Good Morning Everyone,
Dark as usual but dry and cold out there in brackley.
Today , I aim to do a local shop for essentials, and lunchtime go to local chippy .
Yesterday , I did Bicester on the bus ,and went to my usual cafe , only to have someone I used to work with over 20+ years ago at the MoD place , she recognised me but I could not place her , maybe meet again ?
Take Care,
Mick

Here’s Matt.

Kettle’s on. Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and clear. I can see the Pennines and a train has just arrived at the train station across the road, off to Manchester Oxford Road from Platform 1. A 255 bus has just pulled up at the stop below at the same time - off to Piccadilly Gardens in the city centre.

I got tickets in December for the evening performance tonight of Swan Lake by Birmingham Royal Ballet at The Lowry in Salford. I’m taking my teacher daughter and we are both very much looking forward to it. Himself will drop us off and we will get a taxi back. We plan to get to the Salford Quays early so that we can sit and enjoy a large glass of wine first in one of the many bustling bars. I shall take tissues as I always fill up with emotion.

Now to make that cuppa and settle back to read all your posts. Hope Friday is good to us all.

Kalu thank you. I loved art at school and was picked for the Kelvin grove schools art competition so my lovely art teacher, Mr Henderson, must have seen something. I then didn't draw or paint until four years ago so I'm rediscovering the love of creating.

Good morning from a grey and chilly Black Country.

Another lovely walk over Baggeridge yesterday, with coffee and chat afterwards. Then over to Mums as I had left my phone charger there the day before.

Gym this morning, then over to Birmingham on the train as we are at the theatre this evening to see The King and I. Staying over in a hotel afterwards.

Love your pictures Grandmabatty as others have said, you are very talented.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning all, it’s cool and cloudy here in South Lanarkshire.

Beautiful photos Ash and I love your paintings Grandmabatty.

Safe journey brook, enjoy the birthday celebrations.

Photo of DS’s coffee at the Palace Cafe yesterday.

DH and I are going into town today to shop for a gift for eldest GC’s forthcoming birthday. We will have a bite to eat somewhere along the way.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gingster Fri 03-Mar-23 08:04:39

Good morning all and it’s grey here in Essex.

Dd actually saw her consultant yesterday and is reassured somewhat. Steroids will slowly be reduced , so hopefully the bloating will go down, and her breathing easing🤞. She had blood tests and a cat scan and will get results in a couple of weeks. Two more immunotherapy infusions and we’ll see where we are 🙏.

Today little pooch has the groomers - she shakes when she goes in 🐶, and then meeting up with our Friday pals for a sandwich and a couple of g and t’s, at lunchtime.

Marydoll and Abitbarmy - worrying seems to get worse as we get older, doesn’t it? I always wake up with a feeling of doom and gloom! 😰Have to get up and start my day to shake it off! . Keep occupied and busy is the order of the day! 😉

Take care all you lovely people. ❤️

Good morning everyone from a grey and chilly-looking Northampton, 4°outside at the moment.

A nice day out yesterday; a helpful visit to see my 'personal manager' at the bank, who suggested various ways in which my funds could work better for me - one of which I took her up on. The meeting had one and a half hours set aside for it, but we had sorted everything in 45 minutes.

Then I had time to pop along and have a coffee at a little cafe in a members club a few doors along - I hadn't been since before Covid, and was pleased to find it up and running again and very busy. Friends and I used to visit for lunch occasionally..

Feeling in need of lunch I decided to go to a tiny refurbished bar where I enjoyed cheese on toast and a glass of wine. Then on to the bus and arrived at my ballet class in plenty of time. Our teacher worked us hard for nearly an hour! We learned two new steps yesterday - pas de chat, and Grande battement piquet.

Then home for a Sainsbury's delivery, and then DD popped in after her riding lesson to bring me the camera she is lending me for my holiday. Some places do not allow use of mobile phones in game parks because they might alert poachers. So ordinary cameras only allowed, very sensible.

Browsed the M&S sale site on the laptop, and somehow a new top and leggings popped into my basket...... Seemed too good at half-price to turn down.

