Mick is probably still in hospital and I’m taking on his mantle for today.
News coming next. X

Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire. Another quiet day today. I think. Pottering is the word! Maybe a bit of baking, certainly reading. I f have been rereading Barbara Pym. OH has his beekeeping course tonight. He has been making lists of all the equipment he is going to buy! Hives obviously, but other things too. Have a good day. Best wishes to Mick. I have nothing but praise for the Oxford hospitals - apart from the parking shenanigans!

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it's currently 9°C.

Thank you GM for opening up, I hope all is well with Mick and Gingster's DD is improving.

Nothing much planned for today, apart from packing for out two nights away.
I'm still suffering dizzy spells, so I want to be at my best.

brook, I am so envious of your trip,
Enjoy Oban, momb. I have a notion to visit, but DH dislikes the drive there, after once having a very scary experience with an oil tanker on the old Rest and be Thankful road.
I'm trying to persuade him to go by train or coach, like corner is doing.
Sar, a very worrying time for you, I hope the doctors get to the bottom of things.

Have a pleasant day everyone.

Good Morning grandMattie and everyone from Hull. Thankyou for opening up for Mick. It’s a dull damp day today.

BlueSapphire your pictures are gorgeous.
Brook enjoy your last day and safe journey home tomorrow.

Sar I hope your brother gets a diagnosis and treatment to start getting well. So worrying 💐

I may go to the gym this morning and do two sessions this week I do enjoy it when I get there.
This afternoon DD and the girls are coming over. DH is going to help her clean the inside of her car. They will stay for an early dinner. I’ve got smoked haddock out. Lots of snuggles from the delightful little ladies.

Have a good day everyone. Thinking of those struggling with illness and family worries. 🌻🌻

Gingster Tue 21-Mar-23 07:47:39

Urms you will look very swish! I’m imagining you sashaying to the wine bar looking every inch like Audrey Hepburn . 😎

Gingster Tue 21-Mar-23 07:43:10

Good morning all and yes it’s grey, and damp here in Essex.

I’ve had another sleepless night, my cold seems to be getting worse. I’m rarely Ill and haven’t had a cold for years. I can’t visit DD In the hospital like this! We keep in constant touch by messages. The latest is she will have her scan sometime this week, she was due to have it in April. Consultant is away til Thursday. Things change by the day and all the various medical staff say different things. She is still feeling nauseous and achey and weak. Results of coming off steroids ? Who knows?

Dh will take food round to the twin gs and pick up more washing. Little gd being picked up for school by DD’s friend., - lots of kind people who want to help.

Sar worrying news of your db. I hope they get to the bottom of his problems soon .🙏.

Beautiful pic BlueSapphire. It looks like a tapestry.

Have a gentle day. 🌷

Good morning from a dull W Kent. Thank you for opening up gM. I am off to the earwax removal centre. I have problems with my ears and really don’t want it done but wearing hearing aids makes it a necessity.
Hope to hear Mick is fine
Thinking of Ginster and her DD
Take care everyone

brook2704 Tue 21-Mar-23 07:32:14

Good morning everyone from Spain, our last day here before travelling home to Inverness tomorrow
Hoping all has gone well for mick and thanks for opening up gMattie
Hoping everything is ok with your brother Sar, worrying times
Today we want to go back to some of our favourite places that we’ve found here, the cathedral square for a coffee, a quick walk around the Alcazaba, another visit to a gorgeous moroccan teteria and a last walk along the beachfront stopping for an ice cream along the way - as you do!
Enjoy your holiday in Glencoe momb, I expect lots of very scenic walking will be involved
Such a beautiful holiday BlueSapphire keep sending the gorgeous pics!
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Morning from a damp S Hants. School run and taking my daughter out for coffee later.
Nearly there gMattie.
Thoughts with Mick and Gingster.
Enjoy your break momb.
Have a pleasant day all 🦩🦩

Good morning all from a damp Black country.
Thanks for opening GM hope Mick is on the road to recovery.
Yesterday we had a good clear up in the back garden ready for the first garden waste collection of the year, they are doing this one free of charge and then they have bought in a charge of £35. We shall pay but I do wander about those who can't afford it if there will be any fly tipping which will consequently cost the council more to clear up.
I'm off to a friend and ex work colleagues retirement lunchtime.
Thoughts with Ginster and her DD 💐.
Enjoy your Tuesday whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 21-Mar-23 07:19:05

Morning all

Thank you grandMattie for starting the day, you have definitely got yourself organised for your move.

