Good morning from sunny, breezy coastal West Sussex. I have a very red nose having spent all afternoon at the allotment without any sun protection. DH has just gone off there, liberally smeared with the tiny tube of sun cream that I could find - where are the large bottles from last year?

I am dog sitting today - she will bounce in enthusiastically in 40 minutes. I hope she will help me in the garden this afternoon 😃

Tomorrow we are going to London for the climate crisis demo. There is a church service at St John’s, Waterloo first. I worry so much about our children’s and GC’s future and yet I still drive a petrol car and a diesel campervan and run gas central heating etc etc. Is there any hope for us?

“Not the kind of Botox that freezes your wrinkles, I earned those” - quite right too, Blossoming but hope your treatment is successful.

Happy birthday BlueSapphire.

Lovely photos, Ash and Taichinan.

Karmalady, I take it you moved to be near your family? It’s so hard to get to that place of familiar routines and friendly meetings that build up when you’ve lived somewhere a long time. Hang on in there and it will gradually happen.

Grandmattie, I echo the thoughts and good wishes of others on here. Hope you get settled in your new home soon and without additional expense!

Marydoll, I am envious of your cuddles with babydoll. One of my DGS’s had reflux and had to be fed some sort of ‘thickening’ mixture to keep his food down. Hope things will improve for her, soon.

What a lot of posts this morning!
Just back from hairdressers but having a quiet day. The sun is shining here in Co Durham.
Happy Birthday, BlueSapphire. I second the power bank suggestions grandMattie, hope you’re soon settled in your new home, accepting help is not easy for an independent person but needs must sometimes.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
DD here from the south for a few days and she is a busy helpful bee, weeding the drive and helping me with admin etc. I’m still tired after my southern roamings so had a quiet day yesterday and I hope the same today.
DS came over yesterday and a monster out of use old tv has been loaded into DDs car for the tip along with a few other buys and bobs. I cooked a chicken and he cooked some tasty bits to go with it.
Happy Birthday Blue Sapphire get well soon Nannagarra and I hope things settle down nicely for you Grandmattie

Happy birthday BlueSapphire🥳🍾🥂💐

Nannagarra wishing you a speedy recovery💐

Blossoming Thu 20-Apr-23 10:22:39

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire.

Yesterday I had the Botox treatment for my dodgy eye. (Not the kind of Botox that freezes your wrinkles, I earned those!). I.now have swollen bruised eyelids and a bloodshot eye, but that will settle down in a few days. It takes up to a week to see any difference so I’m resisting the temptation to keep looking in the mirror.

I won’t be going out today as the sun is so bright even with dark glasses.

Have a good day all 🌻

Good morning from Sefton where it’s sunny and beginning to warm up.
Your third paragraph Karmalady is wonderfully wise and beautifully expressed. I’ve taken a screenshot of it.
Oh, Mattie, I do want to give you a hug, brave lady. A power pack, taxis, and the help of your solicitor should make life easier.
Today I’m hoping to ramble a bit further from the house. Recovering from pneumonia, for which I was hospitalised, is taking a while. How I’d love a mooch in some shops.
Take care everyone.

Good Morning from sunny Co Armagh
Just been out to take geraniums out of the greenhouse , we are hardening them off , I think it’s too early to plant them out , DD is champing at the bit !
grandMattie I was told I needed to ask my lot for help , they were so used to me bossing them about and being the “ go to “ that it took a bit of getting used to me needing help ! It’s good to be independent , but help is gladly given when we ask . You have been so much this last year and done wonderfully well xxx
Marydoll I love that cuddly baby feeding in my arms , but the last time I was asked to hold a wee one I nearly refused I was so overwhelmed!

ShazzaKanazza Thu 20-Apr-23 09:08:42

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a lovely Hull morning.

I am just taking cushions apart to wash the covers and get them on the line. I’m still getting to grips with my new washer.
I think I may do a Pilates recording in an hour as I’ve just finished my breakfast. I like doing a recording where I can put in my own moves if she does one I don’t like.
Later I’ll pick GS up from school. DH is going to cut DDs grass. She’s so busy and had to employ the services of a cleaner yesterday. My son in law is due home from sea next week after 3 months so they are all excited to see him.

Dear grandMattie you will be soon settled in your new home. You are so proactive I admire you so much💐💐

I hope you have a lovely day. You are all in my thoughts 🌻🌻

Stilllearning Thu 20-Apr-23 09:07:47

Morning from, as baubles said, bright but cold S Lanarkshire.
I can never decide what to wear when it’s like this.

Lovely lunch with DGD yesterday, another month to go and first year finished. She and three friends have managed to find a decent flat for next year, they have to take it from June but at least that’s one worry settled. She says it’s the first one they’ve seen which had no mould!

grandMattie you sound as though you’re at the end of your tether. Getting lost would be the last straw. Maybe try taxis for essential journeys just now, keep buses for casual trips when you’re not stressed and getting a bit lost doesn’t matter.
I hope today is better.

Gingster, I’m glad you found a welcoming church, it sounds just what you needed💐

House work and perhaps a coffee with friends this afternoon, I hope we all have a pleasant day.

Marydoll Thu 20-Apr-23 09:06:52

Happy birthday, BlueSapphire!

Good morning from Cheshire where it is glorious this morning - clear blue sky and that dratted wind has dropped a little. It’s still cool but I have hopes it will warm up later. It’s so lovely outside that it immediately lifted my mood.
If only it would last. We are off to N Wales for the weekend so not quite sure what to pack. Here we are towards the end of April and I am still in winter layers topped by a warm jumper. Not got the heating on though so that’s a win. I am going to change the beds and get a satisfying line of washing out. My daughter and her partner are coming for dinner tonight so looking forward to that. A little bit nervous though. He is a fabulous cook while I am a reasonable baker but not so good at main meals. The last time they came I completely messed up a roast. Fingers crossed I produce something acceptable tonight.
