A pleasant day so far. I met a friend for brunch. Three hours later we left the restaurant. 🤣 We don't see each other a lot as she's still working but we message each other often. Nice brunch and good company. Now I'm waiting for a wine delivery. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

You are doing well with those little ones grandmabatty and will have slept well.
Thank you Jax for keeping my feet on the ground. Our greenhouse is unheated and the veg beds haven’t been weeded yet. I’m keep getting the feeling that we are behind and won’t catch up but in truth sharp frosts over the last 3 nights would have stopped any seedlings. Today I shall cut the lawn before my haircut and do some snipping afterwards. My hairdresser finishes on Friday for maternity leave so I need to go.
I wonder how the Soops are getting on?
Have a good day everyone and enjoy the sunshine.

A late visit to the kitchen from me, our visitors are well fed and seem to have settled in comfortably. Ive just come through to the bedroom and left them all to it, I can’t stay awake much longer! DD2 and DGS also popped round and we played board games and chatted, all in all a lovely evening
Sounds like you’ve had a good day too grandmabatty, two happy little boys
Take it easy Blossoming but so good you’re feeling energised!
Jax won’t be long now until you can get planting …

Grandmabatty Tue 04-Apr-23 19:22:57

I think we are all liking the better weather and lighter nights. I have a chicken curry cooking. Dgs1 was fabulous today. Helpful and well behaved. Dgs2 was difficult this morning. He would not go for a nap despite being very tired. He was so grumpy! I managed to get him down and then less than half an hour later the door rattled and woke him up. It was my aunt who I love dearly but I was cursing her inwardly. Anyway, after lunch I took both boys to the big park where dgs1 ran about wild. He really enjoyed himself. When we went home, dgs2 did go for another nap at this one nearly two hours long and woke sunny tempered and happy. I love them both very much but I'm always glad when it's Tuesday evening! Blossoming it sounds as if you have been really productive. Jaxjacky " a lovely photo. *Grannmarie I really hope the wee dog is reunited with your brother and his wife. BlueBalou you'll need another holiday to recover. I'm off to have my curry. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

I know Jax! I think it’s a combination of things. The weather, lighter evenings and being discharged from the cancer clinic. I’m being good (ish) and pacing myself.

Jaxjacky Tue 04-Apr-23 18:28:30

Lovely picture llfl I read a book about the London love lock bridge; Imogen is not far from Salzburg.
Gentle hour or two chopping bits in the garden, the itch to start sowing outside must wait to be scratched, the greenhouse is unheated.
I hope you don’t crash Blossoming, you sound very perky!
Enjoy your evening all.

Blossoming Tue 04-Apr-23 17:48:19

Good evening dear Kitcheners. It’s been a sunny and chilly day here again. Spring cleaning continues apace, I have emptied the cutlery drawer and replaced the organiser which was broken at one side and cracked. I’m always very pleased when I manage to do fiddly things as I’m not very dexterous these days grin. Washed everything, ruthlessly disposed of anything we don’t use, then put the rest back neatly. The wildlife pond is coming along nicely under Mr. B’s care. I’m feeling quite energised this week, I may crash by Friday!

Lovely photos Jax and LadyLFL.

Have a good evening all 🌹

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 04-Apr-23 16:15:11

Just got back from Salzburg. A very good and interesting day. Here is a photo of their ‘lock bridge’. Lovers fix padlocks to the bridge and throw the key in the river. I think the first one was in Paris.

Grannmarie Tue 04-Apr-23 11:07:01

Thank you, Jaxjacky, me too.🤞

Stunning photo, I hope Imogen has a fantastic time!

brook2704 Tue 04-Apr-23 11:00:02

Awww such a lovely photo Jax thanks for sharing!

Jaxjacky Tue 04-Apr-23 09:20:44

Phew gbatty and breathe!
I hope dog and owners will be reunited today Grannmarie what a palaver.
Photo of the happy faces, worth it in the end!

