Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight here but is dull and grey but the ground is dry here in brackley .
Today a local shop for essentials, then Bicester yesterday I did a self checkout in Bicester ,and made a saving with the loyalty card , but what I have noticed that checkout machines vary with each supermarket .
I also took an opportunity to book on a Saturday day trip ,next month assuming I have not had the surgery done .
Take Care,
Mick
Belated Birthday greetings,BlueSapphire.
Thanks for all your suggestions for my throat and mouth problems.
I do have prescription meds for it, but am limited in how much I can take.
Sjögren’s syndrome particularly affects the glands in your body that produce tears and saliva, so difficult to treat and there is no cure. Sometimes I feel as if I am choking!
MarydollI use some dry mouth spray from boots during the night . Best wishes for your dd Susan.
Good morning all from sunny Lancashire.
I had a quiet day of pottering indoors yesterday as it’s too bright to go outside. I managed to get a few jobs done with plenty of rests in between. Today will be much the same.
Have a good Friday all 🌻🌻🌻
Good morning and it's another sunny one on the Angus coast. In fact it's been a lovely sunny week for a change! BUT don't confuse sunny with warm - that cold wind which so many of you have mentioned has been here too!
Yesterday after tai chi I came home and sat by the pond in a sunny nook, but once the sun had moved off it, it was too cold to stay. I then found another sunny corner which was completely sheltered from the wind - after a while I had to retreat indoors because the sun was too hot!! There's no pleasing some folk!
I'm glad you had a lovely birthday yesterday Bluesapphire.
Grandmattie that's good that you had a more restful day yesterday.
Grannygravy (I think it was you, but forgive me if I'm wrong) I did chuckle when you wondered how Balmoral could be close to Rouen! Have a good day there Ash 😄
Sar I'm sorry you're still feeling poorly - it does sound like a visit to the doctor may be called for now.
It's been a busy - enjoyably so - week
for me so today I shall do a bit more relaxing. I'm teaching for a while tomorrow at our in-house ta chi workshop so a good bit of practice will be necessary today as well!
By the way, if someone thinks a conservatory is 'naff' (and that's a naff word if ever there was one 😉), just call it a garden room. Mine has a tiled roof and that's what the Planners insisted on calling it (and therefore insisted I jumped through more hoops because of it!) Naff it certainly is not.
Have a good day everyone, and remember summer is just round the corner now.
to those not feeling so good x
Good (?) Morning from a very grim looking S Yorks. Rain due, which I don't mind too much, as Monday's power wash of the patio splattered some plants.
I spelt badly probably because am making moves towards possibly going to live near family in Co Durham - am undecided but hoping time will make my mind up for me as I'm doing up bits and bobs on the house to at least get an evaluation.
The de cluttering bit is valuable anyway.
Today I have a treat for myself, a facial in the morning, a maybe for the gym after that as tired.
Best for poorlies "Marydoll* sympathies as one CFS to another and enjoy holidays and days out:may fences and other practical matters go well.
Bests for DD Susan
Not too long GMattie hang in there!
Good morning all from Glasgow. Same weather as yesterday, blue skies, sunshine but a strong chilly wind. Not quite a perfect day but perfect conditions for hanging out a washing, well pegged.
GD1 had her school prom on Wednesday. Phew! We have been hearing about her dress for weeks then, not too sure about the shoes now. All went well on the night and she literally had a ball, finally arriving home at 3am from a friend’s house where they had finished up. Of course, in granny’s eyes, she was the belle of the ball.
Belated happy birthday BlueSapphire 🎉
Rouen Cathedral is beautiful Ash. You will be roughly an hour from Giverny possibly not enough time to visit Monet’s house and garden which is stunning. Well worth a visit for another day. Bon voyage.
Would honey and lemon drinks or salt gargles help Marydoll These are my two remedies for throat issues. Sleep deprivation is so debilitating. Hope you get a decent sleep tonight. 🤞
Hoping a Good Friday is ahead for all.
Lovely good Morning from a bright chilly Co Armagh
I didn’t sleep last night , doing on lines crosswords didn’t send me off , it’s my usual sleep inducer
Haven’t got anything on today so maybe nod off later !
Good morning from a grey, cool Co Durham.
