Mick is probably still in hospital and I’m taking on his mantle for today.
News coming next. X

Lovely to see you posting, Borrheid
I cannot believe your mum is that age.

I still remember clearly, the day you unexpectedly turned up at my mother's with your military boyfriend and his friend, asking me to go out to make up a foursome.

Surprisingly, my strict mother agreed!

Borrheid55 Tue 21-Mar-23 13:31:42

Shaz thank you. Forgot to say that Mother lives near Marydoll so about 450 miles from here in Kent! Quite daunting when I haven’t been able to get to Dover 20 miles away! It’s been awful to begin to regard myself as disabled. I used to think nothing of travelling to Scotland twice in one week and deliver training courses or speeches at a conference. Age doesn’t come with any ease! Have a good day!

ShazzaKanazza Tue 21-Mar-23 12:43:08

Blossoming please take care when out and about💐

Hello Borrheid55 lovely to see you post on here. I really hope you can manage the visit to see your Mum at Easter. I can’t imagine how you are feeling with your dizziness 💐

Dustyangel what a wonderful sounding weekend spent with family and friends. 🎉 such a lovely post to read x

Borrheid55 Tue 21-Mar-23 12:32:47

Marydoll greetings from Kent where it is dry and overcast . The train to Oban is wonderful. I delivered loads of training courses and 1:1 coaching for CalMac there. Always felt I was on holiday. Sitting on the harbour looking over to the little isle there at sunset was a joy. Hope you can persuade DH! I’m still ( and always will be) dizzy due to Bilateral Vestibular Hypofunction. Saw a physio on Sunday so will start Vestibular retraining when I have access to the online exercises. I’m determined to visit my mother at Easter - she was 91 on Sunday. I missed her 90th due to my balance problems as didn’t know -at that time - what it was. Now using two sticks when out and about, she’ll see quite a difference in her first born after three and a half years! Travelling is a problem but DH suggested that we go at night, if I can fall asleep I shouldn’t succumb to nausea. Fingers crossed. I’ve been getting quite tearful thinking that the time with her is getting shorter ( due to her age, nothing sinister!) and I’ve been unable to get to visit.
DH only has Friday to Monday morning , so it will be a flying visit. No plans to run round the rest of my huge family, Mummy is the priority. I do lurk here most days but feel that as I don’t lead a very exciting life, I have little of interest to report. But I do enjoy reading about all you lovely ladies! Marydoll in particular as we were at school together. Have a great day all !

Good morning everyone. It’s a pleasant mild day here in Lancashire. The heating is now firmly OFF. I didn’t get anything much done yesterday after my tumble. Today is off to a better start. I’m up, washed, dressed, made bed and not fallen over yet grin. Hoping for a walk this afternoon and must get on with some admin. Mr.B is continuing with some heavy work in the garden.

Have a good day all 🦩🦩🦩

Just checking in after doing the supermarket shop. What a wonderful weekend, Dustyangel, sounds idyllic. Hoping all has gone smoothly for Mick, that Gingster and family find some relief and that everyone has a good day.

Good morning from a sunny Algarve, we’ve had beautiful weather over the weekend and it’s set to be the same for the next week at least.

DH snd I survived and enjoyed all our festivities. The Friday night meal was wonderful, both food and company. Just as we were about to leave for the restaurant our daughters produced sashes and badges, “ You’ve only got to wear them to the restaurant Mum!” which produced much laughter and enjoyment and the evening carried on in the same way with singing and even dancing as the only other remaining table of Portuguese locals turned out to be celebrating one gentleman’s 47th birthday and an accordion was brought out. We had a cake with sparklers on it presented by the restaurant owners.

The atmosphere carried on over the rest of the weekend and our open house on Saturday afternoon was delightful. The weather undoubtedly helped as people were able to relax and take as many photos as they wanted outside in the sun only leaving as it started to cool down and then all the ladies staying in the hotel next to Friday’s restaurant went out together. I decided to stay home with the men and have Pizza instead although my 86year old sister in law managed with her wheelie walker to join them. And then on Sunday everyone except three who had earlier flights did it again.

I feel honoured that so many came and it was lovely for us to catch up with everyone but even better to see so many of the cousins connecting as well.

Thank you to all of you from this thread who sent birthday wishes and happy vibes.

Most of our visitors are safely home now. Our daughters have returned to work but we still have our son in law and granddaughter until Friday, though she met her boyfriend’s flight yesterday and is staying in Vilamoura with him they will be round often. sunshine

GG, in the past when in hospital, Mick didn't post. I don't think he takes any devices with him.
On a previous occasion, there was no contact from him for over a week and we became increasingly concerned.
It turned out he was in hospital.

Hopefully, his op was successful.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 21-Mar-23 09:58:57

Just popped in to see if there was any news from Mick

Gingster sorry you are poorly, perhaps it’s your body telling you to rest 🌸🌸🌸

hulahoop Tue 21-Mar-23 09:28:44

Urmstongran Tue 21-Mar-23 08:42:13

Me, glamorous? Audrey Hepburn-like?
I wish!
I just scrub up well.
😁

harrigran Tue 21-Mar-23 08:37:21

Good morning from the NE where it is 11 degrees and there has been overnight rain.
DS is coming to take me shopping this morning but I have had a bad night with my painful shoulder.
Did absolutely nothing yesterday except take a call from my financial advisor who will visit in April, the last year has flown over.
Have the best day you can.

EkwaNimitee Tue 21-Mar-23 08:35:32

Good morning everyone from bright Carlisle where it is due to be another showery day.
Best wishes to you Mick if you are reading. Home soon I hope.
Yesterday, since I'd renewed my contract, the BT engineer came to check my setup. All was fine, speeds as promised. This house came with full fibre into it, definitely a plus.
After lunch, the developer's plumber arrived. The wash basin had to be removed and he replaced all the piping so no contamination from all the bugs down there is left...hopefully. In decades of sink cleaning, I've never had a problem with this black bio slime before. The plumber was bemused also.
Today I shall plod on with some housework, get some admin done then hope to dodge the showers and get planting in the garden.

