Good morning from a damp Suffolk. Haven’t had time yet to read your posts and am about to fly off to the dentist. I lost part of a tooth on Friday( eating the crust of a delicious artisan bread….how unfair!). My dentist doesn’t work on Friday so the receptionist suggested I phoned at 8am today and he would try and fit me in. He is seeing me at 9.15 and since it is about a 35/40 min drive away,I had better get my skates on.

But I am delighted with the service. Hope I feel as pleased when he starts whatever is to be done! Best wishes to all for an easy day.

Good morning from a sunny Essex by the sea. Yesterday we had torrential rain all day, so miserable. DH came back from rugby caked in mud and he was just watching !!!!
I'm going to see how I feel by Wednesday and then maybe try to get a doctor's appointment. It's so hard these days.
Housework, washing and lots of admin today.
Enjoy Monday everyone xxx

Feeling very downhearted. 😢😢
I have just spoken to the removals - they won’t come until Tuesday, now! Another setback. plus they don’t unpack a bean. I hope they put the furniture they dismantled back together. That would really take the biscuit if they don’t!

Good morning Mick and everyone, from a dull and damp Oxfordshire.
We had a nice lunch yesterday and then all 4 of our phones went off, mine went off just before 3, the others went off at 3 pm and then mine had another quick burst just after 3, but we all heard it!
Had a rubbish night and was awake until 4am, hopefully a walk with the dog will wake me up.
Love all the holiday photos.
Have a good day everyone, let’s hope we see some sun.

Jaxjacky Mon 24-Apr-23 08:12:56

Smashing pictures from all the travellers, thank you.
Voluntary phones today, walk later and quiz tonight.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s a dry start but still quite windy.
Phone alert at 2.59.
Village walking group this morning. We are walking round the flood bank. Hopefully not too muddy.
Il pop to town later to get some cakes for book club tomorrow and sort an investment at the building society.
Have a good day everyone.

Gala Mon 24-Apr-23 08:07:03

Totally forgot all about the "alarm" yesterday. Both our phones were switched on (a rare occurrence) but...... nothing, not a peep.

Good morning from a bright and slight windy east coast of Fife

Good morning and it’s grey here on the Suffolk coast.
We were so lucky with the weekend weather . DS1 and 2 came to do jobs for us. Outside painting and heavy gardening work , as well as painting a room which we had plastered a few months ago.
They worked so hard and got so much done. DS1 went for a swim in the sea 🥶
We took them out for a carvery down the lane and it was delicious, as usual.
It didn’t rain until yesterday afternoon so off they headed back to their families.

We will carry on doing small jobs around the cottage and garden. It’s like the Forth Bridge here. But we take our time and do bits here and there.

Ash and ginny lovely photos! Enjoy your time away .
Marydoll sing away! Hope little baby’s tummy improves.🙏
Susan thoughts to you and your Dd 💐
Sar hope you’re feeling better. Did you get a docs app?

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day. . 🌷

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A chilly breeze means I should get some washing dry.
It didn't stop raining yesterday so we are getting outside today. A walk and a bit of gardening is on the cards.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun appears to have got its act together this morning. DD and the menfolk came yesterday and we had an earlier than usual lunch which went down very well, especially a home made strawberry flan of which there remained not a crumb! The strawberries were very nice, which they often aren’t at this time of year. They left early as GS was going to the driving range with his friends (after he had cabbaged a small selection of clubs out of Grandad’s bag so that he wouldn’t have to hire any! Well, no-one else is going to use them now). Phone calls to make this morning and then I shall clean the inside of the car later.
Ginny when you posted a photo yesterday I thought you might be in Fowey. We climbed up to the castle a few years ago. It was a pull! What a lovely place though!
Have the best day you can folks.

cornergran Mon 24-Apr-23 07:53:18

Morning Mick, morning All. The sky over our corner of Somerset looks heavy, the forecast rain won’t be long I fear.

A domestic day yesterday with plenty of sitting down time. Had planned a grocery trip this morning, if the promised monsoon arrives it can wait until tomorrow. My sorting mojo has reappeared so much to occupy me.

Fowey is beautiful ginny, enjoy. A day, and a cake, to remember ladylfl. Getting closer now grandmattie, well done iris, I’m sure Peter Pan will be enjoyed by all. Hope today is vertigo free marydoll and any sharing of bugs has minimal repercussions grandmab

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cold, grey and cloudy, hoping it improves later
Well done to Iris gMattie, I hope she enjoys her cycle to school and the play
Lovely photos Ash and Ginny, enjoy your time away
I had a lovely day yesterday, I met up with DD2 for lunch and a bit of shopping. No plans yet today, will see what the day brings
Thinking of you everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a bright & sunny Sefton but there are grey clouds hovering on the horizon. Hoping it will remain dry as I have a mountain of washing.
We are back from our short break in The Netherlands where we have been tiptoeing through the tulips.... lots of beautiful flowers, windmills, canals & kamikaze cyclists.
(There should be photos)
Singing group this morning so must get on. Will catch up later.
Wishing for a good week for all.

Forsythia Mon 24-Apr-23 07:19:26

A good morning from the south coast where it poured yesterday, not that it mattered, as we veered between B&Q, Wickes and Tesco. I was exhausted and glad to settle down to Countryfile after a roast dinner in the evening.
Today, things look brighter outside, bright sky so some gardening beckons plus a bit of ironing. Later, a book to finish before they need to go back to the library.
Hope everybody has a good day, if they can.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 24-Apr-23 07:18:15

Morning all

Off to the gym first thing, then I have some things to do in the High Street.

Not sure what the weather is forecast to do today.

Have a good day follow 🙋‍♀️🦩

ginny Mon 24-Apr-23 07:16:33

Trying again with photos.

ginny Mon 24-Apr-23 07:15:04

Good morning . A sunny start here in Fowey.
I managed to walk around most of the town yesterday with plenty of sot downs to admire the scenery. Also did some sketching and watercolour in the evening.
If the weather behaves I am hoping for a river trip today otherwise will have to find a Plan B.
Marydoll glad you are enjoying the cuddles and hope the little ones feeding issues are soon resolved.
GM hope you will soon be settled. Happy travels for those on holiday and thoughts with all who are troubled. Wishing a pleasant day to everyone .

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Yesterday was lovely. 12 of us had a delicious lunch prepared by my sister and niece. My niece, with help from my younger son made a wonderful birthday cake. A chocolate cake filled with cherries and kirsch and a layer of marzipan. Topped with white chocolate ganache flavoured with cherry juice and decorated with edible pansy flowers. I had loads of beautiful presents (OH and sister and brother will give me theirs on my actual birthday this week). Younger son bought me two brooches and a globe, elder son is paying for a cookery course in Oxford and daughter is taking me for lunch and the theatre in London. It was good to see my stepfather. We haven’t seen him since before the pandemic. He is 80 in June. We described him to my granddaughter as Daddy’s step grandfather and godfather! Have a great day. My niece is flying back to Sydney today but will be back in September for her wedding in France!

kitty are you taking stuff back then😄😄😄😄?

Good morning all from a bright ish but cloudy North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening today. A quick trip to Waitrose. Every week I preplan meals and every week something happens to change plans. This week, DH had forgotten to tell me that there is a home match on Wednesday so he and DS1 will eat at the pub.

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton; rain forecast later so shall go to yoga as I have a lift each way, but not venture on to Knit and Natter afterwards, as that involves walking and buses.

Had a lovely Chinese meal with the family yesterday - it was the first time that the DGDs had had a Chinese, so, although a bit wary at first, I think they found they quite liked it!
The restaurant was packed with what seemed to be the entire Chinese population of the town, so a good sign of a.good restaurant!

And at 3pm, everyone's phones went off! But everyone was making so much noise in the restaurant that we barely heard them!

A quiet day today after yoga, perhaps start my new book for book club this afternoon. Must look up early bus times as I am on a day trip tomorrow. Perhaps cut the front grass if I can do it before rain.

Have a pleasant Monday, everyone.

Marydoll Mon 24-Apr-23 06:54:04

GBatty, I hope today isn't too onerous for you and you feel better soon.
