So once you've been a GN member for a whilte, been around the block a few times, you'll have witnessed some feeding frenzies on controversial topics.

Some of those I remember from yester year are:

* Baby milk shortage (being bought up and sold overseas)

* Boris Johnson (at one point praised for his intelligence, yes, really!)

* Jeremy Corbyn (a real Marmite character)

*Anything to do with trans issues.

What are some of the topics that have caused metaphorical fisticuffs that you remember?

That's just showing off Marydoll are you an honorary member of the clique now .smile

Marydoll Thu 02-Mar-23 15:22:12

PS. I do disinfect them after each use.

Marydoll Thu 02-Mar-23 15:21:31

I have TWO loo brushes.
# proud to clean!

Galaxy Thu 02-Mar-23 14:39:06

I am too busy with my new friend sodapop to engage with this horror.

Galaxy - JaneJudge’s verdict 😌

If I were in a clique would I admit it? However, I come down in favour of loo brushes. What is the alternative?

FannyCornforth Thu 02-Mar-23 14:11:24

I use the shower head on very hot every day to clean my toilet ☺️

It never gets very grubby anyway. I’ve never thought ‘oh I wish I had a loo brush to tackle this’.
I just give in an extra flush or two and it’s good to go.
And I put loo cleaner round the bowl twice a week or so.

HousePlantQueen Thu 02-Mar-23 14:00:29

Maybe a badge for loo brush clique? A secret handshake, something like a scrubbing under the rim option? May need work though.......

GagaJo Thu 02-Mar-23 13:01:11

Plantation shutters. Not sure if they were supposed to be posh or common. Not passing a personal opinion. 🤐🤐🤐🤐

bevisp1 Thu 02-Mar-23 12:58:10

Very recent was the furore of Harry & Meghan’s talks, especially Harry’s book called spare

FannyCornforth Thu 02-Mar-23 12:04:30

And yes, Blossoming is correct, in my ignorance of such matters,
I did indeed flush tissues down the loo.
I no longer do so, I can confirm.

FannyCornforth Thu 02-Mar-23 12:02:41

Galaxy
I’ve just pmed Jane to ask her opinion on this all important, contentious, and divisive matter.

I will report back as soon as she declares her preference regarding le brosse de toilette
(I have no idea why I’ve done that)

I haven’t disclosed our views so as not influence her vote

Galaxy Thu 02-Mar-23 11:45:01

Aveline that's a very specific clique.

FannyCornforth

Right.
I’m throwing down the gauntlet.

Loo Brushes? 🚽
Yay or Nay? 👍 👎

Yay! It means you can pump the water down below the normal level, which is where there is usually a ring. Then it is much easier to remove (still with the brush) without using bleach.

Does anyone admit to wearing leggings, having a tattoo and likes sausages? grin

Yes all three; the sausages are vegan ones though!

Kate1949 Thu 02-Mar-23 09:26:17

I find there are a lot of assumptions. For instance -
What was your first car - I've never had one.
Who loads the dishwasher - I've never had one.
A lot more that I can't bring to mind.

Aveline Thu 02-Mar-23 09:02:30

I think I'm in a clique of my own. I do have a toilet brush but I don't use it. confused

sodapop Thu 02-Mar-23 08:52:43

Can we have a toilet brush emoji for the clique ?

Sago Thu 02-Mar-23 08:44:04

I always hated loo brushes, couldn’t look at one😬.
They are however sadly a necessity.
I found these by Joseph Joseph.
I can’t get get too excited about a toilet brush but they are far more hygienic than a traditional brush.

Iam64 Thu 02-Mar-23 08:19:26

I’ve never been in a clique. Or maybe I have on one if the adopting pets from abroad discussions I agreed with several others this is a Bad Thing.
As for nickers, can we storm M and S to get nickers that wash and last back in their shelves

That's as may be but have you got a loo brush.

A young couple were given a loo brush as a wedding present and when asked by its donor how they liked it, replied
“Aye, it’s fine, but we still prefer toilet paper”
(I’ll get my coat)

Blossoming Wed 01-Mar-23 22:14:21

I’m a mine of obscure facts from my student days. Can never remember where my keys are though!

Never mind loo brushes, FannyCornforth once admitted to flushing paper handkerchiefs down the lavatory!

Should we not do that?

Toilet paper is designed to disintegrate when wet so they don’t clump, nose blowing tissues are designed to be strong so they don’t disintegrate when you blow your nose. They will block the drain. Wet wipes are the absolute worst .

Point taken, I didnt know .

I'd never put a wet wipe, if I ever used one, down the loo.

Breastfeeding.

Now that can start a feeding frenzy!
Not just with babies 🤱👶

Mollygo Wed 01-Mar-23 21:47:56

Those of us in the cliques have self cleaning toilets

You use chemicals then? Even my rim flush toilet needs a clean and if you have males in the house !!!
