Hey Urm 🌷I'm in your corner too. Don't contribute often but dip in all the time. Cheers 👍
A famous matador gored by bull!
What were your dream names for your kids when you were growing up?
Good Morning Everyone,
Dark , up a little early as I have to go to Bicester early for a Iron Infusion.
Its looking wet out as well , but could be icy/frost if forecast is right.
Return later to watch cycling on TV.
Take Care,
Mick
Hey Urm 🌷I'm in your corner too. Don't contribute often but dip in all the time. Cheers 👍
This is a late good afternoon to everyone. Hope you are well revived with your iron Mick and that the rail journey turned out well. GrandMattie. I love long distance train travel, once you are settled in it is lovely, but these days cancellations and changes of platform cost me a lot of effort and worry , not to mention the costs rising, so tend to stick to driving, where I am in charge of when and where I stop etc!! Anyway was up very early but also went out early, intending to be back quickly. It was cold but dry when I set off on the yellow peril, but was about halfway through my things, put prescription in etc etc and fortunately was near the supermarket when the heavens opened with a vengeance. So did the shopping and hovered around waiting for the rain to stop. Had my heavy mac on but no leggings on. Got back and was lucky to meet a neighbour , who was kind enough to bring my new microwave in for me and stick the old one back in the boot ready for a trip to the tip with it. So spent some time setting the new one up and removing all the packing etc. So hurray back in business with that. So by the time I had had some lunch and put shopping away half the day gone . Looks as though it is just about to pour again so will now catch up with the jobs I left. It actually was hailing a little and they promise snow over the next couple of days so will be back to porridge for breakfast and warm jumpers and shirts brought back out. So hope you have had a good day everyone
Good morning from a brightening northwest coast.
So nice to see my late DHs friends at his church yesterday to say goodbye to his retired vicar friend relocating. A presentation and afterwards cake and coffee in the church hall.
How I miss my DH! A good Christian indeed and so kind.
I have booked tickets online for a local theatre show, but they haven’t come through, must chase them up.
My pianist friend is having trouble after a macular procedure and contact lens trouble, so has been down, but this morning tried a combination which has worked. He has recitals and is playing for me in the summer. He is coming over from Chester at the weekend.
Good win for Liverpool and all the best for your infusion Mick and happy travels grandM
Morning from S Yorks, where its overcast to my disappointment, although tomorrow and Wednesday we are supposed to have much needed sun.
Late on parade due to very bad night, so its a quiet day today.
Maybe tackle the filing heap.
all the veery best for appointments, results, and poorlies.
Good morning from a windy NE.
I am still in bed with a cup of tea as I had a disturbed night.
Safe journey to those travelling today and fingers crossed for medical appointments.
SIL and I watched a couple of Robson Green's programmes about the NE, really enjoyed them. Places that we have visited with family so lots of memories.
Nothing planned for today.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is chilly.
I am tired after a fab weekend with the Scottish Potters. The first time we've been all together for 4 years. All the talking when you aren't used to it
And this morning I had my new teeth fitted finally after a 4 month wait.
Next it's me eyes cataracts and then me hip arthritis. What an old crock!
I hope you get good news Urms
Have a lovely holiday Brook . Lots of pics please.
I hope you have a better day Marydoll
Enjoy your train trip to Scotland
gMattie .
Have as best a day as you can everyone.
Good morning everyone. It’s raining here in Lancashire, currently 6°C and no sign of the threatened frost. I hope your iron infusion goes well Mick.
Have a good day all 🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from coastal West Sussex where it is cloudy and there has been light rain.
This week will mainly consist of cleaning and tidying before heading north on Friday; final destination, our flat in East Lothian near to DD and family; journey broken with two nights at a campsite near Sheffield for a meet-up with fellow campervan owners known by DH on an online forum. Looking at the forecast temperature, we must be mad 🥶
Hope your journey to Bo’ness goes well Grandmattie. My son-in-law used to volunteer on the heritage railway there.
Marydoll hope you have a better day today.
Ug hope for positive outcome for your DH’s appointment.
I am trying to cut down on social media use during Lent, though Lent is not particularly marked in my religious tradition. I will keep an eye on Mick’s thread when I can, for news of those with health issues and upcoming procedures.
Off to make some gooseberry jam in an attempt to free up freezer space for this summer’s fruit & veg. I’m not enthusiastic about gooseberries but the bushes were planted by previous plotholder and fruited extra well last year.
Sun struggling through here so that will help me to get going.
A very late Good Morning all from a very cold North Leicestershire.
Dh is off to the gym and I have a real life Carer's course this afternoon. Not sure if I am up to it as I had a very upset stomach yesterday which gave me the heebie jeebies and I might need to recover my equilibrium today.
Good morning Mick and everyone from showery Carlisle.
Yesterday, feeling my kidney infection was improved, (thanks Jaxjacky ) I completed my packing and was ready to roll. Unfortunately I woke in the night hot and shivery and worse than ever. Although I feel a bit better this morning,I'm not in a fit state to be hauling suitcases about and don't want to risk getting even worse whilst away. I'm going to cancel this week and try to transfer to a different date. Whilst I'm fed up with not going, I'm also relieved.
Mention of Bo'ness brings back not so happy memories, I had to spend my sixth form years at school there. It was a come down after my highly rated Essex grammar and I couldn't study the subjects singly that I was passionate about. Plus a long daily bus journey from the outskirts of Edinburgh was required. I'm sorry to admit that my girlfriend and I took to regular bunking off to haunt the seedier coffee bars of Edinburgh!
However, I do wish you an enjoyable trip grandMattie, the town is certainly beautifully situated above the Forth and you will get splendid views of the bridges at Queensferry on your way.
