I seem to have lost a day. So much admin yesterday I had no time to read this thread.
Dgd, two dogs and a basketful of damp laundry delivered by dsinl this morning. Walked dgd to school and she is pleased to be staying here overnight, the first time in a while. Not complaining though as she comes three mornings a week before and after school( dogs included) 😀.
Feeling quite proud of myself. I’m back in my size 14 trousers after three years. I feel as if I’ve a whole new wardrobe as nothing has been worn for so long.
🤞 for gingsters dd’s scan. As someone has said, a lovely cheerful lot of posts today. Hope everyone has a happy day.
The sun is now shining brightly here in Co Durham. Makes one feel so much better.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 18-Apr-23 10:20:06

It really does look like Chicken Pox (or Chicken Pops as it’s known in our family)

I have The Imp here and DH is at DD’s doing some odd jobs whilst the 8yr old lays on the sofa, they will be back here for lunch.

DD has escaped to work…

Good morning from bright Llandudno, it will probably be our best day so are going to Bodnant Gardens, such a beautiful place to go!
GrandMattie I got a new battery for
My iPad. I hadn’t realised it was not an Apple battery, it’s not much better than it was before and it doesn’t quite fit. It means I can’t resell it through an Apple dealer. I had intended to trade it in, but now can’t do that. I may sell it privately, but I feel I’ve been “done”
Glad you feel better Mick
You sound like you are in danger of doing too much Marydoll please take care.
Haven’t read a lot of posts. Will try to catch up!
Have the best day possible folks

aggie Tue 18-Apr-23 09:54:27

Good Morning from a bright and breezy Co Armagh, I haven’t been out yet
Going to trundle down to the local surgery for my Booster now
I hope everyone here has a lovely day xxx

A late good morning from overcast South Lanarkshire.

I will read the thread later so I hope everyone is ok.

I’ve a dental hygienist appointment so have to rush off.

Have the best day possible everyone.

EkwaNimitee Tue 18-Apr-23 08:54:21

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
I should be able to get this morning's planned wash outside for once. There's a bit of housework to get through also then hopefully a bit of gentle gardening. I was out yesterday planting, part of it involved hacking into the clay pit in one corner, which is hard going.
I'm sitting in my office gazing at the filing and general tidying up that also needs to be done. Boring! but I may tackle that later as well.
Best wishes for a good day to all and especially to Gingster's DD for a good result.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 18-Apr-23 08:54:07

Good morning from a bright but windy “up channel” South Downs.

Just back from our morning walk and breakfast. Scrambled egg and bacon made by DH.

I think that for body weight the wren has the loudest song of all the birds. All the birds were in full song this morning with drums provided by the woodpecker. Couldn’t hear myself think🙂.

Quick skim of posts and everyone seems ok which is good. All life is here🙂.

Well, for me it is a day of more gardening - busy time of year. Plus the usual stuff like ironing etc.

Chilli for dinner.

Enjoy your day one and all.

Taichinan Tue 18-Apr-23 08:30:48

Good morning all. My, what a busy thread this is this morning! I want to read it all now, but realise that if I do I won't have time to post.
So, it's a grey start here on the Angus coast - the dreaded haar! But according to my BBC weather app it will start to burn off soon and it will be sunny from midday - and for the rest of the week! (I just hope the haar has read the forecast too and knows what to do 😉)
Glad all went well yesterday Mick, and that you'll soon be in your flat grandmattie. Good luck with the buses. And have you looked for tai chi classes in your new home area? If there aren't any, you'd be just the person to start one up 😉
Karma your planned day sounds so lovely - I'm right there with you in spirit!
My own day is much more prosaic - tai chi class followed by shopping. The class of course I love, but how can one person generate so much shopping!! I must also pop down the garden and feed the fish - they were practically jumping out of the water for their food yesterday, which is a joy to watch. I really don't know why they fascinate me so much, but on a sunny day I can sit there gazing into the pond for hours on end - very calming.
Right, girding my loins and off I go. Have a lovely day everyone in whatever way you can, and enjoy the spring 🌼🌱 x

Greyduster Tue 18-Apr-23 08:29:37

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. Wyllow has given you our weather. Sun is trying hard at the moment. Dentist can’t find any reason for my troublesome tooth and recommended a sensitive toothpaste then started muttering about dying nerves and root canals at which point I beat a hasty retreat! Came home and got a whole lot of seedlings potted up.
A much needed haircut for me today after some much needed floor washing.
Glad the decorator got off to such a good start, Corner👍🏻.
Have a good day, folks.

