Grandmachrisy 🤣

Your bus story Mattie reminded me of when we went to pick up DD from Bristol bus station not knowing quite where it was. DH got out of the car and took a stroll to ask someone where it was and she asked him if he was ‘looking for business’ 😉🤣

Good morning from a grey and cloudy Black Country.

It was a wonderful sunny day yesterday, and after the gym I actually sat in the garden to eat lunch!

Today we are off to Malvern to the theatre there tonight. Stay overnight in a hotel, then to Somerset Thursday morning to the site where we store the caravan. Just a couple of nights there to check over that it has survived the Winter ok, then back on Saturday via Bristol to see MrJ's DD.

Never been on a cruise Ashcombe, I would like to try one but MrJ isn't keen. Have a lovely time.

Enjoy your day all

Good morning all, it’s a cool and bright one here in South Lanarkshire.

Good travels Ash and Olddudders.

This evening, after work, we will take down the yarn bomb Easter decorations. Sadly some toerag has tried to remove the postbox topper, which fortunately was well secured with cable ties. It was discovered half on and half off by one of our group yesterday who took it away. Honestly, some people just can’t leave nice things alone.

Wishing everyone the best day possible. Sending hugs to those in need of one.

A quiet day ahead apart from singing this afternoon so not sure why I am up so early. My sympathy about the Bristol bus routes, gMattie, though I am sure you will work it out soon. Getting used to a new city is quite a challenge. Must go and load the washing machine, I think; might even get it dried outside.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where the sun is shining and it’s forecast to be another gorgeous sunny day

Your cruise sounds lovely Ash hoping you both have a wonderful time!

DGD stayed over last night so we’ll drop her off at school and then I’m going to the gym for a couple of classes. I really want to get home by lunchtime so I can potter in the garden this afternoon and make the most of the weather.

Beautiful picture Beechnut, thanks for sharing

Hoping all goes ok today with your appointment Jax

Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very cool, grey South Yorkshire. I’m going to try and cut my front lawn this morning. It’s very long now and I can’t stand to look at it any longer. It’s not that big so I should be able to tackle it if I take my time. The back is a different kettle of fish and will have to wait as I can’t get the mower up the steps anyway. If I survive the morning, writers group at the library this afternoon.
Good to hear the decorator did a good job, Corner.
Have a good holiday, Ash, it sounds lovely!
Enjoy your day, folks.

Grandmachrisy47 Wed 19-Apr-23 07:31:50

Good morning from a bright sunshiny Co Durham.
Enjoy your cruise, Ash, I’m envious 😀. 🤞 grandMattie for the exchange. I also use bus apps as our buses can be random.

I’ve just had the paper boy knock at the door, I asked what he wanted and he pointed at the doorstep then I a saw that dgd had chalked an arrow pointing to the door and written knock 😂😂. She was drawing a hopscotch grid. Must wash it off.

I’ll pop and read everything later, have a good day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Misty again but yesterday was like a Summer's day once the haar burned off
I was on the bus to and fro the hospital for a large part of it. It was good to see DMiL a lot better. Whilst there, 2 nurses, a doctor and a physio attended her! And the tea trolley came round. Parts of the
NHS are first class.
Yarn group followed by community lunch, an optician appointment for me today and then I'm joining a new badminton group. scary

gMattie you are a poster girl for house moving as LLFL says. I am confident you will manage just fine in the new place.

Your river cruise sounds lovely Ash.

Have a good day everyone.

Beechnut Wed 19-Apr-23 07:27:04

And another one

Beechnut Wed 19-Apr-23 07:26:05

Good morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

I’ve a few jobs to finish off today and my friend is visiting. I might go to a talk this afternoon. It depends if the garden calls me.

Beechnutella sent me some photos yesterday. She was taking a trip on the Garnergrat railway. She then video called me to show me 360 what she was able to see, which was a lovely surprise.
I haven’t read any of your news so I’ll go back and do that while drinking my cuppa.

Hope you all have a good day 🌼

Grandmabatty Wed 19-Apr-23 07:22:25

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and cold. Blue skies and a touch of frost together. Ash have a lovely trip. Grandmattie I'm sure you'll get used to the buses in time. It can all seem disorientating, can't it? Mick definitely a day for staying in, away from the cold. Susan I hope your daughter gets well soon.
Yesterday was a lovely day with the boys. Nothing special, just a nice day. Dgs2 and I walked up the street and he met two neighbours who were pleased to see him. Then we met another neighbour on the way back from the swings. He gave her a big smile which isn't his usual greeting. He's quite a reserved boy normally with people he's not sure of. However she got beams. I'm glad as she recently lost her husband who was a lovely man.
Today I have a friend who is coming round. I haven't seen her for a while as she hurt her knee and struggled to walk. I promised lunch, so a quick trip to M & S is required soon. I have nothing else planned. I have a bit of a headache so paracetamol will hopefully take care of that. Something with leftover chicken for dinner. Have a good day all.

kittylester Wed 19-Apr-23 07:20:17

Morning all from grey North Leicestershire.

I have an AgeUk meeting today with cake! And I am taking my black coat to be altered.

Have a brilliant day everyone.

