There was me thinking you’d resorted to turps dogsmother. 😂

Try organic or biodynamic red wines... contain only naturally present sulphites
Big commercial producers add more sulphites which is what triggers my 'axe' headaches... speak to a wine merchant... these wines do not have to be expensive!!

Yes GSM - Kl
Bacardi….if I stick to this ( plus mixer ) and nothing else there’s no problem. I certainly enjoy it now and again, but that’s it.

Or worse …

You’re reduced to drinking white spirit OP? 😱

Sassanach512 Mon 06-Mar-23 14:52:50

I can't drink any more than one glass of red wine I always feel hungover next morning if I have more. White wine is fine no hangover at all. Is it the tannin in the red grape skins that can cause the trouble? Now gin I can quaff with no problems at all....oops I'm sounding like a right wino here! blush

I'm the same. I was brought up to drink, and live in wine country so wine with a meal is standard. But I usually wake up with a splitting headache. I have to remind myself of the consequences before I partake.

However, I have sometimes had a drink and no headache, and, quite often, not had any alcohol but still wake up with an axe in my head in the morning.

O poor you! Does white or rose have the same effect?

dogsmother Mon 06-Mar-23 13:44:40

No more for me.
I love a glass of Merlot, or Malbec. Cabernet……it doesn’t like me. Every time I think it it’s okay it comes back and punishes me with a migraine or massive sickness. My own fault, so I am sworn off and will remain on my chosen white spirit.
