I am far more forgiving now that I have been the victim of auto correct many times .

Presumably the MN poster had no idea how to spell the word so just typed it the way it sounded. I find a dictionary is useful on such occasions.

It made me laugh, I am known for my spelling mistakes and typos.
When one GD was tiny, in an email I told a friend she had gone to bed in her new" Willies". My friend sent it back for me to see. I didn't mind she was brilliant when we were students and proofread all my essays.
I pity the poor woman who did have the anal fissure, how painful that must be especially with a leprechaun and his rod in situ.

My DD sent me a text telling me my GS was in his pyjamas enjoying a hot chic.
GS has a hot choc most nights.
How a few incorrect letters can change the whole meaning.

Autocorrect has a lot to answer for! I once messaged someone to say sorry she was poorly, but it came out as sorry she was porky!!

We can all make a spelling mistake,but i really do hate it when someone points it out.
If you know what they meant why comment.

My daughter is dyslexic ,took us years to have her diagnosed .
She can spell one word 6 different ways in two sentences .We just accept it but we have a"friend" who always points it out and tells her to use spellcheck before posting ,THAT offends me more than the dyslexia
I would never remark on anyones spelling. Its the height of ignorance .

It takes the vowel sounds and by grouping words that way helps you find the correct spelling.

There are newer versions and it seems an "advanced" version.

Ours was published in 1990 or 1991.

We had our own Mrs. Malaprop as a neighbour for years. A sweet, pleasant-natured lady, who frequently had us biting the inside of our cheeks in order to avoid offending her by laughing out loud. A couple of the more memorable : "I was terrified by a massive dog barking at me today, fortunately on a lead. It was one of those Bull Mastoids.." " He did it for no pacific reason".
