Definitely get somewhere that you really like and not move for the sake of it. My parents managed to stay in their house by just shutting down rooms and dealing with the essentials. However, if you find somewhere you really like then it will make it much easier to move on. And, as mentioned by Jacky B, useful amenities within bus/walking,driving distance.

Bear in mind that you are not getting any younger and look out for somewhere where you have easy access to a local GP, chemist and railway station or bus stop.

Have lived in my house for over 50 years, two husbands and three children later it is time to move on. I love gardening and having people around me.
Want to be open to all sorts of ideas and thought I would ask for your experiences and suggestions to help me ‘think outside the box’. I am luckily fit and healthy but am finding it difficult, widowed and emotionally attached to my home to envisage alternatives that would be more appropriate as I get older.

Looking for inspiration or just good practical ideas.