Sorting out freezer is on the to do list before picking up DD’s boys from school and pre-school. It is very grey more autumnal than spring like.

Sar53 that is worrying regarding your brother, fingers crossed the hospital gets to the root of the problem. Thinking of your DD Gingster 🌸

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Pittcity Tue 21-Mar-23 07:18:53

Good morning from a grey, damp but mild Colchester.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day. We are between managers yet again and I am the only Tuesday volunteer, so I don't know who'll be there today.
Better shake a leg.
Love to all 🦩 x

Urmstongran Tue 21-Mar-23 07:12:41

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga 😎
It’s Tuesday = my Ladies Who Wine 🍷 afternoon. I will put on the new dress I bought from FatFace in Manchester airport I think and head to the bar straight from the hair salon below. I have some new Haviana sunglasses in green to pop on which will coordinate nicely with my dress. Serendipity! Another holidaymaker is out for a month so that’ll be 4 of us in total. I can’t wait to see them all and catch up on their news. I started this weekly group just over 8 years ago when I first retired and the 2 ladies who live out here meet every week together, so it just keeps ticking along, ready for us holidaymakers to drop into as and when.
😁

BlueSapphire Tue 21-Mar-23 07:10:59

Good morning everyone from another beautiful sunny day in South Africa. We've had two nights at this hotel which has been nice, especially living out of a suitcase!
We had a wonderful tour yesterday up 3000 ft to the Valley of Desolation. It was sunset and the light falling on the rock formations was absolutely stunning - see pics. On the way up we saw wild zebra, ostrich and springbok. Out tour guide was equipped with cold boxes which he opened on the viewing deck to reveal a generous amount of sundowners! I enjoyed a glass of chilled sauvignon blanc!
Off on the coach again in about 45 minutes as we head to the Swartburg Mountains.
Hope Mick's op went well.
Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Georgesgran Tue 21-Mar-23 07:10:04

Good morning from Durham. Been awake since stupid o’clock.
My heartfelt thanks for yesterday’s messages of support re. my friend’s funeral. It was well attended and she had been loved - all still a bit surreal.
Today, I’ll meet a friend for coffee, a quick trip into Durham to collect a piece of jewellery I’ve had repaired, then back to a friend who is helping me fill in stupid and expensive online forms for my local council. Bet
I’ll need a rest later!
Sorry to hear of so many unwell folk in these early posts.
Best wishes to all. X

cornergran Tue 21-Mar-23 07:03:16

Morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

Thanks for opening up grandmattie, hope mick is comfortable.

Accepted a quote for our decorating yesterday. Mr C is finding this transition difficult. He used to do do it all and as he said this getting older lark is expensive. Beginning conservatory decorating cheered him, good to have something he can tackle.

We’re off on a coach today, Mr C’s idea. Over the bridge to the Royal Mint with time for a wander in Cardiff. Need to get a wriggle on, on our way in half an hour.

Take care everyone. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Grammaretto Tue 21-Mar-23 07:02:56

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The birds are singing loudly. I forgot to pull the blinds last night so the light is streaming in.

I have a couple of Helpers arriving today for a few days. I want them to do all the heavy jobs I can't.
It's a pity they can't stay longer or they could paint my bathroom. It needs it.

Take it gently gMattie. It's a lot to do by yourself.

I hope for good news from Mick and from Gingster

Enjoy your day everyone.

mumofmadboys Tue 21-Mar-23 06:59:59

Good morning from Glencoe ! We are here for a week's holiday, staying at the HF house. Weather mixed but had two lovely walks. May go to Oban for the day today. Hope everyone has a good day and hope Mick is recovering well.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 21-Mar-23 06:56:58

Good morning from the South Downs where it is mild - although it doesn’t feel it, and wet. I am getting just a bit fed up with this constant rain.

Nothing planned today so will potter about doing some housework.