GM, hope you get better news re you move. I can recommend Dunelm curtains. I got dark green thermal lined for our bedroom and they do a great job of blocking light from our east facing bedroom window.
Ash, your cruise sounds wonderful.
Marydoll, you remain an inspiration.
Alygran, I remember when the Newport Bridge and the Transporter Bridge were the only crossings of the Tees at Middlesbrough. The first time I watched the Newport Bridge in
action, as a small child, I was totally amazed 😀.
Hope today brings everyone relief where necessary and happiness to all.
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle though clouds are gathering... I'd actually appreciate the rain some of you are getting, yesterday I had to get the hose out and water in my grass seed. It's a boring process!
I also planted another of my purchases, a small beautifully purple rhododendron. I'm tired of this wind though, it keeps blowing over the pots waiting to go in wherever I try to shelter them.
Today I get a Tesco delivery. I've a few little housework jobs and my office paperwork is still waiting to be sorted. If I can be outside working in a sunny garden, that will always take precedence over anything else!
Sounds like enough is enough Sar, get to that GP.
And best wishes to all with health problems.
Have a good day all of you if you can.
Sorry, I of course meant Bluesapphire
Oops.
Good morning from a very wet Northampton; have decided not to do my usual shopping trip today, will do it tomorrow instead. P!us I also have a large quantity of chicken waiting to be made into a curry in the slow cooker. When I was in South Africa and having a mooch around a local supermarket I found a Cape Malay curry mix, so will be trying that out. I do love foreign supermarkets, and seeing what strange and wonderful items they have!
Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes yesterday. I had a good day, apart from missing a bus and having to wait an hour for the next one. Arrived early at the bus station, my bus wasn't in, so decided to get a coffee, my favourite caramel latte. By the time the girl had made it, my bus had come in and gone! So had a walk around town and browsed a few shops.
Then back for the next bus to the retail park; Sat on the top deck to enjoy the beautiful spring countryside. By the time I got there it was nearly 1pm, so headed off for lunch - steak, Prosecco and red wine. Had a good mooch around the shops and got a lovely lemon yellow hoodie for half price, which will be good for my cruise in July. Wanted to get the next book for book club next month, but couldn't find the email with the details of it on my phone. Of course, as soon as I got home I found it!
No plans for today other than pottering around at home.
May today go well for all.
Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, I wish I had cut the lawn yesterday, but I didn’t.
Bluebalou belated Birthday greetings hope you had a lovely day.
A bit of decluttering then a sit in my lovely conservatory with a good book, I can see the birds whilst staying warm and dry!
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
DD from the south still here and jet washed the pathway by the front door yesterday as well as sorting some internet banking for me. She was out late with girlfriend last night and is still in a recovery position…
We had a laugh at the fact that as she had driven me home from Berkshire, a day later I hadn’t even noticed the absence of my car which I had parked at the station when I travelled down to join her lol.
Off to art this morning reluctantly as still tired and the house needs some attention after my virus before I left.
I hope things improve GM and you soon feel better Sar53
Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dry but very windy.
Yesterday I walked alongside the River Tees, very near to where I was born. The Newport Bridge used to go up and down to let the boats through. All change now with the barrage.
I’m in my (not naff) conservatory for which I ordered new furniture yesterday. The current set is tired and faded. I’m looking forward to being more comfortable. I also popped into M&S and used the new self service tills in the clothes section. No queues but long ones in the returns bit!
Todays planned trip to the arboretum is postponed. A friend’s daughter is poorly.
Many of you are on holiday. Enjoy.
Hope you all have a good day
Good morning all from cool and cloudy South Lanarkshire.
My scan yesterday went smoothly with no waiting, the benefit of being the first of the day. I just need to wait now for the result.
Yesterday’s walk along Portobello front was fresh to say the least, the sky was blue but the wind was fierce. I looked like a scarecrow by the time we got to our usual cafe.
I have no plans today but as there’s not a lot of food in the house I guess a supermarket visit will feature.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Grey skies and rain promised after yesterday’s sunshine but cold wind. Covid booster and haircut successfully achieved with only a slightly sore arm as a result, and then refreshments at a church meeting in the evening, so a useful day. Today I have an oldies coffee morning and a visit to a flower arranging festival this afternoon to admire the contribution of a friend, so another busy and interesting day.