Alygran Tue 18-Apr-23 08:20:00

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another dry day.
Busy yesterday with the village walk then lots of gardening. I’m feeling it today!
Off to RHS Harlow Carr to meet a friend this morning then back to town to catch up with someone else later.
Lots of cheerful posts today! Ginster I hope the scan goes ahead today.
Have a good day everyone.

Primrose53 Tue 18-Apr-23 08:18:00

Beautiful sunny morning here in Norfolk. Off to a Car Boot Sale on the coast and pop into a supermarket. Out of food again! When I get back I need to go over and put a Welcome Pack and card in the cottage we let for holidays as someone is coming in tomorrow.

Sar53 Tue 18-Apr-23 08:17:38

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
DH will drop me off in town this morning as I have a few bits to get in preparation for my big birthday in June (I like to be prepared). I'll get the bus home later.
Yesterday we bought material for me to make some curtains for the boat. DH cut them out for me, now to get the sewing machine out and do my best.
I haven't read all the posts so will do that now.
Happy Tuesday everyone xxx

Wyllow3 Tue 18-Apr-23 08:12:37

Morning from currently overcast S Yorks, but sun is predicted soon

Know what you feel, Oopsadaisy re move - exciting or scary - swing between the two in considering it.

glad everything went well, Mick.

difficult being “in between” GMattie
I always love seeing what you all are up to!

Yesterday was incredibly busy - since the power wash men were here for 3 hours, I cleared a lot of tricky admin and more in the evening. so today exhausted…might be the gym or might be pottering…

and definitely catch a bit of sun if it arrives.

The MRI results on my arm lump still not come back but either way its likely to be removal as its over 6 cms across - timescale likely to be long unless its dodgy. (NHS guidelines are lumps with blood vessels in over 5 cms removed but waiting depends what’s in them)

Best for poorlies and procedures and tests, days out, and special treats.

Liberty Tue 18-Apr-23 08:10:52

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk. I managed the long trip up north to visit my sister in hospital and, thankfully, the 3 trains each way worked well. I left home soon after 8am and got back at nearly 10.45pm feeling shattered. I thought I might sleep later than my usual waking time of around 7.30am but didn’t but this first cuppa tastes wonderful.

I hope Gingster your DD’s scan goes ahead as planned today and the results are what you are all hoping for.

I’m out for lunch with a group of friends today and then, hopefully,a couple of hours in the summerhouse finishing the book I started on my journey yesterday.

Hope there is a little sunshine in your day for all.

BlueSapphire Tue 18-Apr-23 08:09:42

Good morning everyone from a bright Northampton, just looked at the forecast and it is set to be dry and mild, so will chance some washing.

A busy day yesterday, yoga then home to start tidying and cleaning before my coffee morning tomorrow. Nothing like expecting visitors to trigger a good clean!
Then out in the afternoon for my 6th Covid jab, and now have a slightly sore arm. Then a nice walk to M&S Food and Next (to pick up an order) and get cake and flowers for tomorrow.

Just charging the vacuum cleaner ready to finish off the clean and tidy. This afternoon a.health walk beckons. Pizza for dinner tonight.

Hope.your daughter gets her scan today Gingster and that all goes well.

GrannySomerset Tue 18-Apr-23 08:07:44

Nothing planned today apart from a supermarket trip and Wonderful Cleaner working her magic. Always love the feeling of full fridge and clean house. WI this evening, so a good day all round.

Glad yesterday went well, Mick; encouraging news about Babydoll; hopeful news from grandMattie; all in all a good set of posts. Hope all goes well for Gingster’s DD and for all the plans for today.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 18-Apr-23 08:03:23

Oh dear Gingster I will keep my fingers crossed your DD’s scan goes ahead today 🤞

Good morning all from a cold and foggy east coast of Fife where there’s a promise of warmer weather and sunshine to come grammaretto Im so fortunate I have a view of the Bass rock every day from my front window.

I’m having friends visit today with their 4 yr old niece, should be fun and games smile

Blossoming Tue 18-Apr-23 07:48:44

Good morning all from cool, cloudy Lancashire. We are promised a sunny day, I have laundry to do so fingers crossed. Glad all went well Mick and lovely to hear Ash is feeding so much better now.

