Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight here in brackley , but dry and chilly outside .
Yesterdays trip to Bicester went OK regardless of the slight cold chill in the air , I did manage to pace myself walking and never felt breathless a good sign for me .
Today , I will watch cycling the best part of the day on TV .
Lunch wise Leg of Lamb steaks with Jersey Royals and peas.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning and Happy Easter from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.

Lovely to see you Bellasnana and happy birthday to the twins.

We have no plans today but had a really good day yesterday with DD and family along with my cousin who is here for a brief visit. It was a perfect spring day and the scenery was glorious.

The weather looks promising again so a walk is probably on the cards.

Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, bodes well for the rest of the day.

First of all apologies for feeling sorry for myself yesterday, but the prospect of Easter alone had really got me down. I would never dream of saying anything to the DC, so was using this thread to vent my disappointment.

However, a silver lining - DD Whatsapped me yesterday morning to say she is coming over this morning and we will visit some.beautiful gardens nearby and have something to eat out! We are visiting Coton Manor Gardens, a Tudor manor house with the most wonderful gardens - DH and I used to love going there and used to have season tickets.

I had a good day out in Milton Keynes yesterday, successfully returned my items to M&S, and ended up buying shorts for my next holiday. Also got a lovely top in John Lewis, and splashed out on a Chanel lipstick. Nearly bought a long dress for cruise.formal nights, but didn't have my size. I think I will wait and see if my size comes up in the summer sale. Lunch was had, with wine, in Ask,.so didn't need to cook much last night.

Lovely to see Bellasnana posting again, and with such good.news.

Have a joyful Easter everyone.

Good morning Mick and All.

Easter greetings 🌄✝️ What a beautiful picture Ashcombe.

So pleased to see you back Bellasnana. Hasn’t the year passed quickly since the twins were born?

What a lovely time you had with Dollie Mary. I have rather indulged my two grandsons whilst they have been with us for 5 days, but as I told my DS it is a Nan/Gran prerogative! I asked the youngest what was the best part of the holiday and he said ‘Being with you and grandad’ that made my heart sing.

Good morning from a hazy Essex by the sea. I do believe the sun is trying to shine.
A Happy Easter to you all.
Thinking of you today GG13 x
Thank you for all your concerns about my being unwell and for the PM's I have received.
I do feel a little better but this is the start of the second week and I really would like it all to go away !!!!!
A quick visit to drop off Easter Eggs to DH's grandchildren and then another day of doing very little.
Enjoy the day whatever you may be doing xxx

Your day sounds lovely karmalady. I too enjoy my solitude these days.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a slightly misty, grey South Yorkshire. The weather was glorious yesterday when we walked along the Monsal Trail and then stood on the famous viaduct and looked at the lovely view of the River Wye running through the dale. I would have dearly loved to have a walk along the river, but discretion has to be the better part of valour for now. We had ice cream at a cafe on the way back and I never thought I would stand arguing with my grandson about who was going to pay! The battle of the debit cards! He won!! I walked five miles, had dinner with DD and the boys and then drove home, and fell asleep on the sofa! Today I don’t have much to do except some prep for DS and DiL coming down tomorrow.
Enjoy Easter Sunday everyone.

Happy Easter from what looks like being a lovely sunny day in Suffolk. Church this morning in our nearest little town as our local one is without a priest at the moment and no services there today.

A quiet day as DS and his ‘tribe’ coming for lunch tomorrow. We’ll have calls with DDs and their families later. Hope to enjoy time in the garden later. Hope today is one of pleasure and fewer worries for all.

Good morning and Happy Easter from a sunny and mild-feeling south Perthshire.
Lovely to see you again Bellasnanna and to know the little twins are thriving. And what an amazing surprise for you from your DD! I well remember my DD giving me a surprise like that many years ago - I momentarily didn't recognise her as she stood at the front door smiling! My first thought was "Oh what a beautiful girl!" Thanks for the memory.
What a lot of family visits and reunions there are today - you must be beside yourself with excitement Ladyleftfield!
Our tai chi on the beach yesterday was well attended - 18 hardy souls turned up in spite of the fact that we were the coldest place in Britain. There were some wild swimmers near us and when they came out of the water it was a toss up as to which group was the colder! But come rain or shine (and yes, there was a faint smirr in the biting wind!) there is such a freedom and joy performing our gentle exercise to the sound of the sea. (There is an added joy to coffee and tea and toasted tea cakes in the Beach Pavilion afterwards!)
DGD's dance was lovely yesterday evening, a piece she choreographed herself and performed beautifully. It's 14 years since she first trod those same boards with her first dance teacher - what a difference those years have seen! Watching all those little children performing their little hearts out last night brought back so many memories. Just lovely!
Today it's brunch round the corner at the village cafe with the girls and then I shall drive back to the coast and let them all 'do their thing' unencumbered by an ancient grandmother!
Enjoy your families everyone and may the sunshine ease any heartaches x

Good morning all from a dull but dry North Yorkshire. Funny you should say that Still, I was just thinking about Urms, she is much missed.
More gardening for me today, DH is off to have dinner with his family, I’m having roast lamb on my own which is perfectly fine, I enjoy my alone time. DGD and twins may pop round or may not, either is fine. Hope everyone gets the day they would like today.

harrigran Sun 09-Apr-23 08:07:48

Good morning from a misty NE where it is 5 degrees.
Happy Easter.
Lovely to see you posting again Bellasnana and happy birthday to your DGSs.
DD and SIL are visiting this afternoon and we will have dinner together.
DS and family are enjoying the better weather down south and are able to go walking.
Have a pleasant day.

