Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset has just clouded over.

Yesterdays wall to wall sunshine tempted us to a small town we’d not visited before and then further along the coast for lunch and a walk along an almost empty prom. While the wind was cool the sun was so welcome. A good day made better by the arrival of a technician to sort our sticking front door.

Clothes sorting for me today after an undoubtedly frustrating phone call to customer services at our grocery supplier. Their computer insists it can’t take a payment, if it can’t then it’s their glitch not mine. Fourth time this has happened. Not a happy bunny. May well be swapping and trying another supermarket, enough now.

It can’t be long now, grandmattie 🤞. Hope the curtain hunt is successful.

Sounds a relaxing time ash. Enjoy today. Hope your daughter has a helpful outcome susan. All coming together ladylfl. Full house soon.

Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and sunny. We've had a spell of sunny weather which is due to break soon. Marydoll insomnia is so awful, isn't it? I sleep badly and last night was a poor night too. Susan I'm thinking of your dd.
Yesterday was a lovely quiet day, just pottering around the house and the garden.
Today I'll have dgs2 for an hour to let dd get her nails done. He'll probably go for a nap so it should be an easy shift 🤞 I'll change the bedding today so I can get it outside, just in case tomorrow is gloomy. Other than that, some Spanish, some pottering and cleaning the fridge - a job I hate. Have a good day all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, chilly and very breezy South Yorkshire. Had a lovely trot round the woods in the sunshine with the walking group yesterday morning. The paths were dry and the bluebells are nearly out. Lunch with DD and then home, by which time the wind had got up and put paid to my plans for gardening. It was so cold that coming back into the sun-warmed conservatory was like stepping into a warm bath! Food shopping to do today and a bit of tidying up.
BlueSapphire I missed the chance to wish you a Happy Birthday yesterday🎂
Have the best day you can, folks.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Brother and his partner arrived yesterday. Sister and niece are back today but will be staying in an air bnb. Younger son is coming from London. He will take the final spare room. OH is off shooting targets. His first outing since getting back from our holiday. I was chatting to a friend the other evening. She will also be 70 shortly, and also can’t quite believe it!

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. Yesterday was an ideal day for drying washing outside, sunny and breezy. I tidied the garden and rearranged the bin/gardening storage.
Today is the complete opposite. The heating is set low and has come on, so it's chilly too.
I need to walk to Aldi for supplies but otherwise pottering indoors today.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all from the Black country after a lovely sunny day yesterday it's back to rain.
Need to collect the car it will be a taxi trip there the nearest bus stop from the dealership is a mile away up hill not pleasant when its raining. Don't think they thought it out when they decided to move their old place was so easy and convenient.
Meeting friends later at the club.
Enjoy your day whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey cloud but forecast to be sunny again later.
Hoping all goes well for your DD today Susan
Today I’m off to the gym for the dreaded circuits class, followed by a dip in the pool. Then nip across the car park to Costa for a catch up with my friend - we’ll probably get a cake too after the hard work at the gym 😉
Enjoy your art today BlueBalou
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from an extremely soggy North Leicestershire.

Our gardener is coming this afternoon to discuss her plans for replanting one border. She was also planning on doing some tidying but not sure she will manage that.

I have to go to the butcher's and Waitrose and to drop somethings off at DS2's and the playgroup.

Have the best day possible, everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 21-Apr-23 07:32:39

Morning all

The ground is wet and the sky is grey here in S E Essex, where is Spring?

Off to the gym first thing, then pick up The Imp at lunchtime from pre-school. We are not going out for dinner this evening it will be a Chinese takeaway (I do not cook on a Friday, ever)

Safe journey Gingster enjoy your cruise Ashcombe I would have a quiet day Marydoll lack of sleep is debilitating.
Sar53 I hope your cough has gone and you are feeling better.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from Balmoral, moored at Rouen on a sunny but chilly morning.

We arrived yesterday afternoon after a lovely few hours sailing up the Seine, passing forests, picturesque villages and some industrial areas. Courtesy trips into the city were available but we didn’t want to encounter any “manifestations” (another General Strike was on) so we stayed on board.

Last night was the first formal night so we donned our glad rags and enjoyed the evening although again the restaurant service was slow and we missed the start of the show. ☹️

Today we plan to go by courtesy bus into Rouen to visit the cathedral, etc. Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’ve planned. 🦩🥂🦩💐🦩

Good morning all and it’s raining and dreary here in Essex .

