Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Just a quick ‘hello’! I must get up very soon as the hoards will be descending. Have a good day. Twelve or so government alarms will be going off at 3 pm. That will be noisy.

Grandmachrisy47 Sun 23-Apr-23 08:14:35

Karmalady, it’s good to see I’m not the only one who listens to The Archers. I listen to the omnibus edition while using my exercise bike. My family thinks I’m mad 😀.
Ginny, what a beautiful view.
GrandMattie, you’ll make everything fit I’m sure.
Hope everyone has a good St George’s Day.

Good morning from a very dull and grey Black Country,

Arrived home from Somerset yesterday afternoon via a pit stop to see MrJ's DD in Bristol. M5 wasn't too bad traffic was flowing with no hold ups for once!

I message eldest DGD Friday to ask how her first week at Uni went. She replied that it was really good and she had made a lovely group of friends. She sent a photo of the group of 4, they looked really lovely girls. So sounds like she has settled in well.

Youngest DGD has just joined a girls football team. It took ages to find one with a place for her. I think after the success of the Lionesses last year, more girls than ever want to play.

Today MrJ is off on a cycle ride, I shall go to the gym, and sort out the washing. Why does a few days away generate so much?

Wishing you all a pleasant day

ShazzaKanazza Sun 23-Apr-23 08:02:45

Sorry about that. I hope your GS feels better as the day goes on.

What a lovely view ginny.

Today we are meeting the DC and GC at a sports centre pool with water slides so that will be fun. After that we are booked into Pizza Express where we will treat them all. It will be noisy when the alert comes at three and hoping it doesn’t upset our GS.

Enjoy your day everyone 🌻🌻

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a very damp Hull.

Grandmabatty there’s no wonder your GSs love to be with you. I hop

Good morning all from a wet North Leicestershire.

Today will be spent with one eye on the TV as middle daughter's husband is running the marathon as it one of her friends. 4 years ago her friend was diagnosed with MND having been a triathlete and Iron-man. He is now on a ventilator and being pushed by a team of runners. He is a lovely chap - it is so sad.

DS2 popped round yesterday - He is loving his new job and it is great to see him more relaxed.

Roast pork for lunch.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 23-Apr-23 07:56:38

grandmabatty when my children were tiny and regularly pulled out all their toys from the toy box, I remember what to me was an elderly neighbour (probably my age now) coming in for coffee and declaring that my house always looked like Christmas Day 😄😄

Greyduster Sun 23-Apr-23 07:56:21

Make the most of it, Grandmabatty. You’ll miss it sorely when he’s six feet tall with facial hair😁! I do!

GrannySomerset Sun 23-Apr-23 07:52:54

Had an early night and slept well so I am awake and functioning early for me. Splendid birthday party yesterday with lots of catching up with people not seen for ages, and then a beautiful concert last night given by a very talented flute player, so a most satisfactory day all round. Today only has church and the newspapers but after a busy week that will be fine.

So glad the move is in sight, gMattie, it will all work out. It must be very odd not being in your own space, but you will be soon.

Grandmabatty Sun 23-Apr-23 07:46:33

The current state of my living room!

Grandmabatty Sun 23-Apr-23 07:43:19

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° with some high cloud. Lovely view Ginny.
Yesterday dgs1 came for a sleepover and we were both excited. Lots of playing then we went to the local station to watch trains. I took him to another station then came home where he promptly threw up. He was quite sick a few times and wanted lots of cuddles. Later on he perked up and was back to normal. His mum was worried and I expect an early call asking how he is.
Said boy is sitting beside me watching tv and wrapped in a blanket. He's quite happy and has had first breakfast. Second breakfast will happen in an hour. I will take him home later then tidy up. Have a good day all

Good morning from a damp but mild Colchester.
A quiet Sunday with no plans other than picking up a few bits in Lidl and a Sunday roast.
We'll probably be woken from our afternoon nap by the emergency alert at 3pm.
Happy St George's Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a very wet South Downs. The dog is still asleep as he had a very bad upset stomach yesterday. I shall leave him until he asks to go out. Undoubtedly something he ate.

ginny that looks nice - where are you?
karmalady it might clear up later with any luck for you to be able to get out. I do admire the way you structure your day, and I’ve always fancied spinning. My ancestors who lived in Howarth were weavers sand no doubt spinners as well.

Apart from cleaning out the fridge and oven I have nothing planned today. There is plenty to keep me occupied though that doesn’t involve work🙂

Fish for dinner today not sure of recipe yet.

Hope everyone’s day is a good one and you don’t get rained on. (Fat chance here by the look of it)

BlueBalou Sun 23-Apr-23 07:34:59

Good morning everyone, grey and damp here in Wiltshire, rather chilly too 🙄. I didn’t sleep at all well either…
Yesterday the first run of fencing went up, I am delighted! The patio is nearly finished too so progress is being made.
I have a watercolour workshop today, feeling rather tired but will be glad I made the effort I’m sure.
Tomorrow it’s an art afternoon with acrylics, then I will have reach saturation point with doing 4 workshops in 6 days!
I missed the details of your solo adventure Ginny, please do tell! I would love to do that….
Have a peaceful day everyone x

Morning Mick, morning All. A clear sky over our corner of Somerset.

Covid boosters took ages yesterday as the NHS had lost me. All a bit odd. Computer said I didn’t exist - name, date of birth and address all rejected. Fortunately a very patient HCA saw the funny side snd waited while I fumbled with my phone to find my NHS number in the App. As if by magic I appeared. It’s the second time this has happened, I need to learn to be better prepared and have the number to hand. Mr C of course appeared with just name and date of birth. Huh.

Some garden pottering in the afternoon was complete before the rain came. All in all a decent day.

Not sure of the shape of today other than roast chicken followed by lemon cheesecake at some point. No adverse effects from the boosters. Excellent.

That’s a wonderful view ginny. Babydoll looked very content maryd, congratulations to your daughter. Our goddaughter lives with dyslexia and I know what a struggle world of work can be. Worry not grandmattie. It will all work, somehow. If you’re worried about furniture a scale plan with cut outs can help.

Take care everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 23-Apr-23 07:27:44

Morning al

It’s bright outside, not entirely sure what the weather is predicted to be, so whatever happens will be a surprise 🤣

Nothing planned other than going out for a late lunch (just the two of us)

Have a good Sunday folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

ginny Sun 23-Apr-23 07:19:08

pS. This is my evening view.

ginny Sun 23-Apr-23 07:17:55

Good morning everyone.
Well, this is my first full day of my solo adventure.
I arrived in pouring rain after a good train journey and a taxi with a helpful and friendly driver.
Got settled in and popped out for essential supplies. I spent the evening enjoying the view and planning my week and did a little bit of sketching.
Today I shall be exploring my immediate surroundings and more sketching.
Wishing all a pleasant day whatever you do and hope a little sunshine’s in you.

harrigran Sun 23-Apr-23 07:14:42

Good morning from a grey NE after overnight rain.
Sister visited yesterday but did not stay long as she was suffering with a trapped nerve in her shoulder and she had earache.
DS and GD2 visited and we had dinner together, she played the piano and finished her homework as she is back to school on Monday.
SIL will be visiting this afternoon.
Have a good day.

Greyduster Sun 23-Apr-23 07:07:27

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very grey, damp South Yorkshire. Feels a little warmer though. I slept badly last night. I have my braised short ribs to finish off preparing today for when DD and her menfolk come this afternoon for lunch. I managed to do a bit of garden tidying yesterday. I noticed that my pots of hostas are getting to the stage where they will need dividing. Another heavy job! My quest for a gardener continues.
Have a good day, folks. Hope someone somewhere has sunshine!

karmalady Sun 23-Apr-23 06:35:15

Good morning, dull and wet here right now and yet another day when I won`t be out cycling for fresh air and exercise.

A good day yesterday, I set up two of my spinning wheels, one suzie pro upstairs and one sonata downstairs. I shall use suzie this morning while listening to the archers. I did a bit last night and am pleased to still have the knack, it must be ingrained. Very comfortable, soothing and a hypnotic motion. Sonata is set up and I am awaiting a spinning stool to arrive, I need to get the seating right, to be able to spin ergonomically

Knitting also today, might well have finished jumper pieces by this evening, to piece together in a day or so.

have a good day today

grandMattie Sun 23-Apr-23 06:01:16

Good morning on this, St. George’s day!
A marginally warmer night, but slept very badly. Hoping for a nap this afternoon, although I must make a Peter Pan hat for Iris . She’s in it tomorrow afternoon. I don’t know if I’m invited.
Church this morning with DD preaching. Always a treat.
Collected my keys yesterday and took the family to the flat. My biggest worry is, although I disposed of most of my stuff, where the blazes is what’s left all going? How will it fit?
Hey ho.
Lovely pictures of your cruise, Ash, glad you’re enjoying it. Beautiful babydoll
Have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩❤️🦩🦩🦩
