Over Posie Parker (as was. Kelly forgot the rest of her name)
On her NZ tour.

I dont do links, but it's probably easy to find.

The person who threw it followed up with a quick speech, saying something like she wished it was blood, or next time it should be blood. I couldnt really hear clearly.

Why such vitriol and violence?

(If there is another thread about this, apologies.)

What a marvellous statement!

If your views were acceptable and reasonable you would have no need to twist the truth.

That’s exactly how I feel about your posts. If your views were acceptable and reasonable you would have no need to twist the truth.

I always post evidence Mollygo the fact that you don't like that is your problem.
The videos posted trying to show the 70 year old woman was attacked out of the blue. The inaccuracies about the police presence at the rally and some of the emotive language like "a woman stormed the stage" is really how truth is twisted.
I don't do it
But I understand some people fall for it.

Callistemon21 Fri 31-Mar-23 22:10:59

Stop twisting posts Glorianny.
No-one is saying that.

But small children are being introduced to subjects which they have no reason to know about, do not understand and which worry them.

Top and bottom surgery? 😂
That sounds like explaining something to a 2 year old!!

Glorianny Fri 31-Mar-23 22:06:09

Age in Australia is 16 for top surgery and 18 for bottom surgery.

Hate speech is illegal. Freedom of speech does not include the right to abuse specific groups of people.

Who on earth is indoctrinating young children. That's a complete slur. Equivalent to the Trans people are paedos. Just a more intellectualised way of saying it.

What most posters seem to be objecting to is violence at rallies, suppression of free speech and the subtle indoctrination of young children by trans activists.

No-one objects to anyone living their lives as they wish to.

Agree

The minimum age for gender reassignment surgery in the UK is 18. Perhaps finding out what the law is would help alleviate some people's fears

But they weren't in the UK! Surgery may not generally be available under the age of 18 in Australia but hormone treatment/puberty blockers are available for young children.

I don't think it is just about surgery but puberty blockers too. I don;t think medically or psychologically we know enough about the long term actions of the tavistock clinic but what we know now should be enough ethically to address caution

The age of consent for marriage is changing to 18, the age when you can vote, join the Forces is 16 (with parental consent), you cannot drink alcohol in a pub until 18, gender reassignment/puberty blockers can be offered before the age of 18.

We really need to clarify what the age of consent is and decide who is a child and when they become an adult, able to decide for themselves on important issues.

Anyway you are behind the times, apparently it's now comparable to the ideology of Stalin.

Galaxy Fri 31-Mar-23 20:32:22

Oh crikey it's not difficult at all gloriamny. I ignore anyone who says my views are similar to Nazi beliefs. As do most people.

Glorianny the only criminal assault in NZ were committed by Trans activists.

But Eli who poured the tomato juice has had death threats and has escaped to Australia for safety.
She describes how the security men assaulted her.
Police and security men prevented a woman reaching the stage and speaking by dragging her to the ground. There is evidence of that.
And yet you claim you want women to be able to speak.

volver3 Fri 31-Mar-23 20:25:21

Do you have some sort of compulsion to make jokes about NAZIs Callistemon? That's odd. Worryingly odd.....

^There is evidence that the Nazis tortured and killed LGBTQ people^

What - recently? 😲

Callistemon21 if you had read the information I posted about what happened under the Nazis you would know that the section of the German penal code 175 making homosexuality illegal was altered by the Nazis to carry a sentence of 10 years hard labour. And
Section 175 was finally dropped from the penal code in East Germany in 1968. In West Germany, it reverted to the pre-Nazi era version in 1969 and was only fully repealed in 1994.

LGBTQ people were treated by the Nazis just like the Jews. I can't imagine you posting anything similar about them.
But I realise it is difficult to find your views have similarities with Nazi beliefs.

Oh dear, Glorianny, you just don't get irony do you!

As for twisting, I learn from the experts on Gransnet 😁

I’ve been away for a couple of days and not following the news, so I’m completely baffled by this thread. Is someone who’s said to be a Nazi complaining about children being referred for gender reassignment surgery? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

It's about a Brtish woman (I think) who has gone to Australia and New Zealand to protest about trans-activism.

Trans activists have been active in protesting at her protests, one poured juice over her, another fractured an elderly woman's skull in New Zealand.
In Australia, a senator who tried to storm the protest got restrained and knocked to the ground by police.

Some posters vehemently support the trans activists, others think violence is never the answer.

Some think that children should not be offered gender re-assignment surgery until they are 18 but they are now called Nazis.

Any reports in The Guardian are nonsense.

There could be more, it is all rather fraught both there and on here.

Do we have any evidence that the woman's skull was fractured?

There is evidence that she was punched but it was not necessarily an unprovoked attack.

There was violence on both sides

One of the meetings in Australia was attended by supporters who gave the Nazi salute
There is evidence that the Nazis tortured and killed LGBTQ people.

Your biased judgemental summing up is why I find the views of those claiming they are really only speaking up for women difficult to take.
If your views were acceptable and reasonable you would have no need to twist the truth.

Gosh, it sounds fraught indeed. Thank you Callistemon for the explanation. How quickly the world moves on when you’re not looking.

I don’t think children should be offered gender reassignment surgery before they’re eighteen. Does that make me a Nazi? I don’t think so myself. I have four grandchildren and if any of them showed signs of being transgender I hope that as a family we would address it in a sympathetic manner. It wouldn’t be my decision about surgery of course, but I really do feel eighteen is young enough for such life changing surgery. People have been known to change their minds, I’ve seen them interviewed.
