They’re supposed to be visible over the whole country tonight - and some of the photo’s from last night are stunning.

This is North Essex about 10pm.

Looks like being too cloudy here.

crazyH Mon 27-Feb-23 22:21:14

Gosh. Shall go and look out the bedroom window

Grammaretto Mon 27-Feb-23 22:23:07

There's a mist tonight but last night was amazing.

Cloud cover here in mid Wales, it’s not a pleasant evening as it looks there*Pittcity*, what a fab picture.

I just got back from walking the dog. I took the camera, went to the top of the hill in the woods and - not a sausage. There's too much light pollution around here.

wonderful photo!

Its been overcast for 8 day snow, no stars, no moon...and no lights.

crazyH Mon 27-Feb-23 22:24:58

Nothing here in my part of Wales 😫

Pittcity Mon 27-Feb-23 22:25:17

It's not my photo but a nearby neighbour's. They have a better camera.
It's cold and clear here. Mars is right above the moon and the stars are bright.

Pittcity Mon 27-Feb-23 22:26:59

Remember that you can only see the colours through a camera. It's just wispy clouds with the naked eye.

Hithere Mon 27-Feb-23 22:34:55

Wow that's amazing!

Pittcity Mon 27-Feb-23 22:38:52

These are from my bedroom window.

It was so clear last night, Casdon but I didn't realise they might be seen this far South.

Now, I have a view all round from here except North!!

Oh, thank you Pittcity

With just a cheap camera phone.
I think the blue thing in the moon photo is a reflection (or aliens!!)

Solid cloud here. Really annoying.

We've been getting Aurora here for quite a long time ,but since the lockdowns we've been inundated with people trying to catch them .Last nights were fab ,my daughters shots were shown on This Morning with the location.Tonight the road was gridlocked for 3 miles in each direction.
Theres an app Aurora Watch that gives the likliehood of seeing them and where seems not everyone knows about it as it said there was little to no chance tonight .Cloudy skies .

suburbs

Ziplok Tue 28-Feb-23 15:30:22

Didn’t see anything here last night, too cloudy. I don’t know about the night before as I hadn’t realised that there was going to be a possibility of seeing them, so I didn’t look 😕. Some stunning pictures, though 😁.

MiniMoon Tue 28-Feb-23 15:45:51

We had cloud cover until I went to bed. I really wanted to see a good display.
I've seen the aurora borealis here on a couple occasions occasions, but not as colourful as the photos I've seen over the last couple of days.

I looked out last night and the sky had cleared; the sky in the North looked bright, more white than anything but we'd need to drive a little way to get a clearer view away from trees etc.

It seemed a shame to wake DH when he was snoring happily and make him get dressed again!
