Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s raining today.
Well the day didn’t come out quite as promised weatherwise yesterday which was good as I could spread the Easter eggs around the whole garden not just the north side as it was quite cool.

The grandchildren loved collecting them getting squeals from GD1 ever time she found one. GS fails to see the fun but he did collect them and as he doesn’t eat chocolate they were given to DH. He would rather nibble the Grape Hyacinths and thank goodness he’s chosen the one flower that is edible. I’ve tried one and believe me they are disgusting 🤷‍♀️
My Easter dinner went down well and there is another two leftover dinners for us tonight. I always cook too much.
We aren’t sure what we will do today so will take the day as it comes.

Kitty the cake is fab what a clever DD. Enjoy looking after your GC.

Have a lovely Easter Sunday. Thoughts to those living under a cloud of sadness🌻🌻

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish Carlisle where it's obviously had a shower or two during the night. There may well be more but I am staying in having rather over exerted myself in the garden the last two days.
Yesterday, I was down on my knees on my little front lawn with a hand rake removing annoying patches of moss and loosening up bare patches ready for some re-seeding with a more robust grass mix. I will be glad of some rain after that, we often get dry weather in late April and all May. I don't want to be out several times a day watering the seeds.
I'll change the bed and load the washing machine but, since it's supposed to be a holiday, I shall otherwise relax and read my book and finish off the papers.

I hope none of your activities are spoilt by wet weather and everyone is up to enjoying the day.

Good morning from a very wet and blustery Oxfordshire, it has rained all night and shows no sign of stopping.
MissOops came over yesterday but didn’t stay, nephew is really getting her down, as her only option is to tell him to leave, I can’t offer any help or advice, except to look after her dog so that there is one thing less for him to nag and complain about, maybe we should baby sit him instead and give her a much needed break?
Anyway, some things just can’t be sorted.

Have a good day everyone and stay dry and warm.

☀️After a glorious and sunny Easter Sunday, I imagine over most if not all of the country, the rain is back. Ah well. ☔️☔️☔️
My trip to London went smoothly enough - very busy at St Pancras, why do so many people seem unable to control their wheelie suitcases? The 4 wheeled sort are fine as they tend to roll along beside their owner, but the 2 wheeled sort, pulled along behind at an angle by an oblivious owner really get me (usually on the ankle or the shin) Plus they take up as much space as towing a caravan does in proportion to a car.
We had a lovely lunch in the garden and it was nice to be with some of the family. WhatsApp video messages from Somerset, Japan and Suffolk reminded me of how I do miss them, but big girl pants on and all that.
No plans for today - stuck in the village because of the absence of a car, perhaps I’ll sort some of the summer clothes that came down from the loft last week, I’ve been washing and folding jumpers ready for their trip “upstairs”. But then again I might just hold fire- in case the temperature drops again.
Wishing you all a pleasant day, and safe travels if you are out and about

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp, grey South Yorkshire. Did some more gardening yesterday but before I could I spent three quarters of an hour looking for the key to the shed. Just as I was going to lever the lock off the door, I remembered where it was! DS and DiL are coming down today for lunch and it doesn’t look as if we will get a walk, but never mind, it will just be lovely to see them. DD and her menfolk can’t make it today, sadly, so there will be three of us eating a whole leg of lamb. I’ll cut a couple of steaks off the fillet end to put in the freezer before I roast it.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from a soggy Suffolk seaside.
We arrived early yesterday and it was warm but with a sea mist rolling in. The sun eventually broken through mid afternoon.

We cleared a lot of the garden but the sit-upon mower wouldn’t start. Needs a new battery, we think. So Dh cleared the weeds from the steps leading down to the beach. Overgrown and tricky. I cut down the large wind damaged formia and cleared weeds from tubs. The rabbits keep the grass down while we aren’t here.

Sat in the summerhouse and read, listening to classic fm and the sound of the sea. Bliss! Lovely to be back.🌊.