Grannmarie Mon 03-Apr-23 23:25:53

Late update, my brother and sister in law have waited all day, but sadly not been reunited with their dear dog. They weren't allowed to see him at all and are beyond upset. Details are sketchy but they are allowed to visit him tomorrow. He has never been apart from them like this. Such a stressful homecoming, two cancelled flights and now this. I'm praying 🙏 to St Francis, patron saint of animals.

YiaYia, I hope your hives and anxiety settle down soon, you are in a major life changing situation. 💕

Blossoming, Brook, Blue Balou, you've all been very busy B's!🤣

Grandmabatty, a lovely day indeed with your wee boys. 👦🧒

LLL, the food on your holiday sounds amazing, let alone the destinations! Enjoy every minute.

NNGB.

Oooff! I’m pooped.
After a very wet week away on the Dorset coast I’ve just about got everything cleaned and put away, just a bit of ironing to do.
We had a great time despite gales, fog, storms and more rain.
I hate the return home, it’s such a faff.
This morning I went into town after an early DDog walk, order the materials for a small patio (arriving Wednesday), got the car washed, did a bit of shopping, came home and walked to my lovely manicurist who’s sorted out my nails, made lunch and spent the afternoon doing bits and pieces.
Probably overdid it but hey ho 🙄😊
DD is coming this evening for a couple of days, it will be lovely to see her.
Tomorrow is quieter I hope!
Sending hugs and love x

So good to hear about your holiday llfl and where your new place is each day, I feel like I’m travelling along with you and it sounds really lovely
Such a shame the sunshine hurts your eyes Blossoming and you can’t enjoy it for long, hope you get to enjoy a little bit of warmth though
Bet that’s a relief grandmabatty, pleased the keys ok and you’ve had a good day with the DGSs. Early night tonight I hope
The weather has been good here today, at last some spring sunshine, washing is dry and has all been put away. I’ve been busy cooking this afternoon, a chicken and leek pie, a lasagne, an Easter chocolate cake and a fruit crumble - all ready for our visitors for the next couple of days. It’s one of my stepsons that’s driving up from Manchester, along with his wife and 13 year old son, they’ll be here until Friday and then a different stepson and family are arriving on Sunday. A bit like buses, no visitors for a while and then they all come at once!
Yia good to see you, sorry to hear you’re suffering with hives and anxiety. Once you find your ideal property hopefully things will ease a bit - everything crossed for you
Take it easy with the spring cleaning grannmarie and rest up that leg a bit!

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 03-Apr-23 17:18:22

Hello everyone. Quite a hectic day today. Durnstein (where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned) this morning and Melk abbey this afternoon. I was tempted by chocolate covered marzipan in a shop in Durnstein. Salzburg tomorrow. Have a good evening.

Blossoming Mon 03-Apr-23 17:16:27

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. It’s glorious sunshine here today. I can’t stay out too long as the UV hurts my eyes even in dark glasses, butty it makes life more cheerful doesn’t it? I’ve been spring cleaning too * Grannmarie*, I’m very slow so it lasts a while grin Mr. B has been working in the garden. Lovely to see you YiaYia, good luck with the house hunting, hope you’re less stressed soon. What a relief that the key still works Grandmabatty, it sounds like you had a good day with the GC apart from the early start.

I need a shower before dinner, we’re having turkey breast with veg of some kind. TTFN smile

Grandmabatty Mon 03-Apr-23 16:51:26

Good afternoon kitcheners. Success! The car key card had a new battery installed and everything works well. Phew. I've had a lovely day with the boys today. When dgs2 went down for a nap in the morning, dgs1 and I played in the garden. I introduced him to chives which he loved, despite not liking onions. In the afternoon we walked to the swings and played there for a while. The weather turned warmer this afternoon so it's been fun. The early start was a killer. Up at five means I'm very tired now. Roast chicken for dinner. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Yiayia4 Mon 03-Apr-23 16:49:31

Hello Kitcheners.I’ve been absent for a while.
Lots going on it’s all very hectic and, still house
hunting. The survey has been done on our house and the young couple can’t wait to move in!!We are going to our DS2 in Derbyshire on Thursday and, have lots of properties to view that’s another option.
Sadly it’s all taken it’s toll on me.Most days I’m covered in hives that itch like mad and it’s putting my anxiety through the roof.Thankfully I have great doctors and they are treating me for both.