My eyes are not woken up yet, will read the thread properly later. I hope my Botox appointment at the ophthalmology clinic tomorrow so fingers crossed for a positive result,

Have a good day all 🌻🌻🌻

Good morning all from a dull Black country.
Hairdressers today then take the car to carwash before it goes into the garage Thursday to get oil leak fixed.
Yesterday DS phoned to see if we could do school and nursery pick up his conference was overrunning so that was a nice surprise to see the boys.
Managed an hour in the front garden early evening front lawn cut hopefully the back can be done sometime today.
How frustrating for your DD Ginster 🤞today goes as planned.
Have a good day everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 18-Apr-23 07:42:18

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m off to the Seamstress this morning. I have a dress which I’ll wear to niece number 3’s wedding in Sydney in August. It’s a little too long so needs some of the hem cutting off and then turning up. I can sew a bit but wouldn’t feel confident cutting bits off! I will pick up OH’s medication on the way home. He had a phone consultation with the Pharmacist yesterday and it turns out Brexit is to blame for one of his tablets being unavailable! Who would have thoughtsmileSo he is being supplied with a slightly different medication. They said they can’t get the other missing item at all at the moment. My younger son has decided to come this weekend from Friday to Monday, which is lovely. He may have to sleep on the sofa on Saturday though if my daughter wants to stay that night. She had scoliosis as a teenager so needs a proper bed. WI admin might loom this afternoon. What with our holiday followed by Easter visitors and then my sister and niece staying, it’s been pushed to one side. Have a good day. I think it might be warm enough to put our oleander outside.

Susan56 Tue 18-Apr-23 07:39:33

Good morning from Shropshire where a sunny day is forecast.

I had a lovely morning yesterday chatting to my friend and putting the world to rights!

Today we are going over to Staffordshire to collect B from school. We will take a picnic and stop somewhere scenic en route to enjoy it.My blood sugars are raised this morning for no apparent reason so need to monitor what I eat more carefully than usual today🙄

Good news that a moving date is imminent grandMattie and glad all went well yesterday Mick.

B had chickenpox before the Easter holidays GG and I would definitely recommend the spray and mousse.

How frustrating Gingster.Thinking of your DD today🙏🏻

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

harrigran Tue 18-Apr-23 07:38:53

Good morning from the NE where it is dry again after overnight fog.
Got all the washing and ironing done and found time to go into the garden and spray the weeds, dandelions seem to pop up overnight.
Hairdresser coming this morning.
The rest of the day will be spent sorting paperwork and trying to get an appointment with the solicitor, I need to write a new will and arrange power of attorney.

Marydoll Tue 18-Apr-23 07:35:25

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 6°C, with sunny weather.
I don't need my Fitbit to rell me I had little sleep, despite being really tired. My mind seems to be racing all the time.

Glad to hear your infusion went well, Mick. Hopefully your energy levels will go up.

I have a busy day ahead, a Safeguarding meeting this morning and in the afternoon, the dreaded dentist, I am looking forward to neither, I would rather be pottering in the garden. 😞
My days of running on a hamster's wheel are slowly creeping back, so I need to give myself a talking to! I am struggling a bit, with high pain levels. Consequently, I am verrrrry grumpy!

I decided I wasn't brave enough to speak to the GP surgery yesterday, about my rescue pack antibiotics. Instead, I added a note to my repeat request and a couple of hours later, received a call from the surgery pharmacist in the middle of TMaxx to tell me a new script was waiting.

Also, I had been putting off renewing my Blue Badge, due to issues finding a suitable photo and my scanner not working.
I have a passport photo app, which was useless! It didn't like the background and kept asking me to change it. Unfortunately, I kept chopping off bits of my head, hair and ears, due to my lack of dexterity.
In the end, I got DH to take a picture with my phone. Lo and behold, it was perfect!

Thank you all for your good wishes for Babydoll, she is doing well and concerns are lessening.
She has already been introduced to the world of Star Wars, sitting watching films with daddy (a fanatic) in the early hours, when she has been awake. DS says she is a bit of a night owl.
Due to her stomach issues, she must be fed at three hourly intervals and her feeds supplemented, not easy.
She has had a lucky escape. Her cousin was on her way to visit her, when her mum spotted a lone spot, chickenpox!

Good luck with your adventures today, GM, and I hope to hear better news of your MIL Grammaretto.
Thinking of *Gingsters DD and praying all went well yesterday.

Enjoy your days, whatever your plans.
