Half the world is male yet they are responsible for almost all of the wars, crime and cruelty.
I think it’s time we phased them out, keeping just a few as sperm donors. An all-female world will be peaceful (mostly) and will concentrate on the important things, not power and aggression.
It’s no use saying, ‘My darling little boy’s not like that’, remember every world leader was some mother’s darling.

I've never heard a man tell a woman that her opinion is of no interest.

Have you never been in a meeting where your input was discounted? Only to hear very similar points forwarded by a man and discussed with gusto?

No? Lucky you.

So many times, especially when younger. it was like I didn't exist. and when I was a team leader over men, (NACRO) got put down and teased constantly. I couldn't handle it, I left. In the circles I move in now, not.
At the gym I am at I've had a lot of support for my recent divorce from Ex, who was coercively abusive and was also a member but a "charmer" to women unless he lost it. But hostility from one man, who is clearly sure it was my fault, despite evidence.

I’m not taking the bins out…….😂😂

Callistemon yes, very common experience

Kate1949 Wed 12-Apr-23 16:42:04

Gagajo No I haven't. I was a clerk/typist in a world of quite high ranking Civil Servants. No one, male or female, would have been remotely interested in anything I had to say.

Oh yes!!

Put forward a suggestion only to have it discounted, then hear the very same suggestion put forward by a man at a meeting and received with enthusiasm by another man. Then actioned!!

Do I remember a two Ronnies sketch of a world run by women?

AGAA4 Wed 12-Apr-23 16:29:00

No I wouldn't want a world without men. It's just that some of them need retraining. 😀

Do you ever hear people say, 'I blame their fathers'? Rarely.

Yes we often do, because a lot of fathers just bugger off (excuse the expression) and leave the mothers to bring up their children alone, often struggling without much money and support.
How often do you see a news item about a mother struggling to heat the house, feed her children and she is more often than not described as a single mother; we always ask "where is the father in all this?"

It's not just the news - looking around at our DGC's friends, it seems to be so prevalent now.

Kate1949 Wed 12-Apr-23 14:24:05

I blame my father.

Philippa111 Wed 12-Apr-23 14:21:55

Rant coming on!

Mothers get blamed for everything... It's time people, and that includes men, take responsibility for their own behaviours.

Mothers do the best they can from their own experiences of mothering and mothers ,like everyone else, have their own difficulties and faults. No mother wakens in the morning and says, 'I wonder how I can be a bad mother today?'

My own mother was cruel and messed up. I don't blame my mother and I have taken steps to heal the things she got wrong. I can see where my father and society in general didn't support her mental health issues and let her down. Women were mostly deemed hysterical and not taken seriously if they had mental health problems. My generation are the children of that generation of women.

Do you ever hear people say, 'I blame their fathers'? Rarely.

Blaming and belittling mothers is, in my opinion, another way that men (and sadly some women) can put women down and not take responsibility for their own behaviours.

MrsKen33 A world without men, what an awful prospect.
All those bitchy women un diluted.

Agreed. A truly boring thought.

kittylester Wed 12-Apr-23 14:03:33

I'm with kate1949.

MrsKen33 Wed 12-Apr-23 13:59:17

No, no. Mine is a bit worn out now but still quite good in most departments. A world without men, what an awful prospect. All those bitchy women un diluted

Jackiest Wed 12-Apr-23 13:44:48

There are plenty of nasty women around just as there are nasty men. Men have had the power in the past so more opportunity to do wrong but that does not make them worse than women.

Kate1949 Wed 12-Apr-23 12:56:56

That's a shame Blondiescot. I worked in the Civil Service for 40 years. I met many men who thought they were superior but they thought they were superior to everyone not just women. I just used to think 'Think what makes you happy but you are wrong.'

I've never heard a man tell a woman that her opinion is of no interest.

Oh sadly, I have - many a time over my working life, in fact. But I certainly wouldn't tar all men with the same brush.

MayBee70 Wed 12-Apr-23 12:47:49

We’d still have Patels, Bravermans and Truss’s though sad

Kate1949 Wed 12-Apr-23 12:44:50

I think she was rude and ignorant.

Whereas I feel a bit for your nephew re exclusion

for heavens sake - that is exactly what has been happening to women and PoC over centuries at home, at work , in terms of clubs, in terms of educational opportunities - right now in the police and fire services

surely he realises why a woman might say that? that he has experienced what has happened to women and PoC for so long!

Kate1949 Wed 12-Apr-23 12:39:18

Yes indeed pascal and he's such a sweetheart.

Very late April Fool's Joke maybe???

Otherwise a pretty awful thing to say about half of the population and a very blanket statement attributing all of the world's ills to men per se hmm

I agree, can you imagine the outcry if that statement was reversed.
Misandry rules angry

Well we have to agree to disagree then. I do think men get a raw deal. I could easily be a man hater. My father was a monster. However, and I have posted this before, when my lovely nephew joined in a conversation at work he was told by a woman 'As a white, heterosexual male, your opinion is of no interest'.

What a sad place the world would be without tolerance and understanding and appreciation of difference.. I feel for your nephew...what a horribly prejudiced comment