Soop have a wonderful trip and safe journey.
Pleased Imogen arrived safe and hopes she enjoys every minute.
Sounds like you had a lovely visit with the wee boy Grandmarie.
Have a pleasant evening all,the sun is shining here I hope it is for you all.

Grannmarie Mon 03-Apr-23 15:43:02

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people!

Safe journey, Soops, enjoy your family reunion.

Cornergran, thank you, my brother and sister in law arrived in London this morning. They are still waiting to be reunited with their dear dog, such a long wait.

Jaxjacky, I'm so glad Imogen has arrived in Austria, I'm looking forward to seeing her snow photos.

Aww, Grandmabatty, I hope it still works OK. Enjoy your childcare day with the wee boys.

We had a nice visit yesterday see our wee boy 👦 and his Mummy and Daddy. We took over their Easter gifts and sat in the garden, it was warm in the sun for a wee while. The wee boy enjoyed chasing the bubbles from the bubble machine we had brought him! On our way home we popped into my sister's, her baby granddaughter was there, lovely to have a wee cuddle.

I've started spring cleaning the living room today, sofa covers, cushions and throws are washed and out on the line. It's a start, I'll need to keep going although at the moment I'm 'resting my leg' AKA on the
( bare ) sofa with GN!

Wishing you all the best Monday possible.

Nannytopsy Sun 02-Apr-23 23:45:53

? What happened there?!

Nannytopsy Sun 02-Apr-23 23:45:15

Tired but happy here. DGS1 and DiL missed lunch due to a stomach bug but we there use a lovely day with DGS2 and GGS. Made porchetta which was delicious even if I say so myself!
We had some sun and the forecast looks good - gardening this week? I do hope so!

Jaxjacky Sun 02-Apr-23 18:14:06

Have the best visit soop.
llfl I couldn’t eat that much! I’m a one main meal a day person, sounds lovely though.
Oops gbatty bet you’re not the first, hope it dries out.
We’ve had sun for the last couple of hours, very welcome too, although I’m pleased to see reservoirs are filling up after all the rain.
Sowed some seeds, indoors, frost this week is forecast for us.
Ham hock for dinner and a watch of Grace.
Enjoy your evening.

brook2704 Sun 02-Apr-23 17:59:50

Yikes grandmabatty I wouldn’t have a clue what to do about that - I hope you can get it dried out though and it still works in your car, fingers and toes crossed! 🤞

Grandmabatty Sun 02-Apr-23 15:24:21

Soop have a wonderful family time away. I leave my house in clean condition too, if I go away. I couldn't stand coming home and cleaning. Ladyleftfieldlover enjoy the rest of your cruise. It sounds marvellous. I did a stupid thing I washed my key card for the car in the washing machine accidentally. Now it won't open the car door without some jiggery-pokery. I am seriously annoyed at myself. I have been for ice cream with dd and the boys. The cherry ice cream was sumptuous. The air smelled of the country. 🥴🤢The rest of the day will be peaceful. Hopefully I'll be able to get in the car in the morning. Enjoy your afternoon kitcheners.

brook2704 Sun 02-Apr-23 15:03:02

Have a wonderful trip soop and enjoy the priceless family time. I’m the same with cleaning, I always like to leave my house sparkling clean whenever we go away, it’s always so welcoming then when we get back!
Your cruise sounds lovely llfl enjoy every minute
Hoping by now that Imogen has safely arrived and enjoying the snow ⛄️