BlueBalou Wed 19-Apr-23 07:17:53

Good morning, another grey start to the day here in Wiltshire; we did have a couple of hours sunshine yesterday but the afternoon was decidedly chilly.
I cleaned my car out yesterday, great improvement, and vacuumed out the debris from our holiday and my painting course- there are lots of Douglas firs in the parking areas that seem to shed needles incessantly and they get everywhere.
Today it’s a trip to the town for a watercolour painting workshop, I vaguely remember where to go as went there pre-Covid.
I have another there on Sunny so looking forward to meeting with new people.
Take care everyone x

GrannyGravy13 Wed 19-Apr-23 07:10:58

Morning all

The sun is out, showers are forecast though.

Off to the gym this morning, pottering this afternoon.

Enjoy your cruise Ashcombe , fingers crossed grandMattie , it’s always good when the decorating is complete cornergran

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Jaxjacky Wed 19-Apr-23 07:05:31

Morning from an overcast S Hants. What an adventure gMattie good news 🤞on the flat.
Have a fantastic time Ashcombe and Oldudders.
GP, well, the nurse today for annual MOT, bloods etc. My daughter is calling in at some point for a cup of and a catch up, she normally has children in tow, so a pleasant change.
Library and Farm Shop later.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Pittcity Wed 19-Apr-23 07:01:37

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It started like this yesterday but soon clouded over and the wind made it feel chilly.
I'll wear layers for my short walk into the city centre for the Wednesday morning coffee meetup.
There's ironing with my name on it for later. I'm also going through my family tree to correct mistakes and add new info. It's never ending, so little and often is best.
I rely on phone apps for bus info GM as our buses are forever changing just to confuse us.
Love to all 🦩 x

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. We should have been attending the U3A lunch today but OH still has a cough which he caught from Typhoid Mary on the boat. Our new cleaner is coming this morning and then I will sort out a room for my brother and his partner. They are arriving this evening in London, staying in a hotel and I will pick them up in Oxford tomorrow morning. Hair cut at 4 pm. It is WI tonight and we are having Puddings and Prosecco. I have already made mine - a rich chocolate dessert cake. I will whip up a bowl of cream to serve with it. I have a fair bit of admin to do. There is no escape! Have a good day. GM - you could teach a friend of mine a thing or two regarding moving house! She bought a bungalow in our village over two years ago. She still hasn’t moved in due to what I would call extreme faffing! She is still in her old house paying two mortgages and two lots of council tax. Why would you do that?

grandMattie Wed 19-Apr-23 06:47:58

Happy cruising, Ash and olddudders. The Gironde is very interesting, scenically and historically. Make sure you visit the famous Dune du Pilat, if you can - fascinating.

Susan56 Wed 19-Apr-23 06:28:53

I’m glad you are pleased with the decorating corner and a bonus that the cost was less than quoted.

Susan56 Wed 19-Apr-23 06:25:41

Good morning from Shropshire.

The wind was chilly here and in Staffordshire yesterday too Mick.

DD saw the GP yesterday who has arranged various tests for her and changed a couple of further appointments.

A day at home today catching up on housework and admin for me and gardening for DH. I am hoping for a quiet afternoon reading 🤞

I hope everything goes smoothly today grandMattie.

Safe travels to Ash and olddudders.

Have the best day you can everyone 🦩

Ashcombe Wed 19-Apr-23 06:18:07

Good morning from a damp Torbay.

A day indoors sounds like a good plan, Mick. Cold winds are not helpful.

Bus services in different places can be a challenge, grandMattie, but I’m sure you’ll soon find your way round. Perhaps there’s a website for the bus companies. Good news about the iPad and the sale contracts.🤞

An early start today for a taxi to Newton Abbot station to travel to Southampton to board MV Balmoral for a cruise along some French rivers: the Seine, Gironde and Garonne. A welcome chance to relax on our fourth cruise with Fred Olsen.

Happy hump day to you all! 🦩🥰⚓️💐🦩

cornergran Wed 19-Apr-23 06:17:41

Morning Mick, morning All. From what I can see our corner of Somerset is cloudy and is forecast to remain so for the day.

Our speedy decorator was finished by lunch time yesterday amazingly reducing the cost from his quote as it had taken less time than he anticipated. Mr C was sensible (for once!) and waited until I was home to think about reinstating the furniture. Other than the curtains we had all back in place by early evening and are both pleased with the outcome.

This morning I need to find the curtains, we are going to have a change, swap cushion covers and then try to sort a steam train trip. We’ll treat ourselves to lunch out, a mid week roast in a tiny garden centre cafe that never fails to please.

Good news about your new home grandmattie. You’ll soon understand those buses.

Take care everyone.

grandMattie Wed 19-Apr-23 05:57:49

Good morning from a dawning Bristol. Still grey with a breeze.
Yesterday was interesting. I got the bus into the town centre, but it terminated where I didn’t expect. Muddled through, the couldn’t find the Apple Store. Once there, I had the most fantastic service, new iPad to replace battery! Tried to find M&S, not knowing it had closed down. Finally, could t find the return bus, eventually called DD who told me to take a different bus to the one I came into town on… I was exhausted by the time I got back.
It would seem I’m exchanging today and likely to complete tomorrow, 🤞🤞🤞 thought not 100% sure yet. Furniture not arriving until the end of next week.
Today, I’m going to meet the estate agent to measure the flat for curtains. Another bus adventure on different lines again. In Sandwich, there were three buses, one to Canterbury, one to Dover and one to Ramsgate…. Here, it is a completely different kettle of fish! 🤨
I hope today brings little nuggets of joy to you all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩
