Good Morning Everyone,
The dawn is just about to break with a clear sky over brackley this morning.
Today , before operation tomorrow sees drinking liquid although I can have a tea without milk and a couple slices of toast , the remainder of the day will be water and vegetable juice.
I will also sort out a rucksack for essentials I need when in hospital .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a sunny NE.
I have the day to myself so whatever pleases me I will do.
Family came yesterday and brought a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses and left gifts for me to open today. The gifts are Belgian chocolates and a very long thin hot water bottle which is brilliant for my aching joints.
I had saved the piano so that I could watch it with GD, we loved it, so very moving.
Have a good day everyone.

Everything crossed for your DD Gingster. She’s in good hands.

Good morning from a cloudy and grey Black Country.

Had a visit yesterday from DS, DIL and DGD (13), Eldest DGD is on holiday with her boyfriend!

Today we are going to DD's with Mum and my brother and his wife will be there. Sadly, their DD, my Niece cannot join us due to the train strike. She lives in London.

This morning will be spent packing as we are off to Lanzarote Monday afternoon.

So sorry to hear about your DD Gingster hoping she will be home soon flowers

Good morning from Durham. I’ll get DD2’s laundry dry today and drop it off on my way to lunch with DD1 and family.
Very sorry to hear Gingster’s DD is in hospital - probably best to be assessed properly - hope it’s a short stay and home soon.
Good luck Mick for tomorrow.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning, another glorious sunny morning from s somerset

I am finished with chores for the day, letting my small expresso go down and will then get ready for a cycle ride. It is no mental effort to go out when the sun calls me

I saw a pale green bloom on passing trees yesterday, spring is very nearly here, the best time of time of year, new growth and a promise of better to come

Good morning this Mothering Sunday from a bright Suffolk. We hope for sun and warmth later as we are meeting DS and his tribe( his word) at the coast about 5 miles from us later this morning for lunch. Our DDs live at least 4 hours away at different sides of the country so we won’t see them today. No doubt their DC will be serving them breakfast in bed.

I hope that today brings some joy to all mothers wherever they are and whatever their circumstances.

Thinking of Mick and hoping all goes well tomorrow.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
Gingster I'm sorry to hear about your DD. Love to her and you flowers.
I'm still not 100% so a quiet day indoors.
Good luck for tomorrow Mick.
Happy Mother's Day xx

Good morning all from a glorious Spring morning on the Angus coast. What a joy to sit eating breakfast in the sunshine - even on the north-facing side of the house!
Gone are my days of being a Mum again Maw, and helping out, although I used to be babysitter -in-chief for DD. But when DD said they were coming over and would be bringing the food I immediately set to and made two family favourites to go with it! You can't keep a good Mum down 😁
Will be thinking of you tomorrow Mick and trusting all goes well.
Grandmattie I can't remember if you have a moving date yet? I do hope it's soon and you can relax a bit again. You have been such a miracle worker. There are so many 'last times' aren't there - it's never easy flowers
BlueSapphire your photos yesterday of your Safari brought back so many happy memories of ours in Kenya. The elephants were my particular favourites and I can bore for Britain with my stories of them! Have a wonderful time.
Happy arrival in your happy place Urms and keep enjoying your Spanish odyssey Brook.
For the stay-at-homes like myself have a happy Mother's Day full of wonderful memories of when the children were small and joy and wonder at the amazing people they have grown up to be. May those thoughts ease the pain and discomfort, whether in mind or body, so many are experiencing just now x

Good morning all. Got woke up by son number three calling for his golf clubs. I did forget he was playing golf today near us. Lovely though we had tea and toast together and a quick chat. He will return for lunch later. Two other sons called yesterday and we all got together for chat and tea. Some light gardening and easy day. Happy Mother’s Day to all.

Marydoll Sun 19-Mar-23 08:16:52

Gingster, so sorry to hear about your daughter. Hopefully this admission will mean she gets the support she needs. 💐

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Church first in the smallest and oldest church in the Benefice. Campion hid nearby! Then OH and I are having lunch at our favourite restaurant for celebrations. I hope Steak Diane is on the menu. My two sons rarely remember Mothering Sunday but I’ve had a card from my daughter. She’ll bring me chocolate next weekend when she comes to stay. Have a good day.

Gingster Sun 19-Mar-23 08:11:25

Good morning all and it’s bright and sunny here in Essex.

I have little gd staying with us as Dd had to be admitted to hospital on Friday, as she was so poorly. She’s in the Oncology Assessment ward, which is brand new and she’s the only one in there. We’ll visit this afternoon.

Happy Mothers Day ! ❤️

Marydoll Sun 19-Mar-23 08:05:06

Happy Mother's Day all from Glasgow, where its 6°C.

As has been said, take it easy today Mick and best wishes for tomorrow.

brook, lovely photos. We had the holiday from hell in Almerimar, just as it was opening up thirty five years ago. A hotel and not much else. The weather was awful and I was covered head to toe in mosquito bites.
We used to escape on the bus to Almeria the shoe capital of Spain! I thought I had died and gone to heaven!
You look as if you are having a better time! 😄

I received my gift from DD and SIL yesterday, They brought me a beautiful bouquet, then took me on a road trip to the posh charity shops in some villages about 25 minutes away. I had a ball!
In one of the villages, SIL spotted a gift shop, which was closing down. There was an unusual faux plant, which I admired, but was not priced. When I asked the price, the owner laughed and said it was a display item. She promptly put it in my bag and said I could have it for free! DD and SIL couldn't stop laughing😂

I seem to have a bit of a chest infection and I know where it came from. The menthol crystals and steamer will be coming out!
We had a surprise visit from DS2, DIL and the bold Dollie on Friday evening. She had a touch of croup and is now quite unwell. She was meant to have a girl's day with mummy yesterday, while DS was at the rugby. She was so upset that she didn't get.
We shall pop up and see her today.
For those spending the day with family enjoy and for those with sons and daughter's far away, 💐

A quiet day for me, yesterday has taken its toll, a morning's activities is ore than enough for me. I should listen to advice and pace myself!

Gala Sun 19-Mar-23 07:52:44

Good morning everyone. A dull day here in Sefton.
Family lunch gathering in a local restaurant is the only plan for today. It's not often we're all able to get together so looking forward to it.
Good wishes to Mick for a positive outcome tomorrow. Take care all.

Wyllow3 Sun 19-Mar-23 07:47:34

Morning from A mostly sunny S Yorks.

Nicely put, Ash.
Well done not he prep Mick
and special thoughts your way gMattie.

Mothering Sunday has never been a "big day" in our family: my mum never wanted to be fussed over: there will be WhatSapps flying around and DiL gets to stay in bed as long as she wants with breakfast, which with 4 little ones is a treat in itself.

Its Quakers - maybe the gym, maybe home to read, I'm really under the weather CFS these days.
