A "nice" thread

I feel like starting a "nice" thread.

Post something nice that is happening now to you. Or in the past. Or likely to happen in the future.

In real life, I know of some things that are not nice that are happening to people. But I know these things in confidence. Each person does not know about the other.
People think I have only their problem to help them with, whereas in reality, I have about six.

I am ok really I think.
Just fancied a bit of cheering up.
I am actually going out today to a nice thing, which will hopefully help.
So at some point, I wont reply back for a while.

Thank you Fancythat.
We have all got everything crossed for her, hoping that she does well.

That’s so lovely LucyW. I can feel your pride.

Heard yesterday that DH's niece is running in the Marathon. So sending all good wishes to her for a good run.

Good luck to your DH's neice today AuntieFlo!

I spent a lovely day with my son and baby grand daughter. We went for lunch ( he treated me) then we visited several dealerships as he was helping me choose a new car. It was such an great day and a joy to be in their company. He holds down a job he loves but with long hours and is married with such a gorgeous wee girl. I look at him and think when I was his age, 24, I had just started my career after university and two post grad years, was carefree and single (and probably selfish and still like a teenager!) He is a very caring son and how I wish his daddy and my parents were still around as they would be so proud of the man he has become.

fancythat If you want to answer a particular one, do so. No one will be offended. 🙂

hmm. Wary of opening that!
I suspect there is a joke in there!

Was this post directed at mine Re the Airbnb. If so, I can assure you it’s genuine.
I have been a member of GN for 12 years and would never post an un-safe link.

Yes it was to you.

Opened it now. Whoa and wow! Quite stunning.

It was something my DH said a few days ago. To be wary of opening links even on GN.
It wasnt something that occured to me before then, even though I am always wary elsewhere.
So I had his voice ringing in my ear!

I've a trip to make from Euston Underground to the O2 arena. Apparently I need the Jubilee line? Could anyone tell me where to change and finally get off, please? I've tried tfl. SO confusing!

The easiest way is to take the Victoria Line (Southbound) from Euston (not Euston Square, that's a different station) three stops to Green Park then change to the Jubilee line (final destination Stratford) to North Greenwich.

Card from my grandson with lots of chat about his recent holiday in Bruges. He is 14 and not usually given to writing much, so this was a real treat.

DD’s boys haven’t got chicken pox, yippee!

Seems like an allergic reaction after us both racking our brains to what had caused them both to have spots in same places at same time we have narrowed it down to a Lush Bath Bomb.

There are a large number of posters on this thread.
But you may be better off starting a thread in the Health topic about your 17.31pm post Gossamerbeynon1945?
Then all posters would see it and may be able to help?

17.26pm post - Not sure I have seen a Labradoodle in real life. I think I want to!

Gossamerbeynon1945 Tue 18-Apr-23 17:31:09

How do you cope, when your balance has gone. I have AMD and I am very frightened of falling. I saw a private doctor, recently, and he said that I have a pinched nerve in my spine and Osteoperosis. I have taken vitamin D3 on a daily basis for the last twenty years, so I think he might be wrong about this.

Gossamerbeynon1945 Tue 18-Apr-23 17:26:12

Today, my daughter brought her new puppy up to my house, to visit. He is so very lovely amd really listens to her. He is only 10 weeks old and is a Labradoodle and has very big paws! He is gorgeous!

A lovely thread.
I go into a local primary to read with 6 and 7 year olds. Such a joy to be with them and always amazes me how children learn actually learn to read!

fancythat Tue 18-Apr-23 15:38:02

Thank you Knittyintrovert. It was me that thought it might come across in that way. Glad others have found this thread helpful as well.

Knittyintrovert Tue 18-Apr-23 14:09:20

That was to the person that stated this thread was me, me, me! I didn’t feel that at all. Just a nice way of starting some positivity during times of equal stress!

Knittyintrovert Tue 18-Apr-23 14:08:08

Wow really? Don’t think this comment was called for!

fancythat Tue 18-Apr-23 12:30:25

Ali08 No chance sadly! One of the subjects I know nothing about. There are some nice hobbies about, but I am useless at them.

The posts continue to cheer me thank you. x

ginny I used to think of a boring day as, well, boring. But I have learnt that they are no such thing.
Watching young children is enchanting.

ginny Tue 18-Apr-23 11:51:39

We spent an hour in the garden with our almost two year old grandson this morning. He chattered and explored and found everything so new and exciting. It reminded me to look and find the joy in little things.

Ali08 Tue 18-Apr-23 11:24:08

When you said 'a nice thread', FancyThat, I thought you were going to show us some embroidery threads!
There are some lovely ones out there.
I especially love variegated threads that go through several shades or colours as you stitch!
I hope what others have written here has cheered you up!! x
