With two of her grand children and most of her great grandchildren.

Lovely!

The Queen looks frail but happy, along with the children who are all so photogenic ❤️

Yes, they all look relaxed and no doubt enjoy each others company.

I think I took her steady hand on the tiller and personal qualities very much for granted.
I have no problems with the King and Camilla but cannot see them ever inspiring the same personal loyalty (as opposed to loyalty to the Crown)
Silly, perhaps, but I do miss her.

I still can’t believe that she’s gone. I’ve just remembered that today would have been my mum’s birthday, too. The Queen looked so frail in that photo and the sparkle had gone from her eyes.

There’s an obvious reason for the Sussex children not being in the photo because H&M were not in the country but Beatrice and Eugenie usually visit the Queen at Balmoral so I wonder why August and Sienna were not included?

SueDonim Fri 21-Apr-23 16:47:05

I miss the queen a lot more than I ever thought I would. I love the photo, though how do you manage to take a photo of ten children without at least one of them girning or wailing or with closed eyes or mid-bashing their cousin on the nose? grin

I thought the Queen looked as if she was in pain.

Perhaps the visits to Balmoral were ‘staggered’ as the family would be aware the Queen was getting frailer, and maybe was better dealing with fewer family members at a time?

I thought that as well Sparklefizz not her usual self. Understandable of course.

I’m always very impressed by the photos taken by the Princess of Wales. She has a real eye for photography and they always turn out so well. I’ve got 6 grandsons and we’ve just two photos of them all together that are fit for display, neither of them taken by me. Even on one of them one’s got a proper scowl on because he was told to remove the bubble gum. grin

It takes a good photographer 😁

And, of course, these days a photographer can take a dozen shots one after another rapidly and choose the best ones, discard the rest.

Oh, I can take 20 one after the other, Callistemon, and still not get a single one of them all even facing the right way, let alone smiling.

Maggiemaybe Fri 21-Apr-23 20:52:25

I bet I’d have more luck with 6 girls though. smile

It takes a professional 😁
Even then, they can do nothing with me 🤔

Yes, Catherine takes a lovely photo, but I suppose we have no idea how many are deemed not good enough to publish.

I didn't think the queen looked happy on this. She looked poorly and tired.
