When were your parents born?

1914 for my father,who was killed in 1942 before I was born, and 1918 for my mother. My stepfather 1919. Both died in their mid sixties,I've outlived them all by many/several years.

Both in 1923 married when Dad came back from India.

My dad was in his mid 50s when I was born, this was a second marriage for him, and he was born in 1890 .My mother was 26 when she got married to him and she was born in 1911 . I look at picture from Facebook on the thread for the city dad was born in and marvel that he was alive when they used horse drawn carriages for transporting goods . He never spoke about his young life in fact he hardly spoke to me unless he was angry with me which was often . He really did not want a second family and died when I was not even a teenager . I never missed him .

Dad 1921, Mum 1922, met while serving in RAF in 1943, married 1947

Both 1923. They lived opposite each other, married at 19.

Dad 1918 and Mum 1922, they both died in the 70's following many years of ill health. I've lived longer than either of them but really never got to know either of them before they died as they were always rather "distant". I have a completely different relationship with my daughter!

In later years Mum felt the almost 10 years difference was too much. In older age she was keen to enjoy travel but he refused to fly.

So many of these couples have a father older than the mother. My parents met at university, so they were the same age. 18 when they met, 28 when they married.

Both of my parents were born in the same parish in 1923.