Here’s hoping gMattie gets some good news soon and that Marydoll enjoys her empty; good wishes to all travelling or on holiday.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Chilly and overcast again. I have my shop shift all morning and then I may visit DMiL who's still in hospital without a proper diagnosis. She has excellent care though. No complaints.
I spent an hour yesterday helping to move and fill raised beds in the new community garden but with 10 of us including 2 very small boys, we made light work of it.
Hope Ash is enjoying the cruise.
I hope you get in soon gMattie I wonder why the holdup?
We'll all give you glowing references if that's what they are after!
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from a damp looking Suffolk. There must have been lots of rain in the night as the drive has several puddles on it. More is forecast for today I think.
After my stretch class yesterday I met a friend in a local town and we had a walk on the common, along the avenue where she,and other community gardeners, had planted hundreds of daffodil bulbs last year. They were lovely.
We had lunch in the station cafe which is a community one. It does wonderful simple food but is really struggling with the huge increases in gas prices and food costs. Also several volunteers haven’t returned after COVID which increases the workload on the remaining few. This must be happening up and down the country in other community ventures.
After a very busy week I’ve got nothing I have to do today…so a dog walk shortly which will be curtailed if the rain starts as she isn’t a fan of wet weather. Apart from that I shall probably move papers from 1 pile to another before I tackle the ironing,my least favourite job.
Hope today is a positive one for all, especially those with ongoing worries.
Good morning from a very wet and miserable Essex by the sea.
I'm unwell again, a sore throat and chesty cough. I think I may have to see if I can get a doctor's appointment next week if I don't improve over the weekend. I'm fed up with being ill, it's nearly four weeks now. Sorry to moan.
I have one more curtain to finish this morning then press them all and they can be hung. I had a problem with the tension on the sewing machine yesterday and became very frustrated but sorted it out in the end.
I hope everyone has the best Friday possible, love to all xxx
Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s looking fine and bright again today, I hope we don’t have yesterday’s chilly wind.
grandMattie, maybe this period of time is meant to be a spell of rest and relaxation for you after such trying times. Although I suspect R and R for you will always be creating something.
Susan best wishes for your daughter.
I slept like a log last night, I’d taken some (admittedly old) arnica tablets in an effort to get rid of the bruising on my arm from the drip and some just as bad on my shin from a week earlier where I’d bumped into the sofa. I was almost asleep before I got to bed about 10:15 last night and slept from then until 7:00 this morning. I don’t really feel rested this morning and am still in bed. Oh well, we’ll see what the day brings.
Good morning.
DGS3 will be here for an hour or so this morning
My main job to day will be packing for my solo expedition . Originally I was booked on an art retreat but it was cancelled. I had booked train tickets so decided to travel anyway and booked a small apartment overlooking the river estuary.
I’m a bit nervous and a bit excited. I’m happy to do things on my own but have never had six full days in a row all to myself. We’ll see how it goes.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning from a grey NE where it is 9 degrees.
It was sunny all day yesterday but the breeze was quite chilling.
I cleaned the downstairs windows so I got the fresh air but kept moving to avoid the chill.
My friend and I are going out to lunch in Durham, our monthly arrangement, we catch up on all the news and have a good laugh.
Have a good day all.
Good morning Mick and All from a grey South Bucks.
Off to have our booster Covid jab today.
This evening going to our local amateur dramatics to see a comedy we’ve never heard of. We know we will have a good evening.
Ashcombe your cruise sounds just lovely ⛴️
So sorry Mary you are battling a myriad of illnesses. Just a small suggestion please try a herbal throat tablet called *Bronco it helps with my dry throat.
Good morning all from Llandudno where the curtains are still shut so have no idea what weather we have. They are now open to reveal cloudy but dry weather.
Oh Grandmattie how worrying this all is for you I’ll pray that Monday brings fresh news.
I really sympathise with you Marydoll with your lack of sleep, I feel I have wasted so much time having afternoon naps.
I was puzzled about Balmoral being close to Rouen, I now realise that is the name of your cruise liner!! Are you visiting Monets Garden which I believe is near Rouen?
I await my sisters deciding what we are doing today
Have the best day possible folks
