Good Morning Everyone,
Dark as usual but dry and cold out there in brackley.
Today , I aim to do a local shop for essentials, and lunchtime go to local chippy .
Yesterday , I did Bicester on the bus ,and went to my usual cafe , only to have someone I used to work with over 20+ years ago at the MoD place , she recognised me but I could not place her , maybe meet again ?
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Grey and very chilly but dry in South Yorkshire. I went out on the bus yesterday. The bus driver was coughing, then a man sat behind me and he was coughing. I don’t like using my car if I can use the bus but it’s very tempting! I called into the library and then broke the habit of a lifetime when curiosity led me to buy a ready meal from M&S. I only went in for a couple of their ready made sauces. It looked nice but had very little flavour so let that be a lesson to me. I have a freezer full of flavourful things I’ve batch cooked, so will stick to those in the future. I bought a new lamp for my oven and then found I couldn’t get the old one out, so I’ve put it away until my son in law comes round. It always has been difficult for some reason but DH had a knack. A quiet day today. I am going to resurrect the rug I started making a while ago and then abandoned.
Have the best day you can folks!

Good morning everyone from a grey and chilly-looking Northampton, 4°outside at the moment.

A nice day out yesterday; a helpful visit to see my 'personal manager' at the bank, who suggested various ways in which my funds could work better for me - one of which I took her up on. The meeting had one and a half hours set aside for it, but we had sorted everything in 45 minutes.

Then I had time to pop along and have a coffee at a little cafe in a members club a few doors along - I hadn't been since before Covid, and was pleased to find it up and running again and very busy. Friends and I used to visit for lunch occasionally..

Feeling in need of lunch I decided to go to a tiny refurbished bar where I enjoyed cheese on toast and a glass of wine. Then on to the bus and arrived at my ballet class in plenty of time. Our teacher worked us hard for nearly an hour! We learned two new steps yesterday - pas de chat, and Grande battement piquet.

Then home for a Sainsbury's delivery, and then DD popped in after her riding lesson to bring me the camera she is lending me for my holiday. Some places do not allow use of mobile phones in game parks because they might alert poachers. So ordinary cameras only allowed, very sensible.

Browsed the M&S sale site on the laptop, and somehow a new top and leggings popped into my basket...... Seemed too good at half-price to turn down.

Out for my usual Friday coffee, bun and shop later this morning, and pick up my holiday money in Sainsbury's.
Chicken curry for dinner tonight.
Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Good morning all and it’s grey here in Essex.

Dd actually saw her consultant yesterday and is reassured somewhat. Steroids will slowly be reduced , so hopefully the bloating will go down, and her breathing easing🤞. She had blood tests and a cat scan and will get results in a couple of weeks. Two more immunotherapy infusions and we’ll see where we are 🙏.

Today little pooch has the groomers - she shakes when she goes in 🐶, and then meeting up with our Friday pals for a sandwich and a couple of g and t’s, at lunchtime.

Marydoll and Abitbarmy - worrying seems to get worse as we get older, doesn’t it? I always wake up with a feeling of doom and gloom! 😰Have to get up and start my day to shake it off! . Keep occupied and busy is the order of the day! 😉

Take care all you lovely people. ❤️

Good morning all, it’s cool and cloudy here in South Lanarkshire.

Beautiful photos Ash and I love your paintings Grandmabatty.

Safe journey brook, enjoy the birthday celebrations.

Photo of DS’s coffee at the Palace Cafe yesterday.

DH and I are going into town today to shop for a gift for eldest GC’s forthcoming birthday. We will have a bite to eat somewhere along the way.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a grey and chilly Black Country.

Another lovely walk over Baggeridge yesterday, with coffee and chat afterwards. Then over to Mums as I had left my phone charger there the day before.

Gym this morning, then over to Birmingham on the train as we are at the theatre this evening to see The King and I. Staying over in a hotel afterwards.

Love your pictures Grandmabatty as others have said, you are very talented.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Mar-23 07:57:23

Kalu thank you. I loved art at school and was picked for the Kelvin grove schools art competition so my lovely art teacher, Mr Henderson, must have seen something. I then didn't draw or paint until four years ago so I'm rediscovering the love of creating.

Urmstongran Fri 03-Mar-23 07:56:36

Here’s Matt.

Kettle’s on. Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and clear. I can see the Pennines and a train has just arrived at the train station across the road, off to Manchester Oxford Road from Platform 1. A 255 bus has just pulled up at the stop below at the same time - off to Piccadilly Gardens in the city centre.