Good morning from sunny s somerset and a lovely day ahead

Yesterday was happily and nicely busy, compost bin emptying and two small beds are now ready to grow hungry veg. A very big (for me) beautiful shin stew made and this time cooked in the oven on a low heat. The taste was so much better than my pressure or slow cookers and smart meter did not shock me wrt cost as it was fairly low cost. 8 ready meals made and now frozen. I enjoyed the whole cooking process

A large basket is slowly being filled to take to wales tomorrow but today I will be knitting, reading and sitting outside. A quiet day but I relish the peace after a lifetime of being in noisy busy surroundings

Happy Easter all from a sunny Glasgow.

Bellasanna, what a lovely surprise to see you posting again. An unforgettable Easter for you.

A very quiet day ahead for us. We spent much of yesterday at DS1's. Dollie saw me as her best pal, she and I played putting, basketball, ball games went to the swing park and I was treated to a display on the trampoline. She forgets I am a geriatric. Well that was how I was described in hospital. 😆
On top of that, she never stopped talking! I was exhausted, but like Bella, my heart was full.

I got home from the Easter Vigil at 10.30pm, after a busy and at times somewhat stressful evening. We had three sacristans working and I still had to conscript DH to help.
A number of people were being received into the church, so lots to do.We had all the ceremony, with the Easter fire outside and the congregation processing into the dark church in silence, with lit candles. It was very uplifting.
A couple of months ago, I couldn't have managed this!

We are having turkey with all the trimmings, which we will be eating all week and Scicilian lemon tart. I'm looking forward to it.

Borrheid, I am delighted you got to see your mum. Its a pity that your visit was so short, we could have met up and reminisced about old times. Safe journey home!

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning from Durham. It’s dull, dank and cold here. Birds fed and I’m relaxing before I start lunch - DD2 and her family are coming. No doubt, I’ll be spending tomorrow tidying up after toddler H goes!
My very best wishes to all, especially those who are sad being alone today. X

Stilllearning Sun 09-Apr-23 07:57:52

Good morning from Dunoon where I am spending the weekend, lovely weather yesterday so 🤞for today.

This a short message because I have forgotten my iPad so can only use my phone to post. I’m afraid this is drawing my attention to how much my close vision is deteriorating so I’ll be brief.

Just want to wish everyone Happy Easter and peace of mind to all.

Especially thinking of those of us with difficulties today and sending special good wishes to Urmstongran if you’re reading, I hope you are okay.

I hope we all have a pleasant day 💖

Happy Easter and another Good Morning from Hull.

I’m up earlier than usual to get a Turkey in the oven for lunch.

Sadly our offspring are all doing their own thing this year, one is wild camping in Norway, one in Dublin with his lovely wife and in laws and the other doing an eater egg hunt and buffet for a big crowd of friends and their children.

We have got some old friends coming for a feast.
I don’t feel too deserving of it as I didn’t observe Lent but I will give it my best shot!

Pittcity Sun 09-Apr-23 07:44:00

Happy Easter from an overcast but mild Colchester.
A quiet restful day here between 2 busy weeks. Roast chicken tonight and no chocolate in the house!
Love to all 🦩🐣🐰✝️

GrannySomerset Sun 09-Apr-23 07:39:29

We finished the children’s corner in church in time for Easter and it looks so welcoming - a great team effort. Then visited a local carpet emporium to take a silk rug for repair and have a nosy. DD and DSiL bought a beautiful Kashmiri rug for the sitting room and DGD1 chose a smaller one as her 21st birthday present. It will stay here with me until nearer the time and will be a life long pleasure which she will take into her independent adult life when she gets there. Her choice, and an unusual one, but really lovely. DSiL hung a couple of pictures for me too, so a very satisfactory day.

Easter greetings to all our readers and I hope everything goes to plan and the sun will shine, at least for some of the day.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° with blue skies. There's a slight mist too which will burn away I'm sure. Happy Easter Sunday to you all. Bellasnanna how lovely to see you posting. There are lots of get-togethers planned for today on the thread. I'm going to DD with her in-laws and my aunt and uncle. It'll be lovely. I'm being picked up which means I can have a glass or two of wine. I'm looking forward to it very much. Have a good day all

Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset.

Excellent day yesterday, traffic was light in our direction of travel (away from coasts), our son treated us to breakfast. The surplus to requirements garden table joined garden chairs, also from here, and looked good in its new home. We spent a couple of hours helping weed raised beds, had a good chat and an easy trip back home.

A much quieter day ahead. Some garden pottering. Our meal will be turkey followed by chocolate cheesecake with raspberries.

How good to see you bellasnanna, I’m delighted the twins are thriving.

Take care everyone.

I’d be stalking her flight path Ladyleftfieldlover 🤣