Today we will shop and cook . DS1 and family coming tomorrow for a couple of days, so bed making and cleaning to be done.

What a busy time you’re having GM . Take some quiet moments to yourself. 🧘.

Take care and enjoy the day.

Morning all from a sodden North Leicestershire.

Bit sad about the weather as we have Bertie, Persie and Wolfie while their parents go to a wedding. DD3 has made the cake!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning everyone from the east coast of Fife where it’s been raining throughout the night. Luckily I managed to drop off again and I’m only just awake. I had a good time at church yesterday meeting everyone whom I’ve not seen in a while. I’ve a kind friend who takes me to church whenever I want to go, she just throws my wheelchair in the boot of her car

Have a good day my friends flowers

Good morning from a wet but mild Colchester. The heating hasn't clicked on this morning for the first time on ages as the temperature didn't dip overnight.
We have a family afternoon at DD2s for DGS2s birthday. She's just sent me a shopping list as she forgot that the supermarket would be closed yesterday.
Love to all 🦩 x

brook2704 Mon 10-Apr-23 07:25:22

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey and wet start with showers forecast for most of the day
Sounds like another busy day gMattie I really admire your energy levels!
Youngest stepson, his wife and 8 year old son all arrived safely yesterday, then DD2 and family all came round so it was a house full again. We all played a couple of board games, it was a fun evening albeit a bit hectic! More of the same this evening
Today even though it’s raining they’re all going for a walk along the Ness Islands, I’ll be busy topping up the food and drink cupboards.
Enjoy your family get together whitewavemark your cooking sounds yummy and much more organised than mine - we’re having homemade chicken pie, veg and cake / ice cream for dessert!
Hope your vertigo eases marydoll and take care today
Safe journey karmalady and everyone else on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a wet Torbay.

We had a large congregation for the one service of Mass held yesterday. Our repaired organ was back in use and used to go from sublime Easter hymns to ridiculous light songs as our jolly Vicar handed out eggs to us all at the end! He’d requested the organist play something appropriate! The congregation loved it and sang along as we were treated to Run, Rabbit, 🐇Chick, Chick, Chick, Chick, Chicken 🐣 and Easter Bonnet 👒!

It stayed fine as I walked to the pub with my family for lunch but the wind wasn’t helpful and, by nightfall, it was raining. Service was excellent considering it was very busy. I enjoyed seeing them and we played a few games at my flat before they left.

It’s good to read of your various happenings. Enjoy whatever the day brings. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

BlueBalou Mon 10-Apr-23 07:19:19

Good morning everyone, it’s very wet here in Wiltshire this morning.
Yesterday I did a bit of gardening but the wind was bitterly cold and the sun barely made an appearance.
We enjoyed our roast lamb lunch, there’s plenty left for today and tomorrow!
Nothing planned today except getting my bits together for a couple of days watercolour painting, looking forward to that.
I hope you all have a good week, hugs to those who are feeling a bit discombobulated x

GrannyGravy13 Mon 10-Apr-23 07:17:22

Morning all

It’s grey outside with a forecast of rain.

No plans today, we had a lovely day yesterday after all. Popped into DS4 and sat in his garden the two little ones were full of the antics of the Easter Bunny. Followed by a scrummy late lunch with DD.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire. What an unwelcome change in the weather.

I’m working today and all week covering for annual leave. The pain in my back has eased greatly and is just a bit niggly now for which I’m very grateful.

Vertigo is awful MD, I’m sorry that you’re having so many attacks.

Thinking of those who are struggling with illness or worries. Wishing everyone the best possible day.

