Morning all
It’s bright and chilly here in my little corner of S E Essex.
Absolutely nothing planned for today other DH cooking breakfast and then I shall cook roast beef for us around 7pm.
I will curl up with my kindle and a jigsaw puzzle on my iPad.
Have a peaceful Sunday folks 🙋♀️🦩

Good Morning Sunday 26th February 2023
(48 Posts)Pleased your family gathering went well Corner.
Georgesgran sympathy for you. I'm in a similar situation. 💐
Good morning all and it’s bright , sunny and chilly here in Essex.
I called over to DD’s yesterday after getting her prescription and shopping for her. She ‘bucked up ‘ while I was there but still hadn’t been able to get through to her cancer nurses. And no replies to her messages 😤. She has a consultants phone appointment this week, so will tell him all her concerns, 🤞🙏.
Thankyou for all your kind messages . 🥰.
Today I’ll take little Dg for her swim lesson and Dd will come for lunch. .
Take care and keep out if the cold if you have breathing problems.
So sorry to hear about your friend Georgesgran.
Should wish The Toon all the best for this afternoon’s match!
SinL drove down to London yesterday, as did most of The Toon Army judging by pictures of Tragalgar Square.
Good morning from a sunny chilly Leicestershire.
Had a lovely time with DS yesterday and he has asked for a roast dinner before he gets the train home today so roast beef it is. He seems happy in his new job so now it is just hoping DD can get a job.
It seems there is always one to worry about.
I love the jumper grandMattie.
Good luck to your DGD Ashcombe and good luck with the plan Whitewave wish I could persuade my DH to eat fewer carbs!
Thinking of Gingster DD and hoping she feels better today.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning from a chilly but bright N. Bucks.
No plans for today but I’d like to get out for a while. So, hopefully a short walk on the flat ( hip problems).
I have a couple of birthday cards to make later.
Your jumper looks very cosy GM.
Wishing all a good day with some smiles and
along the way.
Good morning from Durham - it’s very still and grey. A bit subdued today as my dear friend is now on end of life care - all far sooner than we thought. I couldn’t sleep, for thinking about her - not helped as it’s close to the 2nd anniversary of losing my DH. How fragile is this life?
I’ve promised to go to the Quayside Market with DDs and DGSs this morning, so I need to find my cheerful head and lift my mood.
I’d move tomorrow gM if I could just walk out and leave everything, so the odds are it’s never going to happen.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from a sunny, cold south Cornwall. Gulls are gathering in pairs on rooftops, preparing for the nesting season. A walk to the Pier this morning methinks, to breathe in the sea air, coffee in the pasty shop where the staff are all mega friendly, then more clearing out of my kitchen in readiness for new floor vinyl being laid next week. My landlord is in Australia for two months so he happily left me to choose the colour and design. He's one in a million, as landlords go!
Morning Mick, morning All from a clear, chilly corner of Somerset.
Mr C thoroughly enjoyed his birthday yesterday. Thank you all for your good wishes. Although we were one down he joined us remotely to sing (croak!) happy birthday and see candles being blown out. The food was appreciated, mostly eaten a few remaining savoury snacks went home with our not so Littlest
Considerable tidying up today, I’ll take cake to neighbours, there is far too much for us. That’s about it unless we feel like a walk. An easy meal is ready in the fridge.
That jumper is a fabulous colour grandmattie. Good wishes to your granddaughter today ash. You sound very busy grandmab, I’m sorry about your neighbour, a shock for his family. Nearly there bluebalou. Good luck with the eating plan whitewave.
Mr C is still sleeping so I’ll settle down with my book. Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.
Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is bright but very cold.
We are going to a restaurant in the village for lunch today so a really lazy day ahead for me.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1°, dry and cold but no frost. Mick I hope you get the breathlessness sorted. Grandmattie I love your jumper. Vivid colour. Ash you must be very proud of dgd. I love ballet. Urms I'm very fond of chilli. Save me a bowl!
Yesterday I enjoyed pottering around the house and the garden. I got everything done I wanted and tidied up a bit more in the garden. I'll try to go out for a little each day to keep on top of it. One of my neighbours stopped off to tell me about the sudden death of another neighbour. He went to sleep and didn't wake up. He and his wife are so lovely and gave me toys for dgs1 a couple of years ago. In the afternoon I looked after dgs2 for an hour. He was no bother and went off for a nap like a star.
Today started early. I'm struggling with being able to sleep any later than six which is very annoying. I'm going to make lentil soup with a ham haugh. Then apple sponge and Swedish meatballs. Later this morning, I'm meeting a friend for brunch. This afternoon I would like to work on a couple of paintings which I'm not happy about. Have a good day all.
Good morning from a cold, dry, cloudy Colchester. No plans today except for a roast chicken dinner.
I will work on the never ending laundry mountain.
Love to all 🦩 x
Here’s Matt.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry but looks cold out. That said this apartment is warm pretty much always so we’ve no heating on. I can see the Pennines towards the east (the backbone of Britain - I like that description of them) and there’s a soft pink glow from the sunrise behind them.
A day of relaxation here as, although my stepfather is joining us for lunch, it’s already been made by Himself. All I have to do today is shower , wash my hair and go down in the lift to meet them both for pre-lunch drinks. I will set the table and take the garlic bread out of the fridge before I leave. Such will be my effort today hehe!
Himself will take my stepfather home a little earlier this afternoon as he wants to be back to watch the final of a cup at Wembley between Man. Utd and Newcastle. I have a novel to read ‘The Polished Hoe’ so that’ll be me sorted this evening. A nice relaxing Sunday, all being well. Enjoy yours, whether you have plans or none. x
Good morning everyone, it’s a frosty start here in Wiltshire, I’m hoping for sunshine later 🤞🏻
Yesterday I finished the hoodie and packed it ready for posting tomorrow.
Today D and her DDog are coming for a couple of days, it’ll be bedlam as the dogs play nonstop 🙄
Then DH is going back with her for a week or so, I’m looking forward to peace and quiet until a wonderful carpenter starts making the built in shelving in the extension. Then, at long last, the house renovations will be completed 😊
Next it’s the garden….
DDog and I will enjoy quiet pottering walks while DH is away, I definitely can’t walk for much more than an hour and only on the level so will plan accordingly.
I’m also hoping for sunny weather, then I can enjoy pootling in the garden too!
Enjoy today x
Good Morning everyone from what looks to be a cold Severnside.
A lovely jumper Mattie that will cheer up church this morning.
Beechnutella and I had a successful day in the garden yesterday. We sawed the branches off my useless apple tree and with much rocking and pushing down came the rotten rowen tree that’s been dead for a few years. As well as helping me she was dog minding and brought the dog with her. He was helpful too carrying branches and sticks down the garden for us. It was quite cold out and I changed into my cosy bedclothes when Beechnutella went home.
Have a good Sunday all and enjoy your roasts 🌺
Good morning, cold and clear here in s somerset
Lovely jumper GM. Well done on being single minded about getting rid of stuff, I could not do it. I can usually only manage one item at a time
My knee feels good this morning, the exercises and change of relaxing chair did the trick. I want to add some cycling but it is too cold, the enforced cold air intake is not good at my age and it is enforced because there are hills all around
Seed sorting later, I noticed lots more growth in the garden yesterday and otherwise an evolving day, should be very pleasant
Good morning from the South Downs. Another cold day forecast.
Had a pleasant walk along the river yesterday, after leaving DDs, where the ground is drying very well in the bitterly cold wind. The dog (being Scottish) seems to revel in the cold weather, even though he is coming up to 14.
Day 3 of our no carb - doing ok so far, but it isn’t an easy diet - needs must, and DH has to show he’s being proactive when he sees the diabetic nurse in a week or so time.
Nothing planned for today, apart from the usual walks, and clean the kitchen. Champing to get into the garden but at maximum 7c and a brisk north wind it is too cold. Might sort out vegetable seeds into sowing date order, and order any that are out if date.
Enjoy your Sunday one and all.
Good morning from Leamington. It was very cold yesterday and I believe today may be the same.
I'm going to watch 7 year old DGD in her swimming lesson at lunchtime and we are going out for a belated birthday meal for her 14 year old sister late afternoon.
The 11 year old played in a football tournament yesterday and her team did well, drawing 3 games and winning 1.
It's all go in this house with activities and clubs.
I hope Sunday is a good day, enjoy it whatever you may get up to xx
Good morning from a chilly Crewe with the NE wind not helping.
The cold weather isn’t good for us, especially if we have health issues, Mick. Do take care and wrap up well. A scarf around your mouth might help the breathing issue.
A beautiful colour, grandMattie! I admire your ability to be practical about clearing out needless possessions.
A busy few days of family time, including a gathering in Manchester last night at the university hospitality suite; my step grandson is studying engineering and he has a lovely girlfriend whose family also joined us for a takeaway and cake to celebrate step-GS's birthday. I’ve known him since he was two and he has grown up into a fine young man who shows great kindness to his extra grandma!
Today, DS and DGS3 will join us for dinner so another busy day ahead. I know DD2 will cope with the catering in her usual capable fashion!
Yesterday, we were allowed to watch DGD in her mock Grade 3 ballet exam which was a joy. If she dances as well today for the exam proper, she should be fine.
A blessed Sunday to you all! 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩
Good morning from E Kent. The weather is still chilly, but sunny .
I have finished my jumper, but it is more tomato’s coloured than in the photo.
After chatting to both my AC yesterday, I had another clear out. The problem is what to keep for them. I’ve reached a stage where I can no longer be sentimental, if not useful - out! I have found a huge box full of China and ornaments I haven’t missed in the 11 years we have lived here. I haven’t even unpacked it, out…
I watched a charming film that I had recorded on the BBC. Master Chen, set in Finland. Lovely story, beautiful scenery, not challenging nor silly.
Church first thing this morning , then I might treat myself to a bit of sewing.
Enjoy your Sunday. Carpe diem/horam 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩❤️.
Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark at the moment but dry here in brackley as well , with maybe a bit of wind chill.
I briefly popped out for a Chinese Take Away last night , but became breathless in the cold air .
My plan today is to watch cycling on TV later , have lunch and try and get on with chores in my flat .
Take Care,
Mick
