My greatest weakness is peanuts and Cadbury's Whole Nut chocolate? What is yours?

Haagen-dazs ice cream

GrannyBeek Sat 18-Mar-23 11:20:24

Ice cream! You’d be shocked at how much I can eat at one sitting.

Digestive biscuits thickly spread with Philadelphia cheese. Books - I'll take some to my local charity shop and come back with more!. Coffee with evaporated milk and my son.

Buying plants - and I decided to give up buying plants for Lent this year. Oh, thank goodness Easter is only two weeks away!

Crisps - I love a bag of crisps

GrammaH Sat 18-Mar-23 11:17:34

Crisps, preferably hand cooked plain salted ones or Tyrrels chilli ones in the red packets. I can also never refuse a Lindor ball of any flavour although the sea salt ones are just amazing.

Lemon Drizzle cake and Banana cake

Mine always used to be ice cream, just plain vanilla or Cornish. I could eat so much of it.. now I’ve controlled myself a lot better, also tiger bread with butter is so tasty

Any chocolate!

Chocolate, tea and handbags.

Cheese.

I try to restrict myself to a piece of 'real' cheese from the cheesemonger (both Glasgow and Edinburgh are fortunate to have both IJ Mellis and George Mewes) have as an occasional treat. I do, however, have a big thing for cheese on toast for which the real cheese would be an expensive extravagance. The big blocks of "Essential Cheddar" from Waitrose are ideal for this.

Oh, and yes Ashcombe, olives! I can polish of a complementary plate of them in seconds. I do remember Mrs Nicholson, one of my primary school teachers, telling us that olives were a grown-up taste and we probably wouldn't like them. That Christmas we went to visit parental friends who were a bit posher than us and they had dishes of olives out. Never having been one to be told what I would or wouldn't like, I tried one. And another. And a third.. Before long I'd scoffed that plateful and a couple of others.

Love Raw peanut butter cups (encased in vegan chocolate) - and their caramel choc bars - arrive regularly through the letter box since I said I liked them - wonderful. I really admire those that can limit themselves to one chocolate a day. I'm a 'one with every cup of tea' person.

Chocolate in any shape or form, I can’t have it in the house, if it’s there I just can’t resist it.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 17-Mar-23 10:15:57

I try not to indulge too often but I adore those fab chocolates from Lindor and now which is worse for me you can select your own flavours and put them in a box, size and amount exactly to your wishes. I don't buy them every week or I'd be the size of a house - they are very difficult to resist.

Apart from cream teas and I prefer apricot jam - it has to be books and plants :

I could take a supermarket trolley to Waterstones .
I love plant nurseries .
Another weakness - browsing in charity shops for bargain clothes especially dresses .

Milk. I have realised that if I have to do without tea for any length of time, what I'm missing is the milk, not the tea. I drink cupfuls of the stuff at bedtime and often between meals.

Simple pleasure!
