Happy birthday grandMattie!
Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton. At least it's.dry at the moment, after.yesterday's continual heavy showers and then non-stop rain all evening.
Got to the surgery yesterday ready for my MMR booster, but when I mentioned that I was having my Covid jab on Monday, the nurse said "better not have the booster", as it is a live vaccine and may react with the Covid one. So, another appointment was made.for two weeks time.
Then walked down to M&S Food for coffee and a snack, and my top-up shop. Also picked up my orders, and got home just before the heavens opened again.
Rugby this afternoon, playing Saracens, a must win match if we want to stay in contention for the Premiership play-offs. The match is a sell-out and on tv, so I shall record it. I need to get a beef stew in the slow cooker this morning to come home to.
Welcome to this lovely group Cherrylover.
Lovely to read mostly good news this morning. Hope today goes well for all.
Marydoll my 14 year old DGD was breech and when she was born she looked like a little frog, her legs were so bent. She had x-rays on her hips in case they were displaced but all was well in the end. She is now nearly 6ft tall with lovely long legs.
I hope all is well with Babydoll xx
Morning all, it’s not raining!
Welcome Cherrylover.
Happy Birthday gMattie 🎂🎉🥂
Bowls club today, signing GDPR forms, not playing, the rink is sodden.
Tesco delivery later and grandchildren might call in.
🦩🦩
Morning Mick, morning All. Bright, sunny start to our corner of Somerset.
Decent day yesterday, coffee morning and success sorting a development issue as well as one of our own.
Not sure about the pattern of today, while the sun beckons we’re both weary and have no desire to venture out on busy roads. Maybe a walk along our river.
Wishing you a very happy birthday grandmattie. Welcome to cherrylover. Hope the new family are settling marydoll.
Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.
Marydoll I'm sure Babydoll will be carefully monitored. My dgs1 had a couple of x-rays as a baby because he was breech just to make sure his hips would be ok. Taichinan thank you. I'm looking forward to a quiet day. You're right about the haar though. Once it rolls in, it's anyone's guess when it'll roll back out.
Thank you for asking Gingster and Grandmabatty, the chest infection is not totally gone about 90% but I'm feeling so much better and sleeping ok again. xx
Good morning all! It's a glorious sunny morning on the Angus coast and I'm already basking in the sunshine - albeit wrapped in my oodie and snugly in the garden room. Warm it is not!
I spent yesterday's sunny day hanging out a wash and then pottering around finding new homes for "things", which is as close as I ever get to de-cluttering - just a happy bunny, me. Now my clutter is organised clutter. I also had a visit from one of my tai chi ladies who is a chiropodist. I now feel officially old!
Happy Birthday to both you and your DGS Grandmattie and every good wish for your new life in Bristol - it's certainly starting off with a bang! So glad everything is now falling into place.
Ash and Olddudders enjoy your little holiday - your plans sound lovely.
And I hope your 'day of rest' materialises Grandmabatty, although yesterday's busy day sounded lovely
Welcome to you cherry - We're all looking forward to hearing about your life in Bournemouth.
While I've been writing this I have been distracted by a line of mist, which I thought was the early morning kind which would burn off, on the far side of the Basin. Sadly it's increasing and I'm afraid the haar - the reason why one should never live on the east coast 😬- is rolling menacingly towards us! So I shall sit as long as I can in the sunshine before it is ibliteratedq. Who knows, maybe it won't reach me on my hill 🤞 At least it has made my mind up - I shall take my friend up country for lunch today!
Have the best day you can everybody, and enjoy those baby cuddles Marydoll - I can think of no greater joy!
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Happy Birthday to GM. I hope all is well in Marydoll’s world. After several busy weekends it should be a quiet one. I think sister and niece are visiting our cousin. I still have bits of admin to do and I must organise flowers for elder son’s partner’s birthday on Monday. OH still isn’t well at all. He has a dreadful cough probably caught from a lady on the cruise who wasn’t wearing a mask. He is asthmatic so he seems to suffer more than the rest of us. Anyway, onwards and upwards, as they say. Have a good day.
Welcome to Cherrylover and what a lovely comment about it being a big plus in your life, Wyllow3, echoing the feelings of a few of us, I imagine. 🥰
Good morning everyone from the east coast of Fife where it’s a very bright start to the day but still a tad nippy, we’ll that’s the heating kicked in.
Yesterday I felt a little breathless until I remembered my hayfever must’ve started up again. I’ve only experienced this once in all of my life and that was four yrs ago. I’ve sent for a prescription which my dr prescribed all those yrs ago Amazon is wonderful I’ve also bought the hayfever wet wipes.
Today my daughter is visiting with my two grandsons I’m really looking forward to their visit hugs all around. I’m so blessed with my family.
Have a good day my friends.
Good morning all from a foggy Glasgow, where its it's only 1"C.
A warm welcome to Cherrylover