Out for my usual Friday coffee, bun and shop later this morning, and pick up my holiday money in Sainsbury's.
Chicken curry for dinner tonight.
Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Gingster Fri 03-Mar-23 08:08:47

Enjoy the ballet Urms. 🩰
Enjoy The King and I NannyJan

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Grey and very chilly but dry in South Yorkshire. I went out on the bus yesterday. The bus driver was coughing, then a man sat behind me and he was coughing. I don’t like using my car if I can use the bus but it’s very tempting! I called into the library and then broke the habit of a lifetime when curiosity led me to buy a ready meal from M&S. I only went in for a couple of their ready made sauces. It looked nice but had very little flavour so let that be a lesson to me. I have a freezer full of flavourful things I’ve batch cooked, so will stick to those in the future. I bought a new lamp for my oven and then found I couldn’t get the old one out, so I’ve put it away until my son in law comes round. It always has been difficult for some reason but DH had a knack. A quiet day today. I am going to resurrect the rug I started making a while ago and then abandoned.
Have the best day you can folks!

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It is the WI Coffee morning, but we are going outside the village to a Pottery about 15 minutes drive away. They do the most delicious cakes. Then this afternoon I must prepare for elder son and granddaughter who are coming to stay for the weekend this evening. Granddaughter has requested Nanna’s special sausage meatballs. There is also a selection of her favourite ice cream. She especially likes the lemon one. Have a good day everyone whether you’re celebrating or worrying.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 03-Mar-23 08:19:41

Morning all

Yes Gingster it is grey outside, pleased your DD finally got some answers, hope she is feeling more like her olds self soon. Steroids whilst being helpful have horrid side effects. Lovely paintings, lilies are my favourite flowers.

I appear to have a sinus infection, I will try over the weekend with painkillers, Sudafed spray and Olbas Oil. I had far too many antibiotics last year and really do not want another course.

Pick up The Imp from preschool at lunchtime then it will probably be an afternoon playing shops and reading The Gruffalo.

We might cancel our plans for this evening and get a Chinese Takeaway instead.

(((Hugs))) to all those in need

Have a Good Friday folks 🦩🙋‍♀️

Grammaretto Fri 03-Mar-23 08:35:11

What a worry Gingster. I am glad your DD has some answers if not magic cures.

Liberty Fri 03-Mar-23 08:43:50

Good morning from a grey Suffolk. I slept til just after 8am so need to get myself in gear. DH just making a second cuppa and then, after breakfast, I have a hair appt when I shall catch up with local news. Like many hairdressers my is a fount of who is doing what etc!

My appt is in our local market town so DH will meet me in the old coaching inn for lunch. They always have a huge log fire so it is very warm and cosy especially on a day such as today. People tend to linger in the friendly warmth so I will probably pop in and reserve a table before my appt.

Hope there is warmth of any kind for all today.

Marydoll Fri 03-Mar-23 08:47:49

GG have you tried steam inhalations, with menthol crystals? Lethal, but that is what we all use for sinus infections.

Jaxjacky Fri 03-Mar-23 08:48:16

Morning from sun in S Hants, due to cloud over though. Phone call an hour ago from my daughter, Fin is top to toe covered in a rash, not ill but can’t go to school, so I’ll be off there soon.
Safe journey brook and others travelling. Enjoy the cruise Shazza and you the ballet Urms.
Enjoy your day if you can 🦩🦩

GrannySomerset Fri 03-Mar-23 08:54:29

Yesterday’s trip to see Matthew Bourne’s brilliant restaging of Sleeping Beauty was an utter delight and has stayed with me; a real lift to the spirits. Highly recommended, and not a tutu in sight.

This morning am awaiting delivery of the last piece of furniture for the revamped children’s corner in church. We now await a date for the new carpet so that we can book a skip to deal with the rubbish, plan a good clean and then have a really nice space for young families in time for the summer weddings.

