some back bone being shown by the Government?

I don't think it's nit-picking to point out that it is 47 pages long and that both the PM and the ex-deputy PM do have other things to do. Making time for due process is not lacking in backbone. I think 'waiting' –if it was waiting – for Raab to keep to his word and resign is not unreasonable either.

I haven't read it yet but I will so thanks again.

Agreed WW ...

In his resignation letter he says this -

"In setting the threshold for bullying so low, this inquiry has set a dangerous precedent. It will encourage spurious complaints against Ministers, and have a chilling effect on those driving change on behalf of your government - and ultimately the British people."

Threshold for bullying so low? WHAT?

Do you have a link to the report, please, ww? This thread would seem to be an appropriate place to put one. TY in advance.

24+ hours to consider a report that took five months to complete does not seem excessive to me.

It is if you read the report. No way would that have taken more than a couple of hours. It is all there - job done.

I think WWM is completely right he’s a coward and a bully and he should have been sacked not left to leave by his own accord
Sorry Eazybee I think youre wrong in your support

I agree with WWM. Sunak has had long enough to think about this, but he still sat on the report for over 24 hours.

A strong PM would have had the wheels in motion in advance, so he just had to say the word - he is bound to have known the likely outcome before the report was typed.

True WW which he has done, starting with his ungracious resignation letter. Very unfair to the staff involved with the complaints.

eazybee

Yet another unpleasant post from you, Whitewave.
He said he would resign and he has kept his word.

Yes he resigned. Sunak should have shown backbone and sacked him. He has instead allowed Raab the luxury of taking the lead in the whole sorry story.

Sunak is weak

Farzanah Fri 21-Apr-23 12:28:25

What a great example of a “non apology” resignation letter.

No back bone.

Having testicular fortitude would have had Sunak sacking him.

Deputy PM resigns.