I got tickets in December for the evening performance tonight of Swan Lake by Birmingham Royal Ballet at The Lowry in Salford. I’m taking my teacher daughter and we are both very much looking forward to it. Himself will drop us off and we will get a taxi back. We plan to get to the Salford Quays early so that we can sit and enjoy a large glass of wine first in one of the many bustling bars. I shall take tissues as I always fill up with emotion.

Now to make that cuppa and settle back to read all your posts. Hope Friday is good to us all.

Good morning from a cold, grey Colchester.
DH is attempting to put new doors on his shed. He painted them and got the hinges on yesterday. Today is the locks and hanging.
I'll keep out of the way and get the ironing done.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good’s morning everyone.
Looking dull outside but no matter, I am going to a museum with DD2 and then on to an art shop , so, inside most of the day.
I can now see that it is raining . Just as DH is leaving for golf. He won’t be happy !
Wishing you all a good day with some smiles along the way.

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy, cold corner of Somerset.

As the hospital number registered on Wednesday was that of the switchboard Miss Marple began with the consultants secretary who was able to tell me it had been a call from the appointments team to check I will be attending. No idea why they’d not called back. Phew. Flooring date rearranged we set off for the beach. The sun was surprisingly warm enabling us to sit with a cuppa at an outside table enjoying a view across the water.

Chores done a long phone chat with a friend was my reward. Admin to sort today before a meal with our teenagers and their Dad who had been too unwell to join us last weekend. A belated birthday celebration for him and Mr C. Goodness, we’ve had a week of food.

Hope everyone planning time with friends and family has an enjoyable time. A hug for anyone finding life hard and a wish Friday is kind to us all.

Kalu Fri 03-Mar-23 07:43:58

I am so envious of your talent Grandmabatty. Your paintings are so good.
Envious of you too doing some watercolour Wwm. A talent I certainly don’t have.
Whenever I had to present my artistic offerings to the art mistress she always remarked that I had a vivid imagination. 😂
Enjoy your weekend away Grammaretto

harrigran Fri 03-Mar-23 07:42:32

Good morning from the NE where it is drizzling again and 4 degrees.
Up early to put the wheelie bin out, I didn't want to chance it last night in case it blew over again.
Checked my premium bonds and have had a nice little win this month, better than the bank interest I have been getting.
Another lazy day for me with minimal housework.
Have a good day all.

Abitbarmy Fri 03-Mar-23 07:36:56

Good morning everyone from a damp dull North Yorkshire. Slept till 4ish again, awake an hour then another couple of hours sleep. Seems to be a regular thing these days. I wake feeling very unsettled and nervous. There are things on my mind, my sister’s health being one. The new kitchen flooring , another which is a pretty stupid thing to worry about really in the big scheme of things. Anyway a nice lunch with a very old friend today, hopefully a bit more work on the allotment first. Then DD is coming to stay this evening and spend time with me and the twins for a few hours in the morning. Have a good day if you can all.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 03-Mar-23 07:36:49

brook enjoy your family time and a Happy Birthday to your little GS. 🎂

Grandmabatty your pictures are fab I really love the Lily.

Mizuna Fri 03-Mar-23 07:33:58

Good morning from an overcast south Cornwall. It wasn't overcast at 4am, when the moon woke me through the gap in my curtains. Been knitting and drinking tea since then. My geeky (a self-imposed moniker and he gets it from me) son came last evening and we had a lovely catch up, talking about fungi, maps and Krakatoa. I learnt a new guitar chord yesterday, fiddling around while my vinyl was being laid, as I couldn't move freely around my flat. C#m, for anyone interested! Am wondering how I've played guitar since I was eight, that's 61 years, and never needed C#m before. grin Today a wander to the sea front for some ozone.

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Mar-23 07:30:23

Marydoll thank you. 😊

kittylester Fri 03-Mar-23 07:26:16

Good morning all from a very hilly and cloudy North Leicestershire. The temperature is 2°.

This morning I plan to nip to the butcher's in the next village and ring my best friend before, this afternoon, taking part in a zoom Carer's course. Burgerologist tonight.

Sending best wishes for the best day possible

Kalu Fri 03-Mar-23 07:25:37

Good morning all from a dry and chilly 3deg. in Glasgow. Sunshine is forecast for this afternoon. ☀️

A telephone consultation with DH’s respiratory dept. Dr. later this morning. DH is still waiting for a CT scan appointment the results of which we were hoping to discuss with this Dr. This morning will have to be a general catch up.
We are planning a visit to the Burrell this afternoon if DH feels up to it. We haven’t been since the refurbishment and are eager to visit again.
GD1 failed her driving theory test yesterday. Time to brush up on her Highway Code which lost her points. Poor girl has been so busy with A level exams, studying and preparing presentations for university applications.