Baubles Well done!
Yesterday was pretty full on, I couldn't wait to fall into bed last night.
I had a successful raid on Sainsbury's baby dept. I was only supposed to look for bigger size baby grows for Babydoll, to accommodate her long legs and turned ankle, but got rather carried away.
We had already purchased the pram, it's an unusual colour, so I am now on the lookout for a woolly cover to match. If only I could crochet! I can knit complicated patterns, but never mastered crochet!
The good news is that that mum and baby R got home last night, but there will be a few follow ups in the coming weeks to keep an eye on the tummy problem, foot and hips. All caused because she was breech for so long.
When I had my three, you remained in hospital for ten days, after a C section, now patients are sent home the following day.
I had a successful chat with the pharmacist concerning contra indications with my heart meds. One I can continue, but the antibiotics in my Rescue pack need to be changed and given my drug allergy history are not be be used under any circumstances.
A vast improvement from the previous shambolic pharmacy, I used.
Now I need to battle with the GP surgery to speak to a doctor.
Today DH is going to help SIL with slab laying. Dollie is coming to assist supervise, to allow DS1 and DIL to get peace time to get some things done.
We are all intending to wear ear defenders! She never stops talking!
I will then leave early to open up for the Vigil Mass tonight, we have a lot of preparation for the cemetery Mass tomorrow, where there is always a large congregation of hundreds.
For all you busy people, enjoy your outings and activities.
A gentle day is wished for all those who are unwell.
Have a pleasant Saturday, everyone.
Morning from a mixed blue/cloud sky in S Yorks. Better weather from tomorrow!
Yesterday I managed to pick up sewing after a long time and have modest pile of alterations, some lovely designer charity shop clothes that don’t quite fit.
I also managed to twinge my back very badly, so have written an SOS to an excellent healing trainer at my gym hoping for a sesh quickly. (edit - just got a Whatsapp for a 1.30 cancellation today)
GMattie a very happy birthday to you. You have done so well in the past months, and I hope your birthday is great. Rest tomorrow? We never know what life will throw at us, but you do so well.
Welcome to GN, Cherrylover. It’s been big plus in my life, hope it will be for you too.
Greyduster hoping your gardener will come. Mine came in the rain - well, sun rain mix - on Wednesday, but still managed to cut the lawns with her super mower. Hope the rain holds off.
Bests for family meets ups, especially when it doesn’t happen often, and take care poorlies.
Welcome Cherrylover you’ll soon feel ‘at home’ here. We are a friendly bunch on the whole.
Forgot to say welcome to cherrylover and welcome to our lovely good morning thread
Good morning all from a bright, sunny but cold, Scottish Borders.
I was at an excellent story telling event last night locally.. The visiting storyteller is from Cork so we were transported to the land of fairies and giants.
My DMiL was taken in hospital yesterday for tests but the wait was so long by 1am her DD had to leave her without knowing what will happen.
I am doing a shift at the Saturday open house cafe this morning.

I hope that BabyDoll is doing well 💗 and also her DGM
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Good morning from a cloudy Black Country, where it is still very wet after all the rain yesterday.
Lovely afternoon yesterday, having lunch with the family. 10 of us in total. Not often we all get together with the 4 grandkids. Eldest starts University on Monday, so she is obviously excited but apprehensive.
No real plans today, we are going to Somerset to caravan next week, take it out of storage and see how it has fared over winter, so only staying a couple of days. So today will start making lists of what to take, and clean the carpets ready to take back.
MrJ is on a bike ride, so I will have an empty for a few hours.
Hoping a Baby doll is doing well.
Wishing you all a lovely day
Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.
I too am cooking gammon today along with preparing a Swiss Cheese bake for tonight. Off to look at tiles for the new kitchen as well.
Had an exhausting but successful day shopping with Persie and slept really well last night.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all.
A local food shop this morning with a coffee before.
DD2 will be calling in to collect some cakes on her way to a holiday in Cornwall with a friend .
Will probably see DD3 and smallest DGS as SIL and older DGS are off on a rugby tour !
Hope all is well with babydoll.
Kind thoughts to all with worries, troubles and illness.
Wishing all a good day and hoping for a little sunshine.
Good morning Michael and all GNs from an overcast rather chilly South Yorkshire. It rained non stop yesterday and has been pretty wet all week, so how the gardener is going to manage today I don’t know. He may cry off. We’ll have to see. I have some small jobs out there to do myself but I don’t want to get in his way. I may bake instead. Yesterday was a day of sorting a ridiculous amount of paperwork.
Happy Birthday GM! Hope it’s a good one.
Welcome to you, Cherrylover.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning all from bright Harrogate. Happy birthday GrandMattie looks like you’ll be moving in soon! Hope Babydoll is progressing.
My DGS was ill yesterday so hope he’s better today. We are off to Llandudno today. Good thing I’m not driving, didn’t sleep very well at all last night. So will probably doze in the car.
Have the best day possible folks
A warm welcome to GN Cherrylover
Grandmabatty, enjoy having a day to yourself. Salmon salad is a favourite of mine.
Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester.
No plans for the weekend here so we'll probably just vegetate after getting in supplies from Aldi. I need to get the ironing done.

We’re taking DGD to her dance class this morning and then need to find something to do with DGS whilst she’s there. Maybe a trip to Fort George and a look out for dolphins might suit - will see!

Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from Glasgow where I am hoping the sun will break through a very thick fog.
A day off from gardening, although pleased to have done more than I thought I could yesterday, don’t want to push my luck.
I will be treating GD1, almost 18, to a hair do today, a bit cut off her long auburn hair and she would like it darkened slightly. I will leave her in the safe hands of my trusted hairdresser Laurence. Doesn’t seem that long ago when I took her to L for a tidy up when she was 4!
Hoping your baby grandaughter is fairing well Marydoll.
Happy birthday GM🎂 and best of luck in your next chapter.
Hopefully, a good day is ahead for all.