I hope your DD is on the mend Gingster.

And a good day to everyone!

ginny Tue 21-Mar-23 08:31:28

Good morning. The sun seems to be trying hard to move the clouds, hope it manages, if only for a while.
We have smallest DGS for an hour or so this morning.
Afterwards we are taking a trip to an art and interiors shop that I have be wanting to explore for a while. Maybe some lunch out.
Hope today is kind to all.

Alygran Tue 21-Mar-23 08:29:13

Good morning from North Yorkshire. I’m home again after a lovely weekend with the DDs.
The journey back took almost 3 hours, it’s usually less than 2. I had a charity coffee and craft morning in Richmond and only just made it!
Today it’s washing and housework.
Love the photos Bluesapphire. I may need to add SAfrica to my list!
Gingster I hope there is some improvement for your DD soon.
Have a good day everyone.

hollysteers Tue 21-Mar-23 08:27:26

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
Disappointing meal yesterday with old friend. Only a local pub, but my beef stroganoff was tough and his pork loin likewise. Struck that off our dining list. Service poor too. Lots of chat however. How we managed talking from 1 to 5 I’m not sure…

Off to music club this afternoon to sing with flower in my hair so will have a preparatory warble this morning.

LLFL I used to read a lot of Barbara Pym, loved her and recommend her to friends.

Hope Mick’s op has gone well and thinking of Gingster and her DD 🌹

baubles Tue 21-Mar-23 08:22:26

Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire. More rain forecast.

Glorious photos Blue.

Thinking of all the poorly people including Mick, Ginster’s DD, and Sar’s DB.

I was supposed to be meeting a young friend for coffee today but her father, who is younger than I, is suddenly quite ill in hospital. A shock for them all.

I’ll need to think about doing for the rest of the week and do a supermarket sweep. In my dreams I’d have a full time chef so I’d never have to think of what to eat again.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Taichinan Tue 21-Mar-23 08:19:25

Good morning all and oh dear I lost my post just as I was finishing it! Luckily I have time in hand to do it again. Thanks for opening grandmattie, and best wishes for a speedy recovery from your op Mick.
Lovely pics from SA, Bluesapphire - what a wonderful holiday you're having.
Brook enjoy the final day of yours, and safe trip home tomorrow.
I have Glencoe envy momb - one of my favourite places. It's so majestic and atmospheric, and the air so pure to breathe.
Tai chi morning again for me which should put a spring back into my step! Yesterday I felt as if I was wading through treacle and it was past lunchtime before I began to function properly - don't know what that was about!
Thoughts with all the poorlies and hope today is a better day for you. And particular thoughts with gingster and her daughter. Sar I hope you have better news of your brother today.
Now off I must pop. Have the best day you can everybody x

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 21-Mar-23 08:14:47

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Hope Mick is feeling the benefit of his op. And your DDis feeling better too Gingster.
Yesterday we had VirginMedia come to the house, who found we don’t have the full strength wifi we should have, (I’ve been telling them that for years). Wonder if we can pay them for the 2 bars we get instead of the 3 we should get?
Going to the art club this morning- don’t know what’s been planned so not sure if I’m taking the right tools!
Have the best day possible folks

Liberty Tue 21-Mar-23 08:14:34

Good morning from another grey dreary day in Suffolk. On my train journey to meet my friend yesterday the fields along quite a long way were flooded. Some looked like lakes. I didn’t realise we’d had so much rain.

I hope all those with worries find some comfort today.

I’m meeting a dear friend for lunch in a pub in our local market town. It is always very popular and we book a table in the very cosy, cheerful bar. It’s good to see the pub flourishing when several other local businesses including a deli and cafe have closed in the last couple of months.

Susan56 Tue 21-Mar-23 08:12:03

Good morning from Shropshire. We have had rain overnight but looks to be clearing up now.

I hope Mick’s operation went well and that he is on the road to recovery.

I am meeting a friend for lunch today which I am really looking forward to.I am hoping DH will have a relaxing day as we have a busy couple of weeks ahead.

Gingster I hope you feel better soon and that your daughter starts to feel better too💐

The photos are lovely.I too have trip envy Marydoll!

Thoughts to all who are unwell and with family worries.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Wyllow3 Tue 21-Mar-23 08:11:56

Morning all from a gloomy S Yorks even tho its the “spring” equinox.

I found out yesterday that my large lump on arm (aka the alien) has to have an MRI and then removal whatever is found. time scale uncertain but the sooner the better for me as it is slowly growing and won’t be a neat outcome whichever way.

Pone call and zoom on medical matters this morning so it’s no gym.

Take care of yourself GMattie!

Troubling till he finds out, Sar

Good to hear of the support gingster

Lovely pic, BlueSapphire

and good potting, Greyduster.

have the best days you can GN's.

Greyduster Tue 21-Mar-23 08:09:59

Good morning all GNs and Michael in absentia - hope things are going well, Mick and you’re comfortable. Weather a bit mixed in South Yorkshire but I think it’s trying to brighten. Yesterday I went to the garden centre to get some seed compost, so that will be my job for the day. Dahlias, cosmos, zinnias and nasturtiums. Possibly some French beans in pots. They were quite prolific last year.
If the weather holds I might have a run over to the country park for a walk.
Sar I hope they get to the bottom of your brothers problem soon.
Blue fabulous photos!
Enjoy your day out Corner.
Have the best day you can folks.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 21-Mar-23 08:08:55
