Thanks everyone for congrats. He is struggling a bit so has to stay in hospital but hopefully will improve soon. My granddaughter has to be discharged so she will be visiting him all the time. He looks so beautiful with a lovely face and very blonde- but I am totally biased of course. Happy Birthday Bluebelle- I love your name ,by the way and every year I look forward to those bluebells I have planted in my front garden.

A lovely idea for a thread

Congratulations nann8. How wonderful. And it's a lovely idea for a page on here.
I'm looking forward to one of my grandchildren making me a great grandmother before too long. I am a step ggm, which is almost as nice.

A bit different, but random news all the same...

Just before Christmas we helped a young couple who were having a bit of a crisis outside our house in the middle of the night. Nothing dangerous, but the young lady was in a bit of a state. We made them hot drinks, lent her my jacket to keep warm and stayed with them until they could organise a lift home. Thought nothing more of it, although I did wonder how they were doing but I didn't expect to hear from them.

Yesterday evening, there was a knock at the door and there they were, with a Thank You card, chocolates and a bottle of wine plus my jacket newly dry-cleaned! It was so lovely to see them looking happy and healthy and brought tears to my eyes. What a lovely thing for them to do!

I also have a new GD, born last month, who has brought joy to the whole family.

DD2 has had a 2nd scan and told us that she is expecting our first granddaughter in July. After 3 grandsons this is welcome news. She is so ill during pregnancy that all we wished for was a healthy outcome.
Nappy times indeed for many of us on GN!