And happy travels and a pleasant day to all.
Good morning, Michael from a very chilly South Yorkshire. It rained overnight. Hope the infusion goes ok Mick. My visit to the physio yesterday was very reassuring but they pulled me about a bit so I ache this morning, and have more exercises to add to the list. No pain, no gain. DD brought over a lovely casserole and we had a nice what was left of my afternoon watching F1 (my only useless contribution to which was “Aren't the cars nice colours?” GS thinks I’m a lost cause!). Today I have to ring my mobile provider and find out when I can get out of my contract. They want to put another five pounds (cost of living apparently) onto what I am paying which will make it very expensive. Other than that, not a lot going on here. A walk today if the weather stays dry.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning all from a light cloud and dry 1deg. in Glasgow
Back to the to do list today. Mainly small bits and pieces around the house which need attention.
I hope you have a better day Marydoll 💐
Fingers firmly crossed Urms 🤞
Best wishes to all for a good day.
Good morning from a wet West York's.It's raining at the moment,Urms fingers crossed for your oh .* *
Marydoll*Sorry you had another bad day .Shazza I couldn't think about tackling those steps .
Good morning from a bright, dry Durham after an early damp start.
My cough continues, often with embarrassing side effects!
Going for coffee with a friend this morning - I’m overthinking the coughing! Lounge finished yesterday, while I was out with DGS1. I’m pleased with it, and there’s only a tin of unsuitable varnish to return.
🤞for Urms DH today.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from a very sunny Angus coast. The hills were a dazzling white when I first looked out, but they're hidden at the moment under another snow shower. It's windy too, so I expect it's bitterly cold outside.
Safe journeys grandmattie and brook and have a lovely time both of you.
You are in my thoughts today Urms.
Hope you have a better day today Marydoll.
Tai chi paperwork is first on the agenda for me today and a bit of prep before my 'new' class tomorrow, but nothing much other than that. That snow cloud seems to be making its way in this direction, so not going out sounds good.
Have a good day everyone x
Good morning from a dull dampN. Bucks.
DH is off to golf but may only get 9 holes in due to the weather.
I shall be having a day at home after a busy weekend. There is a bit of ironing to do and some baking this morning. Some tidying of my craft room and some artwork this afternoon and evening.
Safe journeys to those on the move and thoughts with those who are poorly.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning all from a cloudy W Kent. Off to visit DF for coffee this morning and a catch up on our respective families. DH has suddenly had a run of bad nights he says nothing is worrying him so I am keeping an eye on him.
Glad you have had some reassuring news Urms
Safe travels gM and hopefully a better day Marydoll
Best wishes to all
Distinctly colder this morning so an indoor day, I think. Plenty of sorting out and putting away as well as a couple of loads of washing to tackle - not sure it will be worth hanging it out, but we’ll see.
Hope those poorly have a better day and that those waiting for news are pleased and encouraged. Spring feels a very long way off.
No Matt + Monday.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester. Alexa tells me it’s 4°C and showers are expected today. Himself has an appointment this morning at the GP surgery to discuss his anaemia. He was however hugely reassured yesterday afternoon as he received a text telling him his recent FIT showed no blood in his stool sample. My fingers and toes are firmly crossed now and the good wishes in here mean a lot to me. Thank you.
Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton, light rain forecast. No plans made for today, but I am hoping that M&S text me to say that my order is in so that I can go and collect it.
The cats will not be friends with me today as I need to give them their flea and worming spot-on medication before they go to the cattery tomorrow. I find it easier to catch them while they are peacefully asleep, then they will run away and sulk for the rest of the day.
Spent more time in the garden yesterday, tidying up the rest of the shrubs and then sweeping up the massive amount of leaves that had accumulated over the winter. Just weeding and forking over a couple of borders to do now, but it will have to wait till I get back from my holiday. I also need to get a man in to replace a fence, and repair another one. Spoke to a neighbour yesterday and apparently it is badgers digging up the lawn.
Have a good Monday everyone.
Good morning from chilly Leicestershire.
Popping to Marks this morning to pick up an order. Not going to Pilates I think I overdid it last week!
Hoping for good news Urms and wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning from avery chilly but dry Suffolk although rain is forecast later….much needed as the garden is so dry and the streams around here too.
A day of indoor tasks after our dog walk awaits. I hope those with medical appointments have positive outcomes and those with pain find some comfort and relief.
Good morning from Shropshire where it’s not quite as cold.
I am hoping for a quieter few days after a busy time.I have a list of things I want to complete over the next few days with lots of reading in between times🤞🏻
It was good to read your positive news in soop’s kitchen Urms and I hope today brings more reassurance.
Hope Grandmabatty’s nursery has a good day, that Mary has a better day and that the painkillers help baubles manage the day at work.
Safe travels all on the move.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where we’ve had overnight rain.
Iron infusions always made a visible difference to my Mum’s health Mick, I hope it has the same effect for you.
Safe travels gM and brook.
I’m back to work today after my break which I had hoped would see off the pain in my back but sadly not. I even rang the surgery on Friday and surprisingly got an appointment for that morning. The doctor has given me a slip to have an X-ray which I’ll do tomorrow. I also have stronger pain relief so hopefully that will get me through the day.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a dull Black Country, where it has rained overnight.
Monday walk as usual, then this afternoon I am taking part in a Future Health programme. I have already completed a questionnaire, this afternoon they will check my height, weight, waist measurement, blood test and cholesterol check.
Thinking of you today Urms
Sorry to hear you are still feeling unwell Marydoll
Safe journey grandMattie