Locanta stew for dinner.

karmalady Tue 21-Mar-23 06:53:48

Good morning, s somerset is damp again

Its a shame about the weather, whatever happened to the lovely gentle sunny spring

I think I am off on a car ride today, I need to be out and about. A slow start for me, next job is to put the tomato seedlings into a mini glasshouse, they are hardening

BlueBalou Tue 21-Mar-23 06:51:41

Good morning from damp Wiltshire, it’s a dull start here.
Yesterday I did a few bits in the garden, made a couple of cakes and generally pottered. The painter is here doing the bookcases so making cups of coffee and tea to keep him happy too.
Today it’s Ocado shop, DDog walker, clean through upstairs and change the bed, sort out art stuff to take on holiday on Saturday (off to the seaside!) and get the washing done. Nothing exciting!
Sending hugs to those who need a shoulder or a handhold, love to everyone x

Sar53 Tue 21-Mar-23 06:51:26

Good morning everyone from a damp and dreary Essex by the sea.
Thanks for opening GM, hopefully Mick will have had his op and be feeling better.
My youngest DB was taken into hospital last Friday unable to walk or even stand. He's had x rays and scans but the doctors don't seem to know what is wrong. A worrying time for him.
Today I must visit the Post Office and tackle the ironing.
Have a pleasant Tuesday everyone xx

Ashcombe Tue 21-Mar-23 06:41:41

Thanks for taking on the task, grandMattie. Many of us would miss this regular start to our day. I hope Mick's operation has gone well.

A dull, still morning here in Torbay but mild enough to manage without the CH for a good part of the day.

My local garage manager is willing to look at my car today so I have to depend on the kindness of others to take me to Props at the Theatre followed by lunch out to honour the birthday of one of them.

Do take care of yourself, grandMattie. You are so busy and having a gum infection could be a sign of being run down. I guess you have no choice about all there is to do with much to fulfil before moving.

Thoughts with Gingster and her DD. 💐

I hope you all enjoy whatever you have planned today. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Grandmabatty Tue 21-Mar-23 06:40:26

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and damp. Seems to be the same every morning recently. Grandmattie thanks for opening up. Mizuna I like the sound of a purple bathroom. Mine's is unashamedly pink.
Yesterday was a return to normality for me with the chaos of childcare. I did feel better for it. Dgs2 and I ventured to Aldi. He wasn't impressed with random old ladies enthusing over him. 🤣 However he was very helpful at holding things and dropping them into the bags before I reached the checkout 🥴 I did pay for everything! Dgs1 told me that the other boys and girls at nursery don't like him and my heart wept for him. Coincidentally his dad asked if he'd said anything when I dropped him off as he's said it a few times recently. Poor wee man. It's up to his parents to pursue that one.
Today more childcare. I'm still very tired after being unwell last week and the weekend, so we won't go far. I'm trying to eat really healthily, in case it was gallbladder related and not a bug so poached salmon and salad for dinner. Have a good day all.

kittylester Tue 21-Mar-23 06:37:47

Good morning all from a cloudy but, at least currently, dry North Leicestershire.

Up at 5.30 because dh has to pick up a drive at 7.15 from about 15 miles away.

Our cleaners are due at lunch time and I must tackle this ironing before they arrive.

Hope all has gone well for Mick and that everyone has a good day.

grandMattie Tue 21-Mar-23 06:34:27

Good morning from a dawning E Kent. Another grey day.
My visit to the dentist brought up a gum infection and consequent antibiotic. It was very sad as it would be the last time I’d see my dentist. I have been with her for the 35 years we’ve been in Kent. She has just graduated when she came here, so I was one of her very first patients! We’re good friends as well.
I then visited my friend in the nursing home. She’s really going downhill. I also took the last of many batches of incontinence pads that DH had hidden, just in case, over 20 years when he’d had his original prostatectomy.
Today is a bit frantic with tai chi, then lunch with same friends, I suspect a presentation of sorts… straight after that the Salvation Army is collecting my furniture - the house will be nearly empty.
Lastly, my ex-lodger’s friend will finally be collecting her zimmer frame. I had told dais ex-lodger that if it hadn’t gone very soon, I’d put it on the pavement! FGS, she left in early December!
I hope Gingster’s DD is improving, ver worrying times for the family.
May today bring sunshine into your hearts. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
