Emergency alert 23rd April

The alarm will only sound if your phone is a 4G or 5G smartphone. If it is turned off or not connected it will not sound.

I have been told off by one of my AC as I have turned off this feature on my new phone.

Your mobile phone or tablet does not have to be connected to mobile data or wifi to get alerts.

Thank you volver. I searched but couldn't find this information, which is very clear. We have PAYG phones, which are always on to receive calls and texts, but we rarely connect to 4G when we are out and about. We use the Internet when we are at home. So we will get this alert.

It’s going to be at 3pm on the 23rd apparently.

We will just be starting a charity concert. Maybe we should wait 15minutes while the chaos calms down.

Can’t really see the point I bet in the future if there’s a emergency you ll hear about it on fb before the alarm goes off 😂😂😂

If you go on settings then notifications - scroll right down to the bottom and you will see ‘extreme alerts’ and ‘severe alerts’ You can turn them on or off. That’s the info from Gov.Uk according to my DH