Nothing else planned but after a busy week I am happy to catch up with my reading and decompress. I can’t cope with a three session day any more which is frustrating but my energy levels are not what they were.

monk08 Fri 03-Mar-23 08:58:25

Good morning all from a dull Black country.
Another day of no cooking DS has invited us for dinner it will be good to see the boys they were away last week.
Urms enjoy your ballet.
NannyJan enjoy the King and I, I saw it the last time it was in Birmingham went with my DiL she went again last night with her mum she loves her musicals.
Lovely pictures on here today.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

hollysteers Fri 03-Mar-23 08:58:41

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening but cold northwest coast,
Wonderful symphony concert last night, I always leave the concert hall elated whatever mood I’m in to start with.
Off to art soon, but not feeling very arty…
DS plating with new band in Madrid and a record deal and DD enjoying her new Inflight Manager role for long haul BA.
Wish it would warm up, cutting down on the ch is getting me down.
What a lovely place you live in Ashcombe and thoughts to Gingster, hope everything improves for your DD.

Stilllearning Fri 03-Mar-23 09:00:18

Morning from our hotel in Edinburgh which has a nice view of the Forth. I am with DD4, enjoying my Christmas gift from her. We went to watch Giselle last night after a lovely meal, and stayed over. In this very pleasant hotel. We’re about to head down for breakfast and then a wander about before heading back home after lunch.

The ballet was so enjoyable, Giselle was new to me and I loved it. It’s been so good also to have this time together out of her busy life.

Enjoy your new adventure Brook, I look forward to reading about it, and about your weekend away Grammaretto.

I’ll be thinking about all those waiting for results and hopefully, improvements in health. Good wishes to all🦩

EkwaNimitee Fri 03-Mar-23 09:01:19

Good morning Mick and all from grey damp Carlisle.
Today, a little housework then getting my head round some boring but important admin re the house and, finally, start on some packing for my hols. I have dumped a pile of suitable clothing on the spare bed and now have to make choices. If I took the lot-which would be totally unnecessary-I would need 2 large suitcases....so I anticipate hard choices. This is the bit about going on holiday I detest. That, and worrying about the train being cancelled. It's Transpennine Express so the possibility of that is high.

Lovely photos today, and aren't some of you talented! My creativity only extends to the garden.
Best wishes to your DD, Gingster, I hope she soon finds herself on the up.

Have the best possible day everybody, some of you do have enjoyable sounding outings.

Wyllow3 Fri 03-Mar-23 09:03:50

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Off to the supermarket this morning and then a little light child care this afternoon and a chance to catch up with DD2.
Love the photos and the paintings, my effort at art group yesterday was rather gaudy.

A very late good morning from the Angus coast where the sun is shining from a blue cloudless sky unless you look out to sea, where it isn't. The towel wash is already out on the line, basking in the sunshine.
The attached photo from 11 years ago came up in my photo memories yesterday and is one of those when you gasp "Oh yes! I remember ....". Dancing DG was being chased by a 'great big wave'. To escape she turned and ran, knocked her little sister flat on her back, landed in top of her and the wave got them both!! Happy days 😄
Yesterday our group started the first of three new Tai chi beginners' classes this month and there was almost a pre-covid turnout. So good to see. I'm not taking the class but will be taking the class on Tuesdays which has just completed the course and is moving up to continuing.
I had a lovely evening in Dundee last night with DD and the girls (the rather larger version of the tots in the photo). To be honest, I didn't much enjoy the venue which had been chosen by Dancing GD but obviously the company was good. I also managed the driving in the dark aspect of the evening - although it's not something I would choose to do.
Now off I must go to attack various little tasklets which must be done - including the ever-present ironing pile. I can then sit back with a clear conscience to read your posts. Have a lovely day x

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 03-Mar-23 10:20:53

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
I have yet read the posts or I’d be even later!
On Wednesday we were at the national coal mining Museum in Wakefield. Very interesting going down the shaft and walking for miles underground. An interesting guide to keep us informed. Coming back up the shaft is where the light at the end of the tunnel comes from!
A friend wanted some printing done so on Tuesday I had been talked into how to fix it. My friend arrived after 7pm and printer wouldn’t work. I was speaking to Canon yesterday morning but failed. Eventually DH managed to print what she wanted. This morning I’ve been on to Curry’s Know how and it’s back working again (don’t know how long for)
Yesterday afternoon I had a text reminding me I had a doctors appointment today. An hour later I had another text saying it was cancelled!!?
Think we will probably be going out in the car today
Have the best day possible folks
