Just that really.

I quite like a bit of royal news/gossip, but even I’ve switched off now. Those two are boring. No magic or allure. Just whingeing and out for money. Feel sorry for those children.

Quite a few dogs at Crufts called Archie!
Not heard a Lilibet yet.

I read that Prince Philip called the late Queen ‘Cabbage’. What a shame they didn’t pick that nickname.

A brilliant suggestion!

Ah, how sweet!

Mon petit chou

Do recall reading that Philip also called his wife sausage!

Callistemon21 Fri 10-Mar-23 20:12:52

Oh, I think you're right, it was sausage, not cabbage!!

Callistemon21 Fri 10-Mar-23 20:16:44

Tentacle 🤔
Are you likening Harry to an octopus?

One tentacle still clinging on to prestige and money, seven others waving around looking for a secure foothold somewhere?

Poor Harry, that's not a kind analogy.

Perhaps he meant "my little pastry"?

Joseanne Fri 10-Mar-23 20:18:54

As in choux

Callistemon21 Fri 10-Mar-23 20:19:43

I think it was saucisson!

Joseanne Fri 10-Mar-23 20:28:32

Aha, so saucisson and chou. An acquired taste.

Mallin Fri 10-Mar-23 21:01:37

I think it might be our King to decide if the children are designated Prince and Princess. The parents haven’t dared, so far, to call their son Prince Archie, have they

I knew I was setting myself up for a rebuke when I posted my comment. For about a half a year I’ve been trying to figure out the collective British mindset. But I’ve been only tapping into a small segment of society - older women. It’s been a trip, what can I say. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Some provide great reading, others not so much.

For those that have to express their verbal “rage”, well, Gransnet still allows you to do that. It just isn’t ladylike and by the time I was finished reading it - I. Was. Exhausted.

This thread was overwhelmingly negative and there was hardly any room for any counter viewpoint. Thx to Casdon who expressed that. I think others were afraid to tread here. There’s nothing like a gang of older women. 😆

Harry’s tentacle is his branch on the family tree, bloodline. Go ahead and make fun - that can’t be erased.

The original post was about a child and veered off from there. Nothing went over my head, I totally understand the passion. I’m getting to know the Ladies by name and “brand.”

If I am ever ladylike I want someone to come and shoot me.

Could it be that King Charles finally got around to changing titles with Archie and Lilli at the same time he made Edward the DofE and there is no drama? I mean, they have been invited to the coronation haven't they?

Probably.

Impossible task, there isn't one!! 😂

imaround Fri 10-Mar-23 21:57:27

Not changing. Applying rightful titles maybe? Bestowing? Not sure what word I am looking for here.

It was the use of the word tentacle that was amusing, Gundy

Harry is a human not an octopus.

Calendargirl

You mean babies don’t come out through your belly button?

To think all these years I have been labouring under a misapprehension!

(This is to Callistemon).

Do you know, I really thought that until I was taught differently in biology lessons at school when I was about 12.
I must have been very naïve.

Tentacles. Oh, I thought we were back to Disney stuff again.

Squishy, isn't it, in Finding Nemo?

No there isn’t, not a collective American mindset either.

'This thread was overwhelmingly negative'.
Well, that is because it expresses the sentiments of those who post. There isn't a limited amount of space; those who have positive views of H & M are entitled to post, but I think you will find there are few of them. Most people here view them with contempt; it is the constant flow of lies over matters great and small, and we don't like the way they exploit their relationship to the royal family to make money.
Not done over here.

Kartush Fri 10-Mar-23 23:18:22

So when the poor child is an adult does she not have the right to drop the princess title?

Gundy Sat 11-Mar-23 00:00:02

Oreo - you are correct! “There is not a collective American mindset either.” We are so split politically.

I’ve been “researching” the British mindset in hopes of finding a new country to move to in case Trump is reelected President.

Indeed the idea of a collective mindset is a myth pretty much everywhere. There are just loud mouths who think yelling loudly enough in an echo chamber will convince others that their opinions and mentality represent the whole. It’s pitiful.
