Yes, George was my favourite too.

I too loved the Beatles but Paul was my favourite - I hated Jane Asher as she was his girlfriend (and actually I'm still not very keen on her!)
Back in the 60's I lived near Teddington tv studios and when I heard that they were going to be on a tv programme coming from there my friend and I waited outside to, hopefully, see them. And we did! Well 3 of them .... and to this day I can't remember which 3!!

I never much liked the Beatles, I was a Rolling Stones fan; but of them all George was best. Funny isn’t that one stands out as special.

Blimey Chestnut. George was such a big part of my life. I don't care if it sounds pathetic. I came out of work for my lunch hour on the day he died and the newspaper placard read 'Beatle George Dead' and I thought 'Is that it? Is that all you've got to say?'

I'm sure I've told this story before. One night in Dec 1999 I suddenly awoke in the night with a sharp searing pain in my chest and feeling terrified, for absolutely no reason. After a while the pain had gone, I calmed down and went back to sleep. The following morning it was on the news that George had been stabbed in the chest by an intruder in his home in Henley-on-Thames.

I always remember the day George died, I walked up the road to work, with Here Comes The Sun in my head, and tears in my eyes.

Oh I was (and am) Fanny. A true and devoted fan or what my daughter would call 'a Beatles bore'. When we meet new people and they ask about what music we like, she says 'Please don't start my mother off on The Beatles'. She is joking - I think!!

Strange indeed Kate. I remember a friend and I went in search of John Lennon's house when he lived on the famed and exclusive St George's Hill Estate in Weybridge., nowadays it wouldn't be permissible to just wander around there, but back then no such restrictions. We spent quite a long time gawking in the gateways looking for the famed "boot" we eventually found, if my memory serves me well, the boot was pretty big. I deluded myself I was always on the cusp of meeting at least one of them, but that was not to be, no one at home, surprisingly though no security back then, we just wandered up to the front door.

The day he married Pattie, I couldn't eat my tea My mother said 'but I've made chips'. I lay on the bed and cried. Aren't teenagers strange?

I wasn’t a fan of the Beatles when they hit the headlines I was a little bit young then in junior school. I appreciated each group member singing individually when I was a bit older.
My friend lived in a house five minutes away from me. In one of the houses that George lived in with his family as a youngster. My friends parents used to go mad because people were always knocking on the door asking to look around. They got that fed up with it they moved it’s still to this day a tourist attraction. I think they could have made a small fortune serving tea there.

Oh and I forgot to add, he got married to Patti Boyd in the registry office in my home town, when my friends and I got wind of it whilst at school, after school had finished, we all hot footed to the registry office, but sadly all done and dusted, not a trace

A very sad day when we lost George, in retrospect I think he was underestimated from living in the shadow of Lennon and McCartney, but he went on to prove he too was a unique talent in his own right.

The Beatles were huge in my life when they burst on to the scene, I was at junior school I remember it well, my main Christmas present one year was their first two albums, as by that time even my parents had got into their music which was a seismic shift in our house, so used to be being blasted by opera and classical music was I

Not on my radar, in the Beatles, but afterwards, I loved the music he made. Plus with The Travelling Wilburys. Some wonderful videos of them on You Tube.

Such feel good music.

I was lucky enough to be one of a hundred invited guests to the dress rehearsal at Bray Studios of his Japan tour in 1991 with Eric Clapton’s band.

An incredible afternoon to say the least with lots of wonderful memories.
He was affectionately known as The Gardener and he most definitely liked ‘herbs’ 🪴

Oh Mizuna I'm very envious. He did chat with me and a group of girls once. Well he chatted and I gawped.

I loved the Beatles' music, still do. 43 years ago, over the Easter weekend, George was looking for a large property in our area. My husband was an estate agent and because it was holiday time George was happy for me and our baby to tag along. He came with us in our car. It was quite surreal. We went to many public places and no-one recognised him. He was such a lovely, friendly man and adored our little girl. In the end he couldn't find a property large enough to provide enough privacy.

All my friends gad a crush on Paul, but for me it was George. I loved the Beatles, the soundtrack to my growing up.