I’m glad you had a lovely day yesterday GM you deserve a bit of rest and relaxation. Hope you hear something today 🤞.

We are off this morning to our Suffolk seaside. DS1 and 2 are coming for the weekend to help us with some jobs. There’s a lot of painting to be done , but the weather forecast is wet.😤.
We have painting indoors to be done too, so they won’t be idle.

I’ve booked the local pub carvery for tomorrow night , which is the best around, so they’ll be happy with that.

Take care and stay dry if you can ☔️.

good morning from s somerset, was a gorgeous uplifting day yesterday, in all ways. Today will be dull and wet

My plan today is to bring one of my spinning wheels downstairs. I have not used it since I started de- cluttering in my last house. over 4 years ago. I bought an updated new flyer for it last night and will have to re-learn but I am excited.

Knitting today too I want to get on with my jumper from 4 ply frogged merino.

Also a large oat and date traybake to be made later. I need something sweet in my freezer and one small square a day is satisfying enough, after lunch. Not forgetting a walk into town either

Garden is looking lovely with that spring flush and soon the flowers will take over. All of it is now drought proofed, I shall not be worrying about watering

A good day to all

Marydoll Fri 21-Apr-23 06:58:49

Susan, I hope all goes well for your daughter. 💐

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where its only 2°C.
I had just fallen asleep after an awful night , when DH got up to get ready for his golf. 😒

Mick, you are correct about all self service checkouts being different, I always get muddled! Just count yourself lucky, that you don't get a random trolley search, when doing a Smart shop. I get one ( picked by the terminal) just about every time. I am becoming paranoid, thinking it's a conspiracy directed at me. 😄

I don't have much planned for today, apart from a trip to Sainsbury's, where of course I will do a Smart shop.
If anyone is interested, they have a TU sale on, started yesterday.
I will also need to pop up to DS1's home with a birthday invitation for Dollie from DIL2's niece, who is of a similar age.
DS2's family, where there are lots of cousins, have taken Dollie into their fold. Dollie is loving the company

I will probably have a snooze later in the conservatory, (they certainly aren't naff, as stated on another thread) this lack of sleep is getting me down. Chronic fatigue is starting to raise its ugly head again.
My Sjogren's is very active and I have a permanent dry mouth and throat. Always hoarse, it means that I keep waking up every hour, needing a drink and consequently the loo. 😔
DH uses my lack of voice as an excuse for not hearing his orders.😉

I hope BlueS had a lovely birthday yesterday and Bubles had a positive hospital appointment.
It's good to hear you sounding more upbeat, GM.

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.

Susan56 Fri 21-Apr-23 06:49:57

Have the best day you can everyone🦩🥹

Yore patience must be stretched gMattie.
Enjoy your day all.

Good morning from a tad windy but dry start to the day here on the East Coast of Fife.
Yesterday was really beautiful and boiling hot around in my back garden.
Friends visited and it was good to see them. My newly planted flowers required watering so a thank you to John for for doing that for me.

Have a good day everyone as best you can 🥰

BlueBalou Fri 21-Apr-23 06:25:03

Good morning from a hill in Wiltshire, it’s a grey start here too.
I had a lovely day yesterday, spent a couple of hours do some gardening and enjoying the sunshine then art group in the afternoon. I baked apple cakes too!
Today I have a private art tuition booked, in a village I haven’t been to before, hopefully will be really helpful.
The new fencing is starting today, I will be so glad when all is finished and I can sort out the garden! I have lots of plants and seeds growing 🌱🪴
Hoping for sunshine for us all!

grandMattie Fri 21-Apr-23 06:01:57

Good morning from a grey Bristol.
What a lovely day we had yesterday. The sun was so warming, despite the stiff breeze, that we had dinner in the garden.
I had a quiet day, still nothing re. flat purchase, which is disheartening. 🤞🤞🤞for today. I may have to re.re.book the removals, which would be a nuisance.
Today, DDis taking me to Dunelm and another shop to look at curtains. The ones left are very flimsy and wouldn’t block any light.
I have just finished rereading a Dorothy Dunnett “Niccolo” series book, that I found thoroughly enjoyable. I had forgotten what an engrossing author she was.
I hope today brings good vibes/news to everyone. Carpe diem 🦩🦩❤️🦩