Belated Happy Birthday Susan and many happy returns of the day which sounded perfect. 🎉

Best wishes to all for good start to the weekend, especially those with worries on their mind.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 03-Mar-23 07:21:08

Good morning from the South Downs which at the moment is gloriously sunny, but chilly.

Hairdressers cancelled yesterday as she has a heavy cold so rebooked for next Friday,

Doing some watercolour later - arum leaves from the garden - lovely markings on them.

Dog sat staring at me so must go.

Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Fri 03-Mar-23 07:20:31

You are very talented, GB. Lovely paintings.

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Mar-23 07:17:14

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and grey and damp outside. Snow is forecast for the weekend. Lovely photos Ash.
Yesterday was the last of the block of art classes. There are a couple of specific workshops coming up that I have signed up for. I've attached my latest works which I'm fairly pleased with. The oranges and an apple in the bowl is now finished. The lily I'm happy with too. I visited DD with her birthday present and she'd had a lovely, peaceful day. The boys had been with their other granny.
Today I'm going nowhere. I'll get the housework done and potter about. It's too miserable to get into the garden I think. Chicken curry for dinner. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Fri 03-Mar-23 07:14:08

Good morning all, from a still dark Glasgow, where its 5°C, like Balou, another poor night.
It didn't help, when the golfer got up at 5.30 am!

How lovely to be recognised by your former colleague, Mick.

Stunning photos Ash. My spring bulbs are hardly poking above the surface. It's great to see you keeping so well.

Yesterday, desparate for some fresh air, I managed half an hour pottering outside.
Our decking was covered in moss from the roof, so I thought I would sweep it up and hose it down.
I had forgotten DH had switched off the outside tap for the winter. What a fuss he made, when I asked him to switch it back on, because it meant emptying under the sink! Bending down triggers off the vertigo, so I couldn't do it myself.
Unfortunately the hose attachment was faulty and in seconds, I was soaked from head toe!
At that point SIL unexpectedly appeared, offering advice! Grrrrr. 🤬 I know we need a new attachment, no need to point it out!

After dinner DS2 and DIL appeared, also unexpectedly. With only six weeks to go, DIL has suddenly become very obviously pregnant. She was hardly showing until recently. Thankfully, she is keeping well, but I'm worried about DS, who always a worrier, has become very anxious and quiet about the baby.
It was lovely to have a catch up on all their news.

I'm going to try another short spell in the garden today, if it's not too cold. The cold makes me breathless. Unfortunately, my hacking cough has returned, due to my meds.
Its such a nuisance, as my voice is hoarse again and DH, who is in denial about his deafness is using it as an excuse, to cover up for not listening!

Wishing you all a pleasant day and Shazza, enjoy your river outing.
Gingster, I hope your daughter is feeling a wee bit better.

brook2704 Fri 03-Mar-23 07:12:49

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks like a clear day
Beautiful photos Ash, stunning views how lovely to have that on your doorstep
Your day sounds amazing Shazza, something I’d like to do one day, have a lovely time!
We’re on the lunchtime flight down to Luton and then onto Cambridge. It’s our youngest DGSs 6th birthday today and we’re so much looking forward to seeing them all, we’re having little family get together tonight
Enjoy your weekend away grammaretto
Sounds like you’re getting very well organised gMattie, well done it can’t be easy at all
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

karmalady Fri 03-Mar-23 07:03:46

Good morning, s somerset is to have dull skies and no sun all day today

Yesterday was glorious and a I finished the rock and stone clearing, the soil is still stony but will produce nice carrots and even long parsnips in the future. I did start to ache last night, so I took a little cbd an hour before bed and some paracetamol at bedtime. Needless to say I slept like a log, with all aches gone, They would have woken me

An easy day today, pottering around the sink unit in my hall, to be installed soon. A much better unit than the builder-installed bargain-basement one installed by the builder.

I am using the old hydraulic kettler stepper daily, which takes up no room in my kitchen. I can feel the effort on my thighs and it keeps my aerobic capacity, ready for counting cats eyes as I slowly cycle up hills all around here. Too cold for that yet and all too easy to lose capability.

It is really heart warming to read about the snippet of daily life from all of you. flowers