Grandmabatty Mon 10-Apr-23 07:01:12

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and wet. Dark clouds mean more to come. Whitewave that is a feast! Enjoy. Marydoll I hope the vertigo disappears pronto. I revisit my Swedish Death Clean every spring. I find it therapeutic. Karmalady safe journey to Wales.
Yesterday we had a lovely time at dd's who put on a lovely meal. Dgs1 was so happy to have his family around him. Dgs2 came for cuddles too.
Today I have no plans. I'm up early because I forgot to put the usual Monday alarm off. 🙄 I will potter about and continue with a cross stitch. My aunt is calling in with papers she meant to give me yesterday but she's unlikely to stay long. Chicken and gammon salad for dinner. Have a good day all.

cornergran Mon 10-Apr-23 06:53:06

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks soggy, we’re forecast sunshine later accompanied by very strong winds.

A bit of garden pottering and a lot of sitting and eating sums up yesterday. Must concentrate today. Ironing for me, Mr C will change the bed and the washing machine will be busy. I must remember to finish the grocery order. Hope to wander out this afternoon

A busy day ahead for you grandmattie. Don’t overdo things marydoll, I’ve run out of steam with my clearing out, must get back to it gently. Safe trip karmalady, suspect it will be a busy traffic day.

Take care everyone. Go gently.

Good morning from the South Downs - haven’t looked out yet, but a wet day is forecast.

Dinner for 10 today so busy but youngest GS phoned yesterday afternoon to say that he would be over early with girl friend ( who I haven’t met) to help getting the table ready and chairs etc.

I shall have an easy day otherwise to conserve my energy for the big arrival.

Pea and courgette soup with little cheesy scones, Roast lamb, roast potatoes, broccoli, rainbow carrots, green beans, mint sauce and gravy - then sticky toffee pudding and custard or ice cream for their meal. I made the soup, scones and puddings yesterday, so today is relatively easy.

Have a good one peeps, vertigo and moving preparations allowing🙂

karmalady Mon 10-Apr-23 06:26:42

Good morning, s somerset will be showery and I woke up too early, so I have been up too long and have indulged in some online shopping for merino fibre tops, for spinning. grin

Off to wales in 90 minutes, family day and my car needs a good run. Now where did I put my grey lens overspecs? I am expecting difficult driving with sun and showers and glare

Have a good day

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 10-Apr-23 06:21:21

Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire. Of course I’m still in bed! Elder son and his family went back to Kew yesterday afternoon. My sister and niece arrive today. I will pick them up in Oxford. It will be good to see them as we haven’t met since another niece’s wedding in Sydney back in December 2019. This niece might be getting married in France this autumn! My other niece is getting married in Sidney in August! I will be going on my own as OH really isn’t up to long haul flights. Back to now and it will be so good to see my sister again and next week my brother and his partner will be arriving. This is all in aid of my forthcoming 70th but of course they will also be catching up with other friends and relatives. GM, I hope things will continue to go smoothly. MD your vertigo attacks sound a pain. I’ve only had them once or twice and just had to stay in bed. Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Mon 10-Apr-23 06:07:20

Good morning all from a dark Glasgow, where it is 8°C, with showers forecast.

Its been a long time since I was an early bird on this thread.
A prolonged vertigo attack during the night has left me wide awake, since the early hours.

I think a quiet day is in order, although if I feel better, I hope to continue with my Swedish death clean. I am trying to be ruthless! 😉

Borrheid, I hope you have arrived home safely and had a lovely time with mum.

Enjoy your Easter Monday, whatever your plans.

grandMattie Mon 10-Apr-23 06:07:14

Good morning from a dry, birdsong-filled E Kent. It’s overcast, but I don’t think it’ll rain.
After a very quiet start yesterday, my dog walking friend filled his car with my rubbish for the dump. He also will take what feels like 6m old plant pots for his own use!
Then I had a lovely long conversation with DS. He’s planning on coming back on 24 May and house sitting for DD.
Finally, I had a charming family meal with same dog walkers, who gave me a lovely pair of earrings as farewell.
DD arrived at her AirB&B in the late evening so I’ll see her today.
I’ve got T’ai Chi friends coming over this morning, DD and family to lunch, and the whole family including DGSand his mum for a pizza on the Quay for dinner. Busy day ahead.
Ihope the poorly improve, the unhappy find some joy, the contented stay the same…. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩
