Good morning from North Yorkshire. More sunshine and a chilly wind here.
Yesterday my friend and I did a walk around Masham ( of Theakstons and Black Sheep fame for beer drinkers). It was lovely to walk beside the river and catch up on all our news.
In the evening I went to the cinema to see Rye Lane. Different and interesting!
Today I am planting some dahlias and begonias, doing a bit of admin then heading up to Teesside for a walk by the barrage and shopping and the cinema again to see alleluia.
Gm I’m sorry to hear that the move is not straightforward. You certainly don’t need the added stress. Look after yourself flowers
Wishing you all a good day.

Good Morning from S Yorks

Supposed to be sunny all day, not a lot of it yet though. Cleaner comes so I might disappear to the gym.

Later today DS is going to visit a block of retirement flats nearish to them to see how suitable they actually are for me, he has a list. Still v undecided about moving but all part of finding out.

Sorry for your horrible day yesterday, GMattie
Wise wird’s, karmalady

Good morning everyone from sunny Severnside. A lovely blue sky up above.

Instead of working in the garden I’m going to put on a pretty skirt and my new cardigan and go out. I’ll do the weekly shop and also gather up a few items I want from another store. I can then carry on with my garden planting project. Tomorrow as rain is expected I’ll do some sewing. I’m making a fancy dress costume for Beechnutella ready for her birthday.

My friend came for a chat yesterday. I didn’t actually get to do much talking as it happened and was left wondering about something she had said!

You’ve done so well Mattie under a huge emotional time.

Have a good day all, sandals and sun hats 🦩🌼🌞

Good morning all and it’s a lovely bright morning here in Essex.
Yesterday was a good day . Dd didnt come to Mass as she wasn’t feeling too well. I found a spot at the back of the church on the end of a row. Sat peacefully. Suddenly an elderly lady asked me to move up so she could sit on the end. There were so many other places she could sit. 🙄. She then proceeded to cough for England . Next a young mum arrived and sat the other side of me with her noisy 2 yr old. Just as the priest arrived we stood, and a very tall lady stood directly in front of me. I had to shuffle along away from the coughed and nearer to the imp.
The church wasn’t crowded by any means and suddenly I was hemmed in. Never mind ! Next time I’ll try to find a better spot. 🙏. I had gone along for peace and reflection 🤣😂.

Walked into town and popped into the church there. I was welcomed and shown around and given a leaflet of all their ‘doings’. I sat in the church garden and phoned Dd and a lady come over to me and asked if I’d like a coffee to keep me warm.
She sat with me a while and chatted. How lovely!

Then walked to the market and bumped into an old friend and chatted a while with her. Got my skate wings from the mobile fishmonger and walked home. My neighbour came out and we chatted again. I felt the world was giving me a hug. ❤️.
My two brothers phoned last evening. OMG. I was all chatted out! 🥰.
Bowls this morning and a quick hair trim. Dd coming in after school pick up and little gd is starting brownies, so we’ll take her there and have a coffee while we wait. Excited isn’t the word for her! 👧.

Goodness, I have rambled on. Sorry 😢.
Take care all 🌷

Morning all

The sun is out but there is a chill in the air.

Hoping to go into Chelmsford today (John Lewis and The White Company are calling me🤣)

grandMattie you must be emotionally drained, you have had such a traumatic time of late, slow down and be gentle to yourself 💐💐💐

Have a good day follow 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° with a slight frost still. It looks like another sunny day ahead. Grandmattie it all sounds too much to deal with. 💐 Karma lovely words to be sure. Susan I'm sure you will find the right place but looking can be dispiriting. TopsyIrene how nice to hear from you. I love alliums too. Cornergran I sympathise. It seems the busier my day, the less I sleep.
Yesterday I had a lovely afternoon chatting with a friend. I bought lunch from M and S and very nice it was too. As is my usual, I bought too much, so I have soup and sandwiches left for lunch today and cakes which I'll take to dd's. I like entertaining and rarely do it so it was lovely to see the dining table set with spring flowers decorating it.
Today I'm going to be very lazy. I might do a spot of tidying up in the garden but little else. Cajun chicken pasta for dinner. Have a good day all

Good morning from a frosty Oxfordshire, not unusual at this time of the year when (it seems) that everyone is planting plants, ours are still indoors.
Arrived home from the South Coast yesterday, most of washing is done plus changing beds from daughters staying here whilst we were away, cleaning today, then a start to the decluttering .
GM you would think that a company specialising in homes for the older market would show some compassion and be helpful rather than be obstructive, wouldn’t you? Fingers crossed you will be in your new home soon and that from then all will be smooth sailing.
Have a good day everyone, at least there is sunshine.
I’ll try to enclose a pic of yesterday morning at Calshot.

TopsyIrene06 Thu 20-Apr-23 07:00:35

Karmalady So very true and beautifully described.

Again, very cold here but bright so we should see the sun today.
A shock of a grocery shop yesterday. My goodness, prices have rocketed and how on earth families manage I just don't know.

Today I shall refresh my planters and hopefully find my favourite Alliums or at least the ones that have made it this year.

Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is already shining.

We went to view a bungalow yesterday which looked perfect in the estate agents brochure and the virtual tour. The reality was that it wasn’t suitable at all.

H will be arriving soon.We have decided not to go to playgroup today and H can help grandpa in the greenhouse and garden.

You have done so well grandMattie in such difficult circumstances. You are allowed a wobble now and again.I hope today is a good day with a definite date forthcoming.Yesterday afternoon when we were sorting things to get rid of I was telling myself be more Mattie💪🏼

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright corner of Somerset.

Will someone tell me why after a non stop busy day yesterday I’ve had little sleep? So frustrating. Curtains ironed and hung yesterday morning I didn’t stop, other than to enjoy a very tasty mid week roast at the small garden centre close by.

We’ll wander out today to make the most of a brighter day, no idea where, see where we find ourselves

You’re in the midst of such a huge change no wonder it’s hard at times grandmattie. Hope today feels more manageable.

Take care everyone. Hope Thursday is gentle with us all .

karmalady Thu 20-Apr-23 06:32:35

good morning to everyone, a sunny but windy dry day ahead

I am expecting a visitor later, she and I used to live next door to each other and she was widowed 18 months ago. That is what I miss here, no neighbours like her nor an allotment that I used to pop up to, almost every single day.

I get where you are coming from GM. I give my 3 AC space, so they can have their privacy and get on with their hectic lives. It does mean having to live in a parallel universe and showing self-sufficiency so as not to break bonds through being over-reliant. It is all superficial and so easy to feel empty inside, in spite of a bright front.

Onward and upwards today

Good morning all from cool and bright South Lanarkshire, it’s 1 degree according to Alexa.

I have to be out early as I’ve a hospital appointment at 8 am, I’ll enjoy my coffee and yoghurt when I get home. Then it’s off to Edinburgh for childminding, poor DH’s knee is giving him so much pain just now though, we’re a right pair. grin

gMattie, that all sound so stressful.

Sending a hug to those in need of one, have the best day possible everyone.

monk08 Thu 20-Apr-23 06:21:48

Good morning all from the Black country overcast at the moment but I believe we are in for a sunny day.
Early start the car going in for the oil leak to be sorted and now dealership has moved what was a nice 15min journey with a lovely cafe which did a great breakfast has now more than doubled breakfast needs to be eaten beforehand.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later, enjoy your Thursday whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

BlueBalou Thu 20-Apr-23 06:13:45

Sending you hugs grandMattie. It’s so frustrating and exhausting I imagine 🤗🤗

grandMattie Thu 20-Apr-23 06:08:52

Good morning from Bristol. The wind was very cold yesterday despite the now much warmer temperatures.
My foray to the flat went mostly well yesterday, buses in were fine. (I did figure out the app on my phone or so I thought). The return journey less so, with buses not turning up, me getting hopelessly lost when I got off as I went right instead of left, my phone nearly ran out of charge. I ended up in floods of tears, calling DD to rescue me by car. Bless her.
Meanwhile, I had two mails from the solicitor, telling me of more obstacles from the management company, requiring more money (naturally), if I wanted things to move faster, early next week instead of ??? when ever they fancied. It is all emotionally exhausting, putting me through the wringer, with no one to talk it through, as I don’t want my fragile relationship with DD to be rocked. She is doing enough.
Today will be better. Carpe diem 🦩🦩❤️🦩

BlueBalou Thu 20-Apr-23 06:07:39

Good morning Mick, it’s a 3° cold start here in Wiltshire.
Yesterday I had a lovely watercolour workshop all day, really relaxing and informative.
Today I will walk DDog early, I need to make a cake and I have art group this afternoon.
I’m hoping to get a bit of gardening done too, there’s a border that needs re-jigging and the lawn edges need recutting (horrible job, I hate it!)
Hopefully tomorrow the new fence will start, posts being erected I think 🤞🏻, Saturday the patio will be finished. It’s getting there…..slowly 😊
