterical with laughter, trying to release me. I was mortified! It did not bode well.

Things went downhill after that.
The range was packed to the rafters with enticing things, which I neither needed, nor had room for, I was like a child in a sweetie shop and got a bit carried away. DIL bought nothing!

Then it was time to grace M&S food with my presence. It was great to have DIL carrying the basket and she suggested the self service checkout. So far so good.
I somehow managed to crash the till three times, trying to use the coupons and vouchers I had.
The poor assistant, who was helping me, was smiling through gritted teeth.
While I was standing, awaiting the assistant for the third time, I felt my foot wet. Puzzled I looked up to see if it was something to do with the air conditioning, nothing.
There was now a puddle at my feet. Had I had an accident? 😕 I then realised that my longline gilet was soaking wet from waist to ankle! 😱
The very patient assistant came back over to see what was wrong. It was then that she noticed my shoulder bag was also wet and something was dripping onto the floor!
A half full bottle of Coke, left over from my snack in the Range, had leaked in my bag. Looking inside, I saw a pool of Coke at the bottom. Everything was soaking wet!
The lovely assistant went away and brought a blue roll, got down on her knees and proceeded to dry me off. What a lovely lady.
Well done M&S!
Poor DIL was so upset for me, but I found it very amusing. Just like the mishaps of previous, good times, when I was out and about. Things were getting back to normal.

On arriving home, everything, my gilet, Kipling bag and knitted dress went into the machine.
On a more positive note, I found a crumpled, soaking wet, tenner in a corner of my bag. I haven't been anywhere since New Year, so I have no idea, where it came from.

The best part of all was no angina pain, nor serious vertigo episode in among all the stress and activity.
Things may be looking up!
I did fall asleep, watching my latest Turkish rubbish drama after I got home. I was exhausted!

I will go back and now read your posts, which has become part of my daily routine, before I feel well enough to get up.
I may even attempt to do some sewing alterations. I have some bargain dresses, which have voluminous sleeves, which make
me look as broad as I am long!

For all those in sick bay, I hope you feel better soon, especially Aggie, after her fall. 💐

Have a good day folks, whatever your plans.
The sun has just come out! Hurrah!

Urmstongran Sat 25-Feb-23 08:24:23

karmalady you always sound motivated and knowledgeable, like a scientist in your assessment of things.
😊
It’s nice to read how your sewing room with the beautiful view gives you such a feeling of peace and contentment as you busily sit there with your radio on.

Good morning all from the Black country.
It's that time again full English Saturday so haven't read through yet.
We are over to our friends in Redditch this evening, haven't met up for a couple of weeks so will be nice to catch up.
I do believe its Mr Corner 80th today many happy returns and enjoy your family time.
Best wishes to anyone else celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Saturday and may you all find some ☀️.

Grammaretto Sat 25-Feb-23 08:12:12

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is overcast but not raining.
The usual Saturday morning for me, cakes in the oven, I shall pick daffodils for the tables in the community café. I've done this every week, almost, for 18 years. I only pick what I find in the garden to go with the seasons.
There'll be an exhibition about daffodils today as well.
I may go to the Gaelic café this afternoon which is monthly for those of us learning. We have to order and only speak Gaelic. There are 2 or 3 native speakers to help us laugh at our efforts
Tonight a, sold out, concert by a couple of Shetland fiddlers and a pianist.

Well done gMattie you never cease to amaze me with your ability to get things done!

.Happy Birthday Mr Corner. Have a lovely day.

Susan56 Sat 25-Feb-23 08:06:11

Hope your DD is feeling much better soon Gingster and your DGS too Jax

ginny Sat 25-Feb-23 08:03:47

Good morning.
We seem to have a completely empty weekend, which is unusual.
I’d like to go somewhere or do something but can’t decide what.
Happy Birthday Mr Corner and wishing all a good day.

brook2704 Sat 25-Feb-23 08:03:04

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with some clouds around, yesterday we had a very mixed day of sunshine and showers, more today probably
A very Happy 80th Birthday to MrCorner hope all the family celebrations go well!
Enjoy your family time Sar, hope your DGD had a lovely birthday too
I think I’ll pop into town this morning for a quick look around and to pick up a few things as we’re going away at the end of next week.
If you’re on the move today take care travelling and if catching up with friends or family have a lovely time!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster Sat 25-Feb-23 07:53:20

Oh yes Happy birthday Mr C. What a special day you will have 🎁🎈🎊🎂

Jaxjacky Sat 25-Feb-23 07:50:04

Good morning from a grey S Hants, 2 degrees. I ended up sitting our grandson again yesterday, looks like he has hand, foot and mouth plus a strep throat, a pretty miserable boy.
Last night we visited our local and caught up with the village doings.
MrJ is off to work soon, I’ll be ensconced in the paper before a walk, chicken and sweet potato curry for dinner.
Sounds exhausting gMattie, a turbulent time for you.
A very Happy Birthday to Mrcorner 🎉🎈.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Gingster Sat 25-Feb-23 07:49:40

Good morning all and it’s a chilly one.

Dd texted to say she feels very unwell, so I’ll pop over later and see what’s going on. I think she’s overdone it , with the move and sorting the ‘new house’. She can never get through to her cancer nurses, leaves messages and they don’t get back to her. It’s very worrying that there’s no one to help or advise .
She’s on so much medication which is affecting her too. Oh dear!

Good luck with your clearing out GM. It’s not easy , especially when you’re on your own doing it. 💐.

Take care 🌷

karmalady Sat 25-Feb-23 07:49:37

cornergran, what a lovely day is ahead of you. Congratulations to mr Corner and have a wonderful day

karmalady Sat 25-Feb-23 07:48:12

Good morning, cool here in s somerset

I walked to the gathering yesterday and half way home my heel came off. Flat wide shoes that I had never worn but bought over ten years ago. They must have been cheap and deteriorated with time. I ended up with a slightly pained knee after doing an up and down walking action the rest of the way. Knee exercises last night and again each day, too much sitting over winter too. Pain almost gone this morning

I want to find pilates classes, it is hopeless where I live. Only small `posh` classes at £65 a session. I will have to find something on youtube. There are no decent gyms here either. Sitting down old -age exercise is not for me, the only thing available. I shall keep looking

I like wearing a cosy outfit in the house, bought several years ago, very warm but man-made fibre, which makes me spark everytime I touch anything metal. It has to go. I am glad to say that I only make/buy natural fibres now. I can shake the electrons off me but often forget and the spark is loud enough to hear and shock me

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

Happy 80th birthday to your DH Cornergran. 🎂🎉

Today I need to get my uncle his shopping and go and pick up Mum and my sister and head over to Bridlington to visit him. My sister is up from Canterbury staying with mum but tonight she joins us for three nights. She’s due to have an operation in a few days so wanted to see us all beforehand as she’ll be out of action for six weeks or more. Tonight we are taking her over to our friend’s house for a takeaway and drinks. Everyone loves her she is very popular in our family.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone enjoying family, friends and grandchildren. Hoping those suffering illness and stress have some respite today 🌻🌻

Urmstongran Sat 25-Feb-23 07:35:54

Many happy returns of the day to Mr.Corner on his 80th birthday! I hope he thoroughly enjoys his afternoon tea surrounded by his loving family. A day to make memories. x

Sar53 Sat 25-Feb-23 07:34:23

Good morning from Leamington, I'm still tucked up in bed so have no idea what the weather is like but it feels cold.
The journey here went well, at one stage on the journey across London on the tube someone offered to carry my case for me. Very kind of him but made me feel old hmm.
It was lovely to see my 3 DGD's and have hugs.
My DD had made a beautiful birthday cake, as usual. Very chocolaty would just about sum it up.
Not sure what we will be doing today but it will be full on as is usual at weekends here.
Have the best Saturday everyone xx

Grandmabatty Sat 25-Feb-23 07:32:32

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -1°, frosty and cloudy. Cornergran many happy returns to your dh on being 80! I hope he has a nice day. He sounds like a lovely man. BlueBalou I am working on a painting which I'm really not happy with either. Grandmattie moving house is up there with the most stressful things in life. My sympathy.
Yesterday I pottered about the house and the garden and had a lovely time. The weather was cold but sunny and I even got two washings hung out which (almost) dried. It makes such a difference to my spirits when it's a nice day.
Today I'll go to Aldi for food and then change the bedding. I'll have an ironing to do and later on I'm watching dgs2 for an hour. Dgs1 is going to a bowling party and sil is at work, so I'll hold the fort til he comes home. I'm thinking meatballs for dinner. Have a good day all.

kittylester Sat 25-Feb-23 07:29:40

Morning all from my bit of Leicestershire (about 4 miles from dragonfly) where it is 2° and we have a patch of blue sky amongst the clouds.

Another day of checking out kitchens. I suspect we will go with the 1st one but DH likes to check there isn't anything better (and cheaper) anywhere else.

Urmstongran Sat 25-Feb-23 07:28:25

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry but chilly. Alexa tells me today will be cloudy with a high of 6°C later. Brr!

grandMattie you are an inspiration to all of us. I bet you were Head Girl at school. Pace yourself though. A little each day over a period of time adds up to A Lot. Or so I’m told.
#lazygran

Himself bought all the stuff in Sainsbury’s to make a huge pan of chilli later for tomorrow’s dinner when my stepfather joins us and also we will drop a pan of it for our daughter and son in law this afternoon. Oh, the train into Liverpool Lime Street has just pulled into Platform 2. It’s busy down there this morning.

We will be minding the grandchildren again this afternoon as their mum and dad have yet another appointment booked at a kitchen showroom. I will take L’il Miss to the library. She has already asked me if she can bring her pram with 2 dollies. Sure you can chicken. Also there’s a new Starbucks opened downstairs in the square and shed like to sit in there for a drink. “Pretend your my big sister grandma and we meet up for shopping at the mall”. YouTube has a lot to answer for ...

Susan56 Sat 25-Feb-23 07:27:42

Good morning from Shropshire.

We are going over the border to North Wales this morning to babysit H while DD acts as DGD’s chauffeur.M has a play date in Chester this morning then a party back in the village early afternoon.

Mick, a few days in Harrogate sounds just the thing but don’t do too much walking.

We are decluttering too.The house is pretty much sorted but the garage and shed and loft are going to take a while🤦🏼‍♀️

Thinking of all our absent good morningers and those who are unwell or worried about family members💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩
